The IRS cuts are going to deprive the government of legal tax intake authorized by Congress to the tune of approximately the defense budget for the upcoming fiscal year. I have no problem with foregoing those revenues if replacement monies and/or commensurate cuts are made or found. But that isn't happening. What we're looking at, then, is either more borrowing or cuts to things that working people regularly and directly rely upon. Well done, MAGA.

I think we're about to find that out. That's what I take from PA. The Republican base is now MAGA, which doesn't come out for specials. And I'm skeptical whether they come out for someone who isn't Trump. A third way Democrat (economically progressive, socially moderate) is going to rip away a decent chunk of MAGA from Republicans. Exactly. Third way Democrat is what's coming. It gave us Bill Clinton in 1992 and it's headed that way again. Someone who is an outsider (Clinton was initially, just as Trump was and then became the insider) and who runs against Trump's economic failures and the Democratic Party establishment. Kind of like you and science split over HCQ? Ugly.

How do you know that? Who is the senior R who said that the Chinese/Russians had the info in advance? How do we know they didn’t tip them? And how do we know it can’t be used against us in the future? Loose lips sink ships.

No goalposts have been moved. Can't have an open container of a liquid intoxicant. So why is a smoked intoxicant allowed to be used in a public place? The open container point was raised in response to your complaint about a nanny state.

I’ll shift focus on this to Hegseth. Lost in all of this is the point that he looked like a hotheaded, foolish amateur when he spoke to media about this yesterday. That temperament is not something that our SoD should have. He shouldn’t have been there in the first place, he screwed up, and now for the good of the country he should go back to TV. Get a level headed adult in there.

I like the point about job losses. Unemployment was low. Now, inflation and job losses are up. And the SoD is texting war plans like he’s at the end of a 12er trying to wheel some scrap at the bar before closing time. Sick.
