So you're a shutdown guy? Seems to me that, in the meantime, if all of these fools weren't running around complaining about having to wear a mask to prevent the spread of disease, we could have had some semblance of normalcy and maybe not dished out all of the free cash and maybe not had all of that pent up inflation. With respect to inflation, it has been five weeks. It's not a "leftist" talking point that Trump said he'd have a day one fix for inflation. "Immediately" and "rapidly" bring prices down, beginning on "Day One." Those are his words. So either he's a leftist, you're out to lunch on this one, or he's doing nothing about the problem. Maybe it's all three, because the fact remains he's playing an awful lot of golf and spending an awful lot of time not working when he's the guy who supposedly is the best equipped to "save" this country. Finally, re: Biden, how many who died refused the vax? I'm going to guess a lot. And that's what happens. We had a vax, we were trying to get back to normal, some people chose not to participate in efforts to normalize, and some of those people died. Oh please. You're just trying to distract from the fact that the guy you voted for is slugging Diet Coke and McDonald's on a golf course while ignoring you and the issue that got him elected. No plan for the economy, no hope of a plan, and no interest in hoping for a plan, because he's focused on golf, fast food, and the tariff idea that more or less everyone with a brain realizes is stupid and not good fore the economy).

Here's the thing. Trump helped with COVID. Operation Warp Speed was probably the biggest success of his presidency. (He otherwise butchered the pandemic, but that's neither here nor there on the cleanup.). Biden saw the COVID recovery through. Now that MAGA is big into macroeconomics in view of the skyrocketing cost of eggs (suddenly, bird flu is recognized as a catalyst of that problem), maybe the same analysis should be applied to inflation. It's what happens when you have several months of low supply, pent up demand, and free money. And guess who was complicit in all of that? Trump. He dished out the free money during the pandemic. Even signed the checks. He's also complicit in the low supply and the pent up demand through his mismanagement of that issue (turns out that maybe, just maybe, wearing a mask might have been a better play than squiring internal organs with Lysol and bleach and chasing ghosts on Ivermectin and HCQ). Biden owns some of that too, to be sure. He dished out the free money, and the ports in LA should have been opened by any means necessary when we had cargo ships circling off of the coast. But it's not as simple as saying "Biden left us high prices." There's fault on both sides. And the problem now is the guy who said he would fix it on "Day One" is golfing and diddling more than he's working on that issue. Agreed. What he could do, I suppose, is tell people the truth. They have to work off some debt and solve their own crappy financial situations. He could make things marginally better, by shifting some economic burdens (maybe tax the rich, add funding for childcare to enable people to get to work, and use the same tax increases to help address fuel taxes and the price of fuel). But instead he golfs, and gulfs, I suppose, while Middle America struggles.

This. All day long. The economy was the big issue. Instead of addressing that issue, he's golfing. While millions of Americans who voted for him as a plea for help continue to struggle. This is a failing presidency, and it's just getting started.

Franklin Pierce. Warren G. Harding. WHH. Grant had a pretty weak presidency. GWB was objectively bad. It's a miracle the Middle East didn't spiral into a regional war. Biden deserves a ton of credit for that. His economy, all things considered, was pretty good. A lot of the unhappiness with the economy is traceable to people's own failings (poor spending habits, lack of discipline) and the COVID fallout. My beef with Biden is that he didn't speak well enough, or maybe enough, to the working class. The student loan thing was a bad idea. We had a chance to take back the narrative about Democrats being the party of farmers and workers and unions. And, unfortunately, we didn't. Ultimately, though, he didn't project strength. Trump is a fat, weak, old, flabby phony. But people think he's strong. A guy like Obama runs Trump over. Bill Clinton probably does the same. Sanders probably beats him in 2016 if he's the nominee. We need that right now in the Democratic Party. I'm not sure, though, who that is.

Probably too many. But probably not at trumps rate of golf, either, when things are such a “disaster.”

If you’re so worried about tax dollars maybe you should tell trump at the next MAGA meeting not to okay so much golf and fly laps around Daytona.

I kind of agree with this. But this doesn't mean I agree in any way, shape, or form to Trump's idiotic approach to settlement discussions.

Let's go back to your insider trading issue. Last I checked, Nancy Pelosi has not been convicted of such an offense. (Although I agree with you that her actions in that respect are scummy and don't look good.). MAGA Congressman Chris Collins was convicted of an offense related to insider trading. And your boy Trump pardoned him. So if we're going to play the insider trading game, it looks like it starts and stops with MAGA. Probably much longer than Trump's failures in that respect. I don't see a wall. I don't see Mexico paying for a wall. And it looks like this "violent illegals" problem was either a hoax or something that Trump is failing to take any meaningful action on. Maybe he should work more and golf less.

He hasn’t done anything meaningful. And he isn’t helping the people who got him elected. Say what you will, but he’s making exactly the same mistakes that democrats made last cycle.

Meanwhile, while the King golfs, the Dow is way down, earnings picture is bleak, and consumer credit card debt hits another high.

I'm with you on Hollywood. I'll add this nugget on Slayton. I have a hunch that he's a good team guy, and a very coachable player. When you see the head coach's little guy wearing a Slayton jersey, it's probably a good sign.

I don't believe I'm complaining about anything. The conversation considers Trump's lousy approval rating. I pointed out that it may be because he's a corrupt, do-nothing, vapid president. He fritters his time and energy on the golf course, while the angst of the middle class that he exploited and that got him elected is ignored. Actually, it's probably made worse by his talk about tariffs and the idiotic firing of the people who work on the bird flu. But hey, we stopped "DEI" (whatever that is) and the probably 100 trans who play girls high school sports can't do that anymore. Great stuff. And, I'll turn it around on you. You complained a LOT during the Biden presidency. But crickets now. When nothing meaningful has been done to address the issues raised about the Biden presidency. The price of eggs! (guess what, higher now) Not deporting violent illegals! (not now getting done) The price of gas! (also going up) Inflation! (going up) Stop the steal! (shockingly, no investigation about that now, because it was all BS in the first instance). Those horrible Haitians! (turns out we need them because the MAGA methheads in Ohio don't show up to work). They're eating the cats and dogs! (BS then, and BS now)

But no response to the other grifts and shakedowns and the tariff nonsense. And no response to the biggest point in the whole thing which is that Trump is frittering away his time and energy golfing while doing nothing for the working class. All of these are clues as to why he’s underwater only 30 days into this presidency. Also, on the waste, abuse, and fraud, you’d think if it was so prevalent that the “smartest guy on the planet” would have found something by now. But still no specifics. You guys like to toss “fraud” around without any actual, you know, proof.

It's a big offseason for Keon. I wonder if he's a big part of the reason Ciano was let go. Release packages can be learned. Strength must be earned. Keon (and Kincaid) need to get a LOT stronger this offseason.

Nobody said anything about an approach to 60. He's not close to 50/50. There are a large number of people who held their noses and voted for him, in spite of his myriad character and leadership flaws, because their personal finances are a train wreck. He offered the glib promise of a shortcut to those people. And now it's actually getting worse because he's focused on golf, this ridiculous tariff idea, trying to hide his failures with respect to immigration, trying to explain away his broken promise on inflation, and a largely inconsequential social agenda. This corruption you're talking about, too, is far worse under Trump than probably any administration since Grant. The Trumps are monetizing this presidency through things like the Melania Amazon deal, the attempt to sell sponsorships for the film, the meme coin ripoffs, the Facebook "settlement," and the X "settlement." It's a grift, plain and simple, and we're only a month in. In the meantime, he's done nothing but ignore the working class. The leopards are feasting, and it's only going to get worse. Just wait until the recession hits and the job losses start.

Indeed it was. Today this fool of a president is saying that Ukraine invaded itself and started this war. None of these things has any relation to the ability of middle America a to afford food. With the exception of the border crossing issue (an overblown problem, given the inability of trump to deport), all of this is social nonsense.

But still lousy approved ratings. Americans got sucked into his DEI handwringing and voted against good economic policy in the hopes that Trump would cure inflation (difficult in a capitalistic system, and a mess for which he is culpable in the first instance), and bail them out of their own economic plights. So far, he has done nothing to help the economy. He golfs. He wastes time on Fox. He proposes crippling new taxes. And he chases ghosts with respect to these millions of violent illegals that don’t actually exist. But prices rise, gas gets more expensive, eggs are even more expensive, and he fiddles while middle America burns.

Solid economy and no wars required saving, eh? What corruption, specifically, do you speak of?
