  1. No you're right he has an ankle injury. I was reminded of that earlier in this post. I believe he missed a couple of practices last week because of it. Jackson actually had a knee injury, which originally seemed to be serious. Jauron was even suprised he was back so quickly. To come back that fast and play well enough to score shows that this kid wants to make the team IMO.
  2. I hope I'm wrong but I have a bad feeling about him this year. It doesn't seem like his heart is in it. I thought he'd step up because he is playing for a long term deal, here or elsewhere, but I haven't seen it yet.
  3. We have to make a decision and let the starting QB, whoever it is, start getting comfortable with the first team offense. Sure, it seems as though it would be great to have every quarterback get the same number of snaps in practice and start a game in preseason but this would waste the opportunity to give someone a chance to prepare for game 1. At this point I hope Jauron annoints JP as the starter and opens up the competition for #2. Nall might be good and hopefully he will be ready to start if JP is injured or fails miserably but right now I say we need to move forward instead of sideways.
  4. That's right, I forgot all about his ankle injury. That helps me understand why he didn't have more of an impact. I'm hoping he continues to step up in the pre-season because he may have a larger role in future and Willis needs someone to push him this year. Buftex, no worries, sometimes it's hard not to fall in to the trap. Thanks for the more detailed response. I agree that it would be nice to see how players like Gates play with the first line, especially during the first couple of pre-season games. Starting next week I hope we have the starters working on buiding their chemistry.
  5. so does that mean because it is preseason there are no updates on our battle for the number 2 RB? Thanks for the intelligent response.
  6. He looked so good in the first game and now, at least judging from the boxscore, he seemed to vanish this week. I was hoping to hear that Gates and Aiken picked up where they left off last week but it looks as though that didn't happen. Any insight on this from someone who saw/heard the game?
  7. Yeah but some of these are still pretty damn funny. When Willis exercises, the machine gets stronger.
  8. Did someone pony up the 2 free tickets you were looking for?
  9. Over or under time. One hour remaining before RJOSEPH is no longer posting on the wall. Over or under?
  10. Nice take. No wonder we have been unable to get a stable signal caller, that was a bleak decade for QB's. That was an enjoyable read because I flashed back to most of those drafts and remembered guys like McQuire, Mariniovich, Leaf, Akili Smith et al, who at the time seemed like they were going to be great. Thanks.
  11. This thread will self destruct in 30 seconds, count with me now... 30, 29 ,28...
  12. Do you think when he retires again the Chargers will let him re-retire with them?
  13. I was not impressed at all with Morgan. He was completely outplayed in the Carolina game. I do not believe that he had a chance to make this team even without the injury.
  14. lol, it'd be an upgrade. Did Tucker even play any Center when he was here?
  15. This does not bode well for the Browns. They lost one center to injury and another to suspension. Now they're really reaching... Ephraim started last week's preseason opener against Philadelphia, but Ross Tucker, acquired in a trade from the New England Patriots, will start Friday against the Detroit Lions. http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/9604638
  16. Personally, I never thought Posey stunk, he just didn't fit well in our system. If he gets back to a 3-4 defense I believe he will thrive. Jauron even said it was hard to let him go because he was a skilled athlete but did not fit the scheme.
  17. Great review. Aiken was a beast on ST and he played very well as a receiver. He absolutely punished #15 from Carolina a few times on kick-offs to the point where he was starting to look gun shy. He nailed him on the first kick and never let up after that. In my opinion, he locked a spot on the roster last week.
  18. And without a real passing game for opponents to honor, Buffalo is likely to see a lot of loaded fronts. I agree that this is a pretty decent review but I hope we prove this one line to be false. I believe that our speedy receivers and JP's mobility and strong arm should be able to reduce the number of loaded fronts that we see.
  19. I like that first article. Nice to see a positive spin on the Bills from ESPN. I get nervous when I think of Spikes going full speed because I keep thinking he'll re-injure himself. If he stays healthy, I agree with this article that we could have a fast, relentless defense that will wear teams out and force turnovers. I can't wait until Friday, the Bengals looked good this weekend and will be another tough test.
  20. They found one so far. http://msnbc.msn.com/id/14269789/
