  1. I actually wish the CBA would get signed today because that would put the Bills somewhare between $25-$28 million below the new salary cap. Granted there would be other teams in even better shape but still, that is a lot of money to play with.
  2. I could see smaller quicker (high-motor?) guys at other positions on Defense but IMO you have to have big penetrating guy in the middle to disrupt the Offense and force plays outside of the tackles so that the faster D players can track them down. Ngata or someone like him in the middle would make a fast Defense more effective.
  3. Kzoo, I found this bigboard list on Billszone, not sure who put it together but it had both of the Western Michigan boys listed as players the Bills should consider in the later rounds. Did you create the list? http://www.billszone.com/mtlog/archives/20...t_big_board.php
  4. agreed, you can't cut Fletcher, even in a strange cut everyone senario such as this one.
  5. That would be the University of Buffalo. Pretty funny mistake.
  6. I can't believe the Titans are still that far over the cap after the blood letting that they had last season.
  7. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2349505 Below is the amount of money each team is under or over the $92 million salary cap as of March 1. The current list of cap numbers does not include the salaries of restricted and exclusive-rights players. When teams find out what the value of those tenders will be, the cap number is expected to be adjusted before Thursday, adding $1 million or $2 million to the total number for each team. Please note, this list will change rapidly as teams begin cutting players over the next day to get under the salary cap by Thursday's 4 ET deadline (4 ET is the end of the NFL's business day and no player can be cut after the close of business). Under the salary cap Team Cap status (under) Minnesota Vikings $24 million Arizona Cardinals $21.8 million Cleveland Browns $21.5 million Green Bay Packers $21 million San Francisco 49ers $17.4 million San Diego Chargers $17.1 million Jacksonville Jaguars $14.2 million Philadelphia Eagles $14.2 million Baltimore Ravens $11.9 million Detroit Lions $10.6 million St. Louis Rams $10.6 million Seattle Seahawks $9.5 million Cincinnati Bengals $9 million New Orleans Saints $8.2 million Chicago Bears $7.8 million Houston Texans $4 million New York Giants $3.3 million Buffalo Bills $2 million New England Patriots $1.5 million Over the salary cap Team Cap status (over) Oakland Raiders $26 million Miami Dolphins $21.9 million Kansas City Chiefs $20.7 million Tennessee Titans $18.7 million Washington Redskins $17 million Denver Broncos $16.4 million Carolina Panthers $12.7 million Atlanta Falcons $11.7 million New York Jets $11.1 million Indianapolis Colts $9.4 million Tampa Bay Buccaneers $8.7 million Pittsburgh Steelers $7 million Dallas Cowboys $1.2 million
  8. Ngata here we come.
  9. Damn, I'm telling you, you guys are starting to sway me towards Vernon Davis. It would be awesome to have a game changing TE like that.
  10. Tennessee, do you think he will play corner or safety in the NFL? Did you see much of him while he played at Tenn? Aside from being flattened by Ronnie Brown a few times, how did he play? I noticed he was the leading tackler in '04.
  11. Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking. I'm guessing that he will be one of those guys who climbs up the charts as the draft approaches, kind of like Phillip Rivers and Matt Jones. Once teams are convinced he is healthy enough to play next year he will start moving up. If he runs drills at his pro day he will help himself a lot.
  12. http://utsports.collegesports.com/sports/m...en_jason00.html He looked very good, ran a 4.35 40. He is recovering from a hip injury earlier this season but looks as though he is almost back. He did not participate in the position drills which is a bit of a concern. Allen has great size, can play corner and safety and was predicted by many to be the #1 safety drafted last year but he decided to stay in school. I'm not sure where he will drop but he would be a great pick in the third round.
  13. 1. AJ Hawk (a boy can dream) 2. Mario 3. Brick 4. Ngata 5. Davis
  14. I was watching the combine and he actually looked pretty good in all of the drills. I wasn't familiar with him but the talking heads were and they sadi he has a lot of potential and is sharp in pads as well.
  15. Chuck Smith is a radio personality in Atlanta now on 790 the zone and today they were talking about Bobby Knight and whether or not you would want a hard ass like him coaching your kids. Smith said the hardest coach he ever worked for by far was Kollar who was the Falcons DL coach for a year or two. Smith said he was a hard nosed son of a B who kicked their ass every day in practice and whipped that line into shape. He said he was intimidating and tough but he was also extremely effective. Who'd of thought that we would actually find a coach tougher than Krumrie.
  16. Agreed. I never said let's ignore the big name prospects, I simply stated that the TE position was relatively deep this year so insead of using the #8 pick in the first round on a TE, even a phenominally talented one, we should consider a late round TE who may develop into a great player. It is unrealistic to assume that successful teams are built soley on a strong first and second round draft. The Bills have to look for talent is the later rounds as well, especially in a position of lesser need such as TE.
  17. Case in point, Kellen Winslow Jr. 6th pick of the first round in 2004. He was a can't miss TE.
  18. from Western Michigan. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=115493 http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=226&p=8&c=1&n...3628&refid=5209 He's 6'6" 250 pounds and last year had 57 receptions for 670 yards and 9 TD's. He was very impressive at the combine and will probably be available in the 3rd or 4th round, maybe even later. from www.footballsfuture.com Scheffler ran the second fastest 40 time at 4.54, had the third longest broad jump at 9 feet 7 inches, tied for the best time in the 3-cone drill at 6.81 seconds, posted the fastest time in the short shuttle as well as the second fastest in the long shuttle. What this does for his draft status is uncertain at this point, but it certainly has to help his cause in what is a very deep tight end draft class.
  19. And I truly believe that this was due for the most part to the loss of Pat Williams. It also hurt to lose Spikes but in my opinion was that we were too easy to handle in the middle which allowed the opponents to go after our ends and LB's. A huge, penetrating DT forces teams to double and triple team to prevent disruption which frees DE's LB's and blitzing safties and corners to make plays. This is one position that a one players upgrade (or downgrade) can make a huge difference.
  20. I appreciate your passion but keep in mind that this is a pretty deep draft for TE's as well. Davis, Marcedes Lewis, Leonard Pope and Dominique Byrd are all potential first rounders and there are some quality "sleepers" to be had in the later rounds. Garret Mills, Anthony Fasano, Joel Klopfenstein and Tony Scheffler (who I believe has the potential to be very good) just to name a few. I agree that Vernon Davis appears to be a phenom but there are other options at that position just like there are other options at DT.
  21. LOL, yeah kind of looks like Michael Clark Duncan. Thay said on NFL network yesterday that he looks like The Thing from Fantastic Four and I agree. He was impressive in the agility drills and moved very well for such a solid guy. He will definitely be a force in the NFL, could you imagine him and Peters as wedge busters on special teams? It would look like bowling for dollars.
  22. No kidding. He looks like a monster out there, I sure as hell wouldn't want to stand in front of him when he's got a full head of steam. Solid muscle.
  23. My 4 year old and 2 year old are into Scooby Doo right now. I got them a set of DVD's that have all of the old "guest appearance" episodes and there are 2 of them with Don Knotts. The past few weeks I keep hearing my 2 year old saying "Don Knotts is funny". His humor can be appreciated even when he was animated. Sad to hear he's gone but I honestly figured he passed away a few years ago.
  24. wow, that's a pretty big grain of salt. Strong words if you don't believe what is being said. My guess is all of that crap was made up.
