  1. In the words of WFAN'S resident Jet fanatic/radio host Joe Beningo concerning Favre "Get outta here You're done, finished. Pack it up. You have Nothing left. Go Back to Mississippi and go fishing with Mike Holmgren or something". The Jets would gladly give us Favre. The guy is toast.
  2. Plenty of 255 lb defensive ends are good. The keyword being good. The ones we have just suck
  3. To be fair. I remember Langston Walker, Stroud and Josh Reed making some comments along the lines of, how the weather in Orchard Park isn't really an advantage and they don't mind not playing in the elements.
  4. Yeah there's no shoe in top defensive end in this draft. A good number of quality players though. If they could get one in the 2nd rd, and grab someone who can slip like Selvie, Shaughnessy, Larry English I could certinally live with going gresham in the first. As far as centers in free agency I cant see getting Birk or Saturday Jason Brown from the Ravens maybe. There are some good centers in the draft outside of Mack. We're not limited there.
  5. People, please stop saying suggs isn't/can't play defensive end. If anyone remembers during the offseason with Suggs refusal to sign the franchise tag. It was because they wanted to give him the olb designation and he went on how he played more snaps at defensive end in a hand down alignment then he did playing the traditional 3-4 olb role. The Ravens routinely use Suggs in a 4-4 and 4-3 alignment at defensive end. He has plenty of experience at the position as someone noted he played dend in college as well. He would be a massive upgrade. Whether the Bills would actually get someone who can rush the passer over the useless sacks o sh-- we currently have is another matter.
  6. Gresham will go higher then where he's listed in mock drafts. If we didn't so desperately need a defensive end, I'd have no problem with Gresham. For someone his size to have the speed and hands he does is quite amazing to watch. If Buffalo ever wants to catch up to good nfl offenses, by adding a dynamic tight end he's the way to go.
  7. To each their own. I've been a bills fan with no connection to the city of Buffalo since I was born, with ample opportunity to jump ship. It's not gonna happen. Been to Buffalo for several games over the years. I love it up there. Met some great people. I will under no circumstances find a new team, until the Bills are no longer in Buffalo. At which time I will then be an eagles fan. I can't blame you for jumping ship though. With the direction of this franchise I really can't. You probably should've thought your decision through a little more though. A Pennington led team will only get you so far.
  8. The Bills are gonna suck for quite some team. I've just come to accept it. Wilson as an owner accepts it, and all the bitching in the world won't change it. He'll keep the same dead Dick at hc, with his lifeless coordinators. Horrible, after Horrible gameday decisions, watching the same crappy players keep their jobs, because of the bills not finding anyone better at given spots. The only thing getting me thru this is I'm a Devils fan, and at least they're commited to putting a good product on the ice.
  9. Mitchell had a good year this year as well. He was just as inconsistent with the Bills as he was with the giants. The Giants were able to cover for this with their superior defensive line. Unless you think Spags could get out Kelsay/Denney what they got out of strahan/osi/tuck. Make no mistake about it though, switch staffs with the patriots and the Bills would have a better record. I'm not so sure the Patriots still wouldn't win 10-11 games to be honest. However I am 100% convinced with the defensive talent level as is, we will never win a playoff game with the substandard talent. You can point out coaching vs talent. I think it's a mixture of both.
  10. As Chris Carter said earlier in the year when he didn't buy into the Bills and was burried by fan boards. 1-53 the Bills are nowhere near as talented as the Patriots. What you see with certain players is what you get. I.e Chris Kelsay/Kyle Williams/Ryan Denney/Kawika Mitchell/Ellison. The corners have maxed out their potential. The secondary is a good group hamstrung by a piss poor front 7. On the offensive side. Roscoe Parrish is what he is. A #4 wr/great punt returner. Robert Royal had his career year with us. The wr core is underwhelming. There is a lack of talent issue on both sides. However there's also a serious coaching issue. A 1st year offensive coordinator is not the way to build a young offense. A 1st time defensive coordinator, with horrible front 7 talent does not a good defense make.
  11. How could one be a Bills fan and be "fairweather"?
  12. Nope we're gonna suck. Quite honestly the only way to get serious change is to have a 3-13 type season.
  13. exactly. The only thing worse then Jauron returning is the prospect that our defensive front 7 will remain as is, with just a 2nd- middle rd draft choice added to it. This team is never going to beat the Patriots. This team probably won't beat the jets if they get Cowher, and miami is on the upswing, but Hey Chris Kelsay will probably keep his job, making 1 play every 2 years.
  14. The only thing I'm optomistic about is maybe we'll get to 7-9, with next years schedule which is pretty hard. Gotta stay on the right track. Mediocrity is the goal.
  15. I gotta respect Chris Brown, he's probably smart enough to know he's gonna get reamed a new one, for posting stuff like "Hey guys, we can make this work with Jauron just give it another year".
  16. You know what coach generally beats Bill Belichick Mike Shanahan
  17. And the Bills keep Jauron OMFG.
  18. Personally I was a little annoyed we didn't take Martellus Bennett, feeling we needed a te with reliable hands to work the middle of the field/split seems then another outside wr. Te's generally develop quicker as well. He had nearly 300 yards and 4 tds as the Cowboys #2 te. Would've nearly been a perfect fit for Buffalo. Bennett was also the guy who was friends with Kevin Everett. As Everett brought Bennett on a recruiting trip to Miami. Bennett out of respect for Everett changed his number in his last year at tex a&m to 85. There's some good te's in the draft again this year. Hopefully we don't get shutout again. The Bills weren't about to take a wr similar to Evans, after the desire to get bigger was noted.
  19. And I'd argue that 2004 was his best year in the league. At least his most efficient. He was a young qb who had to adapt to a pro style offense, and fully came into his own. It was a huge bounceback year from 03 when he looked like he would not be the future for the chargers at that time. A real statement season. 27 picks to only 7 ints a 104.8 qb rating 65.5 completion pct. Yeah he had more yards and tds this year. He also only had 7 less tds throwing 235 less passes that year. As well as 10 fewer ints. I'd rather have that kind of year out of my teams quarterback then someone who throws 635 passes in a season.
  20. Marty would be the perfect coach for this team, and the exact kind of no nonsense guy we need. We'll see if Wilson is willing to do something about it or keep spinning the wheels
  21. Doing it for himself lol. That will lend favors to coaching staffs around the league when he's let go at the end of the year.
  22. You realize in the cleveland game the bills db's dropped multiple ints? In this past ne/buffalo game neither qb had a pass thrown over 18 yards. Heath evans took a 2 yard dumpoff 19 yards. Matt Cassel's "great passing" 2-10-NE 37 (6:38) 16-M.Cassel pass short right to 44-H.Evans pushed ob at BUF 44 for 19 yards (24-T.McGee). Flat pass, caught at NE 45. [/b] The longest reception of the game for either team. So it was a 7 yard pass that evans added an additional 12 yards to after the catch 1-10-BUF 33 (5:01) 16-M.Cassel pass short right to 44-H.Evans to BUF 21 for 12 yards (30-K.Simpson). Flat pass, caught at BUF 30. So a 3 yard pass goes 12 yards. Must've been ripping thru that wind. 4-5-BUF 14 (5:09) (Shotgun) 16-M.Cassel pass short left to 83-W.Welker pushed ob at BUF 2 for 12 yards (24-T.McGee). Caught in flat at BUF 12. Noticing a trend here. Matt Cassel's suppoused great passing "thru" wind were all short. So he throws a 2 yard pass, and all of a sudden he's ripping thru the wind? 3-7-NE 18 (2:25) (Shotgun) 16-M.Cassel pass short left to 33-K.Faulk to NE 26 for 8 yards (59-K.Mitchell). Flat pass, caught at NE 23. more of the same 2-5-BUF 39 (14:23) 16-M.Cassel pass short right to 81-R.Moss to BUF 26 for 13 yards (24-T.McGee). Caught in flat at BUF 26 His best pass of the game, a 13 yarder to randy moss. 3-7-BUF 23 (12:17) 16-M.Cassel pass short middle to 83-W.Welker to BUF 9 for 14 yards (30-K.Simpson). Caught on run at BUF 15. Another short pass. Amazing I tell ya So the guy attempts 1 pass over 10 yards, and all you read on this board is how he had "no problems" with the wind. I mean seriously get some friggen perspective. Did Edwards play good? That's debatable. He certinally had the best passes of the game. The pass Royal dropped in the 4th split defenders, and hit royal in his hands. He had a 18 yard strike. BTW THE LONGEST THROWN PASS OF THE GAME,BY EITHER QB, also to Royal. As well as a 16 yard strike to Reed. BTW Edwards was the only qb in the game to attempt passes past 15 yards. If you wanna go on and say how Cassel was efficient, in his ability to dump off passes, that their fb was able to run after the catch for positive yardage. Or how the patriots excelled in 3rd and 4th downs, as the difference in the game, go right on. For the sake of people who actually watch football, don't insult your own intelligence, and the intelligence of others, by stating That Matt Cassel was anything other then the byproduct of yet again getting clowned by The best coach in the NFL.
