  1. Your absolutely right - just read that on rotoworld. I have never heard of such a thing....So clean, every team thought it would be wasteful to use one of their visits on him... I am so intrigued, now I want us to take him.
  2. If the post is surprise picks, I would throw out Kenny Vaccaro and Alec Ogletree as a close second.....
  3. I would bet the house against this - he never came to O.P. for a pre-draft visit with the Bills. Nix's has been pretty consistent in the first 2 rounds regarding drafting players he has had in for a visit...
  4. That is not a "Value" list - that is a high priced, high priority type list. Getting McElvin as your kick returner and possible corner is a valued free agent proposition...not getting a Talib or a Flacco....
  5. Disagree...I think Ray Ray will walk out a champ....
  6. And that ladies and gentlemen is that.... How many times do we need to be reminded - the MJ is a cultural thing. Had he not tested positive for it, it should have been a larger red flag.
  7. Two coaches who have coached their teams to a Superbowl....
  8. Another uninspired selection we will be bidding good fortune to in another 35 months.
  9. I dont want to campaign, but to your point, the guy in KC was by all accounts an upstanding member of the team and community...to say Burfict was going to climb the bell tower isn't totally fair, but that is about the only argument that I can say...well, that would suck. Anyway, I am hoping our new administration and coach are willing to try something...anything to win. Perhaps a decade plus of losing makes one willing to do anything for another drink of the playoffs....
  10. No - I will try to dig it up - Barnett gave him the thumbs up. As to a mentally unstable impact on the team - at the first sign of this you waive him...toodles...see ya. That's it, gone at no cost to you. Where is the harm? Again, he might shiv a guy in the shower, but let's not get all crazy that some undrafted free agent rookie will ruin a locker room - 1st/2nd rounder - yes...free agent? No way unless we truly are an unispired train wreck of a team lacking the slightest bit of leadership.... I really believe everyone wants to say we did the right thing and dodged a serious mine field, but I fail to see the risk when we as an organization are OK with trading for and paying for a Tevares Jackson for nothing in return. Bolux to the notion we were smart when in fact I believe we weak and unwilling to try...
  11. Not trying to be argumentative, but I really don't see the opportunity lost. I just don't see where we had enough capable LB's at the start of camp to not take a flyer on someone like Burfict. Again, we thought it prudent to go with 2 kickers at the start of the season and to go into camp with guys like Kumar Aiken, a broken Scott McKillup at MLB, (geesh), or who could forget TE prospect Fendi Onobun or the highly anticipated Jarron Gilbert??? Also, we thought it prudent to waste a draft pick and a million plus to have Teshard Jackson wearing street clothes every week only to be a walk away free agent now? This is not even hindsight, we did nothing right to pass on him, especially when you consider Nick Barnett mentored the guy in the off season...
  12. Can someone tell me what the risk was? He was undrafted and guaranteed nothing? I mean, I guess if the risk is reputational that a player in your organization might commit a felony, I can kind of buy that, but from an asset perspective, this was zero risk. I fail to see the harm in signing him to an unguaranteed FA contract....What, a roster spot? Let's not forget we thought it brilliant to carry two kickers at one point...
  13. I want in on this action too. No way an inside backer goes first overall...EVER.
  14. What was the chance taken? A draft pick? Nope - a no strings attached free agent contract with nothing guaranteed. No Risk...All Reward. Let's not pat Marvin on the back for anything but giving the kid a chance...he risked nothing. Shame on us for passing on him, especially when you consider our starting weakside linebacker was his mentor this past Summer....
  15. I think your analysis actually makes a stronger case for the need for a QB...or even on a larger scale a good defense. Just ask KC where Jamal Charles and Dwayne Bowe got them without a QB. Or, if you prefer, Doug Martin and Vincent Jackson in Tampa - pretty sure they both have more rushing and receiving yards respectively....point is without a QB, you can have the best WR and RB in the world and still not be a playoff team. Megatron is today's best WR and Leshoure is no slouch at RB...but even with a good QB, no playoffs. A good WR/RB combo means diddly these days.
  16. Yes - With the right leadership, addition of a strategic player or two and a bit of luck, there is no reason playoffs are not realistic next year. At the start of this year, on paper, we were thought to be better than at least two of this years playoff teams, (Washington and Seattle)....
  17. Unbelievable....I found it mildly amusing that one person saw some flaw in the gesture, but multiple? Please tell me you (and you know who you ungrateful, penny anti, ungrateful people are), are the kind of person that sulks during the Holidays because you were not given exactly what you wanted. The man gave something of himself, (fairly certain the gesture in and of itself was more than you could muster this holiday season), and he has to be critiqued for not getting the right kind of truck, and chided for his wealth? One one hand I truly admire Bills fans for their passion, but on the other, the ignorance on display here is enough to beat one's head against the wall. Pathetic.
  18. Obtaining a stud wide receiver with Fitzpatrick doling out the ball would be like giving a nice loin of sushimi grade toro to me to prepare...simply a waste in the hands of the untrained. Let's focus our efforts in hiring a new chef before we obtain only the finest ingredients.
  19. And how many losses can we attribute to poor Quarterbacking and a void of field leadership? We have all seen this past year alone what a good QB and strong field general can do - miserable teams of 2011 are in the playoffs in 2012. We can piss on eachothers opinions, however, there is enough talent here to win now. The same could not be said 3 years ago.
  20. Then by your observation and holiday wish for us to not "bite on another 3 year plan"...there is no hope yes? Should we expect a 2 year plan? Maybe I have gone in the wrong direction and4 is the mark? Obviously, plans are made and more often than not, fail and do so quite spectacularly. I would consider Buddy's failure to be more of a fizzle - the only mark missed was his investment in Fitzpatrick. Either way, I am sure after the obligatory long off season, your belief in what is happening on One Bills Drive will be reinstilled by the arrival of Mike Vick and a highly touted draft choice. Until then, cue up The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" and enjoy the Holidays...
  21. It's this mentality that has us in a 13 year tailspin...you need to keep the guys that work out...
