FYI: Not Robin Williams. Urban legend.
The only thing he did say:
"The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying 'Give me your poor, your
tired, your huddled masses.' She's got a baseball bat and she's
yelling, 'You want a piece of me?' "
Sunday's "Outside the Lines" re: NFL Coach's insane work week was pretty cool (though I have a similar schedule every so often) - especially since they focused on the Bills.
Made me a bit concerned whether teams (ie Bills) "overload" players to the point it's all mush -- but that washed away when the Bills looked hell of a lot more prepared than Capers-led team. And Wyche's anecdote re: coaching JP and have him only focus on the first three plays gave me great confidence.
IMO, Jerry Gray will be a very good Head Coach. Certainly has the smarts and looks like he has the right demeanor.
The Sheild
Rome (can catch On-Demand)
Sopranos (can catch On-Demand)
Law & Order (on TNT all the time - still cant' believe there are espisodes I haven't seen.)
-- After that, mostly like movies, Seinfeld reruns, the Daily Show and sports. I'm not sure how so many people can fit so many shows into their life.
He may know football. But the knowledge and insight that comes out of his mouth can be done by a highschooler.
"You see, ah, when you don't make the pass and it's intercepted, well, that's a bad thing."
"He's a good runner because he doesn't get tackled."
"Ah, here with, ah, 8 minutes to go is where you win and lose games . . . oh, nachos . . . "
I'm goin' have to disagree with you there, professor.
Guess the first 52 minutes are overrated.
Make. It. Stop.
Honky-Tonk = RJ
Don't they know its NOT FRIGGIN COUNTRY -- it's Honky-Crap. I can't believe people listen to that chit. The worst part is that song is as bad as all the rest.
Hank Williams, SR, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash et al are rolling in their graves.
It's not hype when you back it up. It's no coincidence that Ravens are consistently one of the best Ds. He's like a coach on the field. No doubt one of the best ever.
Seems like it's been a while since the Bills didn't play a division game until Week 5.
Also, play 3 of 4 non-conference, including three in a row.
I don't think it makes a difference when you play a game but a fast start could help the Bills "control their destiny" later in the year.
Why is it crazy? The guy is a TE, can obviously block, and he's pretty damn fast and agile - and he can catch the ball. With a head of steam he can push a goalline pile all by himself.
I probably missed it, but I wonder why the Bills haven't tried Peters at Fullback. He certainly has the speed and blocking ability but I guess he may have trouble blocking in space. Then again, who'll get in his way? RB would get lost behind him.
The defense will no doubt think "run" but Peters could run a pass route. D may "forget" to cover him.
Other than your oft repeated knee-jerk "TD and Bills can do nothing right" Chant, what evidence do you have to say Ritzman "can play" in the NFL, let alone on a great defense like the Bills?
If you have anything, please pass it along to the Bills 'cause they didn't see enough to justify a roster spot.
It's possible -- even probable -- that Ritzmann racked up sacks against inferior opponents. It's quite possible Ritz couldn't do anything (or enough) against our starters in practice.
Not many undrafted FA who were inactive/injured in 2004 make the squad the next year unless they more than distiguish themselves. I trust the Coaches evaluation enough not to get to worked up about a (very) poor man's Freeney.
