  1. Almost as distressed as I was after the 56-10 loss vs NE last year. The score itself doesn't reflect it. However this loss ranks up there with that loss for me. I'm still not over that NE game, and it'll take awhile to get over this one as well.
  2. A guy who coaches phsyical football?!? Do the Bills remember what that even is? Spags would be my 2nd choice. Personally I'd like Schottenheimer. Sure his teams haven't won playoff games. At least they're competative and get there. Can the Bills say that? At this point I'll take the prospect of playoff games, over no playoff games at all. Spags would be a close 2nd. Billick? The guy can't develop qb's. They get rid of him, and all of a sudden Joe Flacco looks to be the long term answer.
  3. Why does everyone keep saying this. Bar the game against the cards. The Niners have gone 1-3 34-13 loss to the sehawks. - not very inspiring especially at home. a 29-24 loss to the cards- They were in this game. Horrible play calling to end it. Really a fb dive from the 2? 35- 16 win vs the Rams. Ok better but the Rams, are one of the 3 worst teams in the league a 35-22 ass kicking by the cowboys. Again not a thing that speaks of inspiration. This game was never in doubt. Save the loss to the Cards. I don't see how the niners have played more inspired then they were at the beginning of the season. I think it's nothing more then a case of people getting caught up in media fluff. The Bills should win this game, even with key injuries rather easily. Will they? probably not.
  4. His last year here he gave up zero tds. He was pretty much as lockdown as it gets. That's been the Bills m.o. Draft a corner, watch him grow, replace him. You think one of these years, we could hold onto 1 or 2 of them, and draft a dline. Instead of letting the corners hit free agency, then drafting a new one. It's nothing more, then being stuck in spin cycle.
  5. It might have some merit, depending on what the fight was about. Personally it just seems like fluffer to paint someone in a bad light. "Oh no a war vet, how could he?". It could've just been a complete random drunken fight. Having nothing to do, with any kind of disagreement over war, and or politics. The fact that he just happened to be, a war veteran imho is irrelevant, until proven otherwise.
  6. Moulds was probably just offended by the guys dislike of pizza.
  7. He has a lot of the physical tools you look for. Georgia doesn't have a great pair of wr's. Yeah they have Moreno at rb, but AJ Green and Massaquoi aren't what I'd consider quality wr's. Stafford makes a lot of the same throws Matt Ryan had to make at BC. Into tight coverage, with little room for error. No I don't think Stafford is as good as Ryan. Stafford's footwork would concern me if I was scouting him. His accuracy is questionable at times. He's a pretty athletic guy, with a very strong arm. That alone will warrant consideration. For a team that is as bad as the Lions. He might be worth the risk. What will seperate him from the likes of a Sam Bradford, or Colt McCoy. Will be those physical skills, combined with the fact the SEC plays defense. The Big 12...well not so much.
  8. I'm confused by your post. You say he can make things interesting, and he's a good evaluator of talent, but you don't want him, at the end of the day?
  9. I draft Matt Stafford, and bring in a competant short term answer at starter, as they build up their team. I also get rid of their coach. Start from almost complete scratch.
  10. I will be there, hopefully celebrating my bday with a solid victory that puts us at 9-5 ::knock on wood:: If not then I'll still be there. Just not overly happy about it.
  11. You wanna be considered a top tier defense? Simple solution, improve the talent on the team. No defense is gonna be a top 5-10 group with the High Motor Quartet that the Bills feature. Especially when only 1 of them is a bonafide stater. 1 is a servicable backup at dt, and the other 2 are complete trash. It also might help to get in a real play making lb. The current group is almost as underwhelming as the dline. Maybe more so.
  12. Maybe arizona/philly will be good for those that get NFL Network. Seattle/Dallas will just be a repeat of this
  13. I almost feel bad for my friend who's a chiefs fan. In a year the chiefs may only win 1 game, and get rid of Carl Peterson after 2 decades of inepitude, and have a chance at a potential franchise qb in Matt Stafford. Along come the Lions. However on the positive side 1 quarter down, and just about 40 fantasy points from Chris Johnson and the titans d.
  14. Happy Thanksgiving, and best wishes to all. Enjoy your day
  15. The titans defense and chris johnson may win me fantasy football this week by themselves
  16. Yet the guy who never fully was himself after his Achilles tear, still makes more plays then our current lb's. 69 tackles 3 picks 6 passes defensed. He's not as explosive as he used to be. Honestly though he probably still has better overall quickness then Poz or Mitchell.
  17. it's why in the future you'll see more and more teams go to a 2 rb system. 1 so rb's dont get huge financial contracts. You can extend their productivity for a few years, as you improve the overall team.
  18. Cut Schobel/Denney/Kelsay and sign Peppers and you'd have the exact same problem we have now. Or we can keep Schobel/Denney and bring in Peppers. The Bills cap situtation is nowhere near close enough to the cap that this couldn't be done. It's just a matter of, are the Bills willing to admit the Kelsay mistake, and the terrible pass rush, and do something major to improve it? Or will we be spoonfed the same crap yet again. You know "Well with a healthy Schobel, and Stroud Kelsay and The Stork will do such and such?". That people have bought into hook line and sinker? We shall see.
  19. The only fair comparison would be if the jets lost shaun ellis, calvin pace and half their secondary for a valid comparison. Honestly stat wise, they're about even 2008 Buffalo 11 21 11 32 2.5 1 forced fumble 7 passes defenced 2008 NY Jets 11 26 9 35 3.5 no forced fumbles 1 pass defenced The difference being the jets haven't lost their best pass rusher, a starting corner, a starting ss, their nickel back, and what would've been their starting olb, during the coruse of the season. I will say this. Jenkins has been a monster for the jets defense. I didn't think he'd fit well making the transition to a 3-4 defense. IMHO the jets secondary can be had though. Overall the jets are ranked 13th in d the Bills 16th. 682 plays from scrimmage against the jets 317.4 ypg at 5.1ypp. 3rd down attempts 144 3rd down given up 56 for a 39% success rate. 69 penalties for 483 yards 28:22 minutes of posession against. 22 forced fumbles 11 recovered. Giving up 21.3points per game The Bills plays from scrimmage 669 at 325.6 ypg at 5.4ypp. 3rd down attempts. 139 49 made. for a 35% success rate against. 52 penalties for 380 yards 29.18 minutes of posession against. 16 forced fumbles 10 recovered. 22.6 points per game against. Basic numbers are for the most part even, across the board the major difference is rush defense. The jets rank 3rd and the Bills rank 20th. I attribute this to lack of personell, and not an indication of who's better stroud or jenkins. Rush defense is about players to the ball, not 1 guy. thru the air the Bills rank 16th The jets rank 26th. One spot above the KC chiefs. The jets allow a 63% completion pct at 7.2 yards per pass with 9 picks on the year. Allowed 15 passing tds. The Bills allow a 60% completion pct at 6.9 yards per pass with 7 picks on the year. Allowed 11 passing tds. The tell tall difference imho between these 2 defenses. The Jets not only have a much better run d, but they have 35 sacks on the year. The Bills a Lousy 18. The Jets rank 3rd in this catagory. The Bills a very lousy 25th. Jenkins yes is the driving force, for the jets d, and inside the numbers would say he's been more impactful then Stroud. However what this defense doesn't do. I don't hold against stroud. I hold against the overall ineffectivness of the front 7. None of our lb's are good in space. Ellison is flat out just a st's type player. Poz has poor lateral speed, and neither he nor mitchell can cover. The D-ends are just laughably bad. Stroud vs Jenkins push come to shove. Jenkins is a little more impactful. Still doesn't change the fact the bills need some serious upgrading in their front 7. Stroud isn't one of those people that need upgrading.
  20. When the Bills have a good team this may Happen. Currently they have a mediocre team who will beat other mediocre-bad teams. It's not all about the quarterback
  21. OH NO Trent didn't give a proverbial blow job to WNY on a craptastic radio interview. Obviously grounds to outcast him. Like Bizell said.
  22. Your eyes do not deceive you my friend. That's a huge problem with this defense. Not only is the tampa 2 becoming quickly outdated, but when you don't have lb's who can cover it looks even worse. When Kawika Mitchell is your best lb. It screams desperation mode. The coverage ability of this defense took a nose dive when we let Fletcher walk. Poz lacks any kind of quickness. Can't blitz, and is not overly good at shedding thru blockers. He's a guy who loves football "I get it". He's just not any kind of playmaker. I suspect people here will fall out of love the way they're finally realzing that chris kelsay is complete ass.
  23. You were pissed at the wrong team. I was pissed at how badly the bills rolled over like obediant well trained lap dogs. This team needed an idenity. Needing some damn fire. A Killer instinct, and some confidence building momentum. If it means putting a 50 spot on the sorry ass chiefs. Then so be it. I slept better last night, knowing there are some positives to this team offensively. It slowly reaffirmed my belief. We should go defensive heavy in the draft, and free agency. That's not to say the offense is a finished product, and we'll light up scoreboards. There's flashes of talent there. Besides the last time we put up 50 was 1991, and 1960 something before that. If anything we were due. "Class" be damned. Having Class is a sorry excuse for a team with a loser mentality. Here's to more "running up the score" beatdowns in the future. Curtesy of the Bills, and not against them
  24. Maybe the Bills don't beat those teams, because A. They haven't had a consistent quarterback B. Their Overall talent level is not on par with the elite playoff teams? Just the head coach? I hardly think that's the case.
