Interesting point. I agree with you that those who attended the rally but who did not engage in any violent or criminal acts (including trespassing) are not extremists. Gullible and stupid, perhaps, but not extremists.

Hoax. I make a lot of worthwhile contributions. For instance, I’ve pointed out your “I’m a physician and HCQ is an effective treatment for COVID” hoax. Last I checked, that position is not one that is supported by the relevant scientific community. So maybe before you accuse others of idiocy . . . I’ll leave it to you to figure that one out.

I agree with all of this. Al Franken did something dumb, but he shouldn't have left if the only transgression was that stupid picture. AC's (alleged) (mis)conduct is worse than Franken because AC is harassing employees. Whether he resigns or not is almost immaterial. There are supermajorities in both houses, and his political career is toast.

You're confusing "safe" with "effective in this context." Flintstones vitamins are demonstrably safe, too. But they aren't effective with respect to COVID-19. Same with HCQ. Also, FYI, I realize that you're probably hopelessly busy with your work on COVID-19, but if you're going to call someone simple, it's best to use "you're," not "your."

Nobody's talking about using the civil justice system here. It's important to know why this happened and to make sure that it won't happen again. Perhaps in the course of that inquiry we uncover certain things, such as, say, inside help for what occurred. At that point we invoke the powers of the criminal justice system to exact punishment and retribution, to promote deterrence, etc. But finding isn't just a "criminal" exercise; Congress can further that objective as well though a commission.

It's not just me. You and Trump aren't on the same page with the relevant scientific community. So you'd have to explain it to the community members as well. Maybe you can put your hydroxychloroquine hoax over on some unsuspecting rubes/MAGA supporters, but I don't think it will fly with them.
