It will be Zack Martin then a RB in round 2
Kipers Hair replied to HelloNewman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As so many have stated - They are not going to take what amounts to, at best, the 4th best OT in this years draft at 9...they will not reach in the top 10....In my opinion, this guy is more suited to a guard in the NFL - short arms, better in traffic.... -

There is zero chance of this occurring...staying at 9 and taking him. Drop into the 20's, maybe, but still unlikely. He is not on their short-list. -
What are your draft day plans this year?

Does Sammy Watkins= Perry Tuttle

Think someone else hit it right - Sammy Watkins = Tim Brown -
As good a draft as any. I think it a little high on the RB, other than that... Anyway, so what WR's are we cutting as we have way too many now...

Depressing notion....equally cringe worthy, is Eric Ebron another Bills first round TE - Tony Hunter? -
Drastically over valued players in this years draft -

The animosity...the anger...love it...the NFL draft is a signature event. I stand by all, but after seeing a little more film on a certain WR, I am recanting slightly - Cody Lattimer has reay good hands and might well have a Robert Wood-esque rookie campaign. As for all the people that think I hate Evans - for the umpteenth time - he is a first rounder, but I don't share the sure fire feel. Again, none of us know for certain how they will pan out, I am just basing on tape I have seen. After review, guys I think top 10 worthy (Admittedly, Evans is close to top 10...): * Clowney * Watkins * Mack * Robinson * Matthews * Mosley * Bridgewater * Donald * Pryor * Lewan -

Maybe I need to clarify - Evans is not a top 15 guy in my book...second half of round 1 - sure. Johnny F-Ball and he played off of each other well at the collage level - perhaps they owe each other a steak dinner for where they will be drafted. At the pro level, no way Johnny should be a 1st rounder and Evans - has a chance to be a good Y receiver and red zone threat earl on...dominant X receiver - maybe, but lacks a complete grade to take him in the top 15. Maybe I am just risk averse. -

Who was throwing Hill the ball again? -
Genuinely...I hope this happens. Bills need an OT and a big target - trading up to get neither seems wrong. A starting RT and TE and this is a playoff team. Made a couple of calls yesterday and there is a feel that the Browns are sending signals they want out of the spot and were using the Bills as leverage to get more (picks). Would rather get back to 15 or so and get more picks. I like Watkins, but he does not put us over the top the way a Matthews and Jenkins or Amaro might...

This might be true...but Mike Evans has the look and feel of Stephan Hill. Just ask the Jets how that worked out. Hill didn't even have the numbers to back him, just the physical intangibles. I think Evans has the same intangibles and was played up by Johnnie extending plays. -
Finally getting some research time in, comparing mocks with players and, if it shakes out as everyone thinks, the following players are going to be taken way too early: * Any QB taken in the top 25 - Bridgewater is the only reasonably ready to play in the NFL * Anthony Barr - at best, late 2nd round development player * Eric Ebron - Not a top 25 guy. Better athlete than football player * Zack Martin - As a Tackle no way - as a Guard, OK * Cody Lattimer - too raw for round 1. * Mike Evans - In a real NFL offense, too limited for a top 10 pick. Should thank Johnnie Football... * Ra'Shede Hageman - Will be out of NFL in 4 years We wont know for years, but the new salary structure promotes reaching..

If Sammy Watkins is there at 4, the Bills will trade their 1st, 2nd and Stevie Johnson to Cleveland for the rights to take Sammy Watkins. Something could change, but as of today, this is on the table...Not sure this makes us better, but they see something in Sammy and envision a long term relationship with EJ and him. If Sammy is not there, they are more than happy with Matthews or Ebron at 9.

I'm now convinced we're moving back in draft..

"If Clowney and or Mack or Robinson are not there at 9, no other player is worth the 9th overall pick, IMO. I think Whaley and Co know this..." Can I ask how you know that they know this? -
Who believes in Manuel?

Completely believe in him. Genuinely, if he were in this years draft, I would still want him to be the guy we take. He has the leadership component that is lacking in them all.... -
Round 1 - 2014 NFL Draft Mock
Kipers Hair replied to Flutie7Flakes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Assuage your fears. Only two TE's have ever gone in the first ten picks and, while double E is by far the best talent at the TE position this year, he is not a generational talent. I think the Bills could take him at 9 if they do not find a trade partner, (he's around a 10-15 guy), but I do not see anyone taking him ahead of us at 9...you seldom draft for need in the top 10. For the Bills, he is only a slight reach at 9 while also facing a need - a win-win. -

Lewan to the Bills is, in a word...stupid. In the weeks leading up to the draft, Lewans "soft" demeanor will come into play and he will drop in a 20-30 level draft choice. Too early to project whom the Bills will select, but at this time, I am going on a limb, projecting a swap with the Dallas Cowboys who are interested in Anthony Barr. At the 16 spot, the Bills are hoping they can get an Eric Ebron, Mike Evans, Marquis Lee or CJ Mosley.. -
I'll take the over with a minimum of 8 wins this year...
