  1. Okay, am I the only cynical one here? Murphy ain't donating squat the way I read it. The Bills will donate $5 for each ticket they sell going forward to the Jets game..so the Bills aint donating squadoosh either,, unless they sell more tickets to December game with both teams already out of the playoffs. I am pretty sure by the way that announcement reads the charity is not getting $20 for my season tickets that have been purchased. Only thing I will the Bills credit for is the $22 ticket price..they know those things are worthless and I guess they figure $17 is better than $0.
  2. Sure feels that way no? that would help! Now , a couple of things. See most people in this thread say the Jags are going to get run by the Steelers..looks like I am betting the Jags today. Cant decide who I want to win that game. Still despise Marrone, revel in every game he loses and hope he gets fired at end of year. But, I kinda want them to win today so he can come to Buffalo with some hope and we just step on his throat and squeeze the hope and life right out of that team.
  3. Now, these are the rants of a very smart, astute hockey fan! Man, could opening night really only be 6 weeks ago?
  4. ^^^^^ That is what I was fearing..winning with a hot goalie is kinda like winning with a dominating defense in the NFL..prolly not sustainable in today's game. But winning sure as hell beats the alternative!!!
  5. give me 2 points out of next 3..i am happy 3... i am ecstaic and booking hotels in Buffalo in mid-April!!! And man, the Eastern Conference is gonna be a dogfight this year. I have not really studied the "advanced numbers" for teams outside of the Sabres..so have no idea if someone who was expected to be bad like the Rangers.SEns, Red Wings are winning with crazy high shot percentages ot save percentages etc..so not sure if you can expect a slide back from anyone. Any of you crazy number guys any help on that?
  6. Hmm, DC getting 3 at home to what I consider a very mediocre Texans team. The luck continues for the Texans as DC O line is really hurting..and any injury to a tackle could be devasting in game. And oh by the way, Josh Norman called out the atmosphere at Fedex as horrible( which it is) and stated they would rather play on the road. HMM..wonder how that goes over? And the Skins gave up 500 yds to Fitz last week...but only gave up 3 points..again luck rears its ugly head. Skins +135 as home dogs right now..67% of money on the Texans..not overwhelming but figure that will get to 70% by kickoff..think this may be my only play this weekend unless someone has an interesting idea here.
  7. So if that what football is liked played in a studio I want no part of it. Granted the score had a lot to do with it, but I turned that game pretty early as it was offsetting with no crowd. Damn, start of the 3rd looked like 100 people there, and I am not being facetious.
  8. I also met Isiah Robertson. Bills stayed at Hotel Niagra for a while when they help training camp at Niagra. My sister was the late night controller or some such thing. Long story, she got to know Isiah and they actually went out on a date! Father insisted he pick her up at the house..and he did! So I met him in our house for about 5 minutes ! After the date, they came back and had Sara Lee cheesecake and coffee..but I was not allowed in kitchen !!!!! Always thought it was cool my Dad, who was 60 at the time, had no issue with his daughter going on a date with a black guy..certainly not the norm in 1980 for his peer group.
  9. Russert..by far!!! Thanksgiving Eve 1994. DC was empty. Wife and I walk to this African BBQ place in Adams Morgan and plop down the corner of the bar, Tim and his wife walk in and sit ar other end. We are the only 4 people in the place. I get all excited and want to go say hi, wife says let the guy have his drink in peace, he does not need a chucklehead Bills fan ruining his evening. I got an idea.I wore a Niagara Purple Eagles shell to the place, and told my wife,,I am going to put this on like we are leaving and walk past him towards the head and see what he says. As soon as I started to pull that thing on..that voice of his booms across the bar"hey.did you go to Niagara? Starts the conversation and we move over and spend the next 40 minutes talking Bills and having drinks, explaining DTV as he was still going to the studio to watch games and I had Sunday Ticket . Both wives were talking chit on us for geeking over Buffalo and the Bills..it was just a great night! Course Bills get stomped the next day on Thanksgiving
  10. can't speak for there, but just south of the area where "National Landing"(name just made up for this announcement LOL) is located is absolutely going to get devasted by higher rents and gentrification....an area that is heavily Hispanic now. Now the argument is that a good or a bad thing..I can see it both ways. Not a scam at all, but absolutely a business tactic. Companies send out RFPs all the time when they fully intend to keep the incumbent in place or when they already know who they want to partner with..but they want to drive competition and get the best price/deal possible. No one forces anyone to participate BTW, maybe I am reading things wrong, but this seems like VA really made a great deal. $1.1B is all based on funding higher Ed and producing 25K CS degrees as well as a number of Masters degrees. Sorley needed infrastructure is like $250M. Incentive per job is $22k, not even in the top in VA in the last several years. Micron was $63K per job. Overall, I think a great deal for VA https://www.richmond.com/news/virginia/government-politics/general-assembly/we-know-amazon-is-coming-to-virginia-but-now-here/article_2d8a5ebc-07a1-58c3-a252-0bddfc7d9323.html
  11. Rodak really is an idiot. He makes two points in here that are so diametrically opposed 1) Bills D is really not good cause PPG against ranks 19th in the league( that includes the Pick 6s etc) 2) Bills D stinks as the opposition has the best average drive start seen in the NFL since 2010 ..therefore the Bills cannot give up a lot of yards. So, of course, that plethora of short fields have nothing to do with PPG...i mean the logic there is truly staggering ..yea, the bills gave up 4 yards that dive and the opposition scored 3 points..Bills D stinks! Yep, DVOA rank is #2, but Bills D sucks ..BTW, DVOA takes into account a ton more than score and yards He truly is an idiot with that comment BTW, the Kansas City guy is not to smart either. Talks about all the KC sacks fails to mention when they come. Is it in the first quarter when came is close? Or are they coming 2nd half when the Chiefs are up by 10 or more?
  12. 3 things 1) "some nights you're gunna have to grind one out" .......brother I married..you preaching to the choir 2) Dude looks like his draft class should be 16, not 10. Damn, he looks young 3) when does full-blown "skinner watch/panic set in. Will be about Christmas for me. Once we get to like Valentine's day, he will just wait to July no?
  13. so...this may the quietest library I have heard..WTF..big game, tennis claps after huge saves We likely posts
  14. I have not heard the interview..but I assumed that was only for the Nucks 3rd period no? Good article in The Atletic today by Down Goes Brown. Looks at the surprises so far and if they could end up like Ottawa last season..strong start and then crater. Yes, its a paywall site..so pay your freaking $3 and get access https://theathletic.com/650631/2018/11/13/down-goes-brown-which-of-this-early-season-success-stories-could-be-on-the-verge-of-a-plunge-down-the-standings/ excerpts: How it could all go wrong: They’re a sports team from Buffalo, so we know this ends badly.? That changes starting this week, as the schedule serves up Tampa, Winnipeg and Minnesota, with Sidney Crosby and the Penguins waiting after that. That’s an opportunity to stake a claim as a legitimate playoff contender. But it’s not hard to imagine it going badly, to the point where you look back at the stretch as being the beginning of the end.
  15. what shocked me was the incentives he agreed to to raise his income. Almost unreachable. Man, you have to credit the Patriots toget guys to take discounts like they do..Gronk should have taken the trade to the Lions and banked another $15M
  16. Beer ain't the boss of me..might be the wife and has great pull, but aint the boss!!!
  17. gunna be a struggle tonight. Needed a mid-season break from the booze so taking till Thanksgiving Eve off..damn, Sabre game with no beers!!!
  18. Did not know about those things..and agree about dialog at a high for certainly the last 10 years or so..but this is the third "agreement" with these guys, and each one had high "activity" periods...then they get a few concessions and bail from the agreement.
  19. ? I must be a dolt ..i dont understand????
  20. but this is from a well respected, bipartisan think tank. I won't get into the whole WaPO is a CIA asset...i mean even Pompeo has testified they are still producing fissile material..its just a long long way from being "nuclear free" ..and again I am not knocking Trump(outside of that ridiculous quote)...and Pompeo who is I trust on this. By what criteria? ? Tests have stopped,,true. But most will say the most important asset for the military is preparedness and readiness..and we have given up valuable joint exercises
  21. Is there any source of "real news"? Thos about the think tank..I highly doubt they are crafting fake news ..and to what gain? In the University of Pennsylvania's 2013 Global Go To Think Tanks Report, CSIS is ranked the number one think tank in the world for "Top Defense and National Security Think Tanks We have all known since the summit nothing was agreed to there..the North Koreans have strung along other administrations as well, and it appears they are doing so again. I am not even knocking Trump on this, outside of his idiotic"North Korea is no longer a nuclear threat" quote..just sharing news. I trust Pompeo to run this process like a pro..i just hope Trump stays out of it. Do you really just believe the North Koreans have gone nuclear-free cause Trump declared the threat over?
  22. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2018/11/12/newly-revealed-north-korean-missile-bases-cast-doubt-value-trumps-summit-with-kim-jong-un/?utm_term=.01807c849f0b This is getting back to what we said at the time of the summit..there was no deal in place and continues to be no deal in place.
  23. yea..its never easy unless you are Stanford Steve. I had the Bills, Browns, and Lions yesterday..most of my money was on the Browns, of course, all moneylines. But overall a good, profitable day. Man, think the Titans were +400 or something...but i will not play moenyline against the Pats ever
