An example of how I was right
johnnychemo replied to ieatcrayonz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
fallacy - –noun, plural -cies. 1.a deceptive, misleading, or false notion, belief, etc.: That the world is flat was at one time a popular fallacy. 2.a misleading or unsound argument. 3.deceptive, misleading, or false nature; erroneousness. 4.Logic . any of various types of erroneous reasoning that render arguments logically unsound. 5.Obsolete . deception. What is vulgar about the term? I mentioned in an earlier post that you might have a point in that the strength of schedule tiebreaker might be favorably impacted, however turning a loss into a win, (and this is the important part) while leaving the record alone otherwise (ie going from 9-7 to 10-6) is going to negate the need for a tiebreaker in the first place. Now, if I haven't hit the essence of your argument, please do enlighten me. Oh, and please refrain from generic crayons. Stick with a name brand. -

Your assumption is that they win those games at the cost of losing others, which is a huge fallacy. If they had won those NFC games instead of losing them, they wouldn't have to worry about a tie-breaker with the Chiefs because they'd have a better record in the first place. But of course, you may still have to contend with the plane crash.... -

The only way I can see a loss helping your cause is that it may slightly increase your strength of schedule, but that is the 6th (out of 12) tiebreaker, so getting there is a long shot. -
We will be losing sunday again

A dose of reality for the hysteria

Nice, sober analysis. Too bad the Lynch deal hadn't been done in time to keep Joique Bell on the roster, he showed some promise. -
Will we see Brohm start this season?
johnnychemo replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they'll want to see what they may have in Brohm. Fitz is running things now because he's earned it, Brohm isn't ready yet, and they are evaluating their wr's. It's a given that Trent wasn't going to put the ball into their hands much. I look at this year as full season audition for the future for these guys. They aren't going anywhere playoffs wise, so if they are going to be a part of the "new improved" Bills Nix et al. are building, this is their chance to show it. -

Not sure if they have to be injured, but I believe if you put in the 3rd QB, the other two are ineligible to return. -
Buddy Nix Doesn't Think Much of McNabb?
johnnychemo replied to SuperKillerRobots's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Weren't there reports that the Bills pursued McNabb when he was on the trade block? -
Trent Edwards Worst Game As a Buffalo Bill?
johnnychemo replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Certainly not! It's just the visual -- when I saw his panic throw (falling down, ball thrown underhanded) it reminded me of that JP incident. I think when a QB give you Losman flashbacks, he's done. -
Trent Edwards Worst Game As a Buffalo Bill?
johnnychemo replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
that 3rd down play on the final drive where he threw it away as he was going down reminded me of the JP throw in his last game where he was almost on his back. officially done with Trent... -
What's with all this AFC East Toughness BS?

Let's see, now what could have happened over the course of the last decade to cause people to take the Bills lightly....hmmm..... -

Trent's habit for staring down receivers
johnnychemo replied to The_Philster's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd like to see Trent make the tight coverage throws where the receiver is only open for an instant as well as some throws where he trusts his receiver to make plays. I think one his biggest problems is that his definition of "open" isn't what it should be for this level. -
Can't aruge Sully's article much
johnnychemo replied to Dr. Trooth's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In reality, he's doing his job. You guys are reading him and talking about his column. The value of that column in a literal sense is irrelevant, but it has served its purpose. Personally I find him contentious for the sake of being contentious and predictable. -
You're both wrong. Wade was fired because he didn't wear headphones!

Must have been the longest three years of your life! -
When I was a kid in the 70's my dad was a Cheektowaga cop. He was on the detail that was tasked with escorting the visiting teams from the Sheraton on Walden to the stadium on game day and then from the stadium to the airport. For that, the two cops used were given tickets to the game and a few bucks (cash usually). My dad used to use the money they gave him to buy me a ticket to the game (about half the time the visiting teams would just comp him the ticket.) As a result, I got to the games well before anyone else, even before the Bills players typically arrived. Sooooo, I we would hang out at the players entrance as they arrived and collect autographs. I have many of the greats of that era, including OJ, Fergie, Reggie MacKenzie, etc. I also met a number of opposing players of that era. The two that stand out are Ken Stabler and Joe Namath, both of whose autographs I have. Namath was great! He rode in his own limo, and my dad asked him for an autograph for me (I was far too starstruck to say anything) he said "Sure" to my dad and looked down at me with a great big smile, and grabbed the Bills logo on my coat and said "Where did you get that jacket kid?" Then he took me into his limo and we sat and talked about football, school, and such. He gave me his autograph and sent me on my way. Classy guy!

Bills' Defense - Better than we think?
johnnychemo replied to thebandit27's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I would agree that 3rd-and-long was a problem, the defense had to be essentially perfect with the anemic offensive output. A potent (or even less impotent) offense would have put a little more pressure on opposing offenses and taken a little off the defense. -
DiCesare column: Schobel wanted his schedule
