  1. No, I wasn’t fine with it, I’m just saying we probably never even knew about it.
  2. Mixon got a pass because it happened before his career started and people could excuse it by saying “he was a kid that made a mistake” i dont agree, but that’s what happened. Had he done that in his rookie season, his career would have been over before it ever started.
  3. I know for a fact that there were lots of bad apples in professional sports “back in the day” and their behavior would surely have gotten them in trouble by todays standards. But for the most part, the media protected celebrities unless their actions were so egregious that they could no longer remain silent. The media was “on the inside” back in the day. Now a days, anyone with a cell phone or with acces to video cameras are a “reporter” and believe it is their obligation to share what they see, and their right to benefit from the attention it brings, regardless of the end result. There is no more media protection. This is probably a good thing, but I still miss the days of blissful ignorance.
  4. By the way, I am always amazed how strong a role media outlets like TMZ play in situations like this, Ray Rice etc. no one seemed to care about this until video surfaced that made it too hard to sweep the offense under the rug. There are other incidents that may be much worse than this (*speculating* like Rueben Foster and Greg Hardy) that don’t get as much attention because you can’t visualize it. As annoying as TMZ is, they do serve a strange purpose when it comes to illuminating bad behavior in public situations.
  5. I meant “death penalty” in the NFL career sense, as in his career may be over, like Ray Rice. Middle America does not like men who kick women (even if it’s not that hard) and they are a group who speak loudly with their wallets.
  6. Had this been 20 years ago, I would agree with you, but in this day and age with video evidence everywhere and the politically correct response to everything that happens, this could be a death penalty scenario.
  7. So much for the “he won’t be punished” crowd. Wow
  8. I agree. Still a bad look for him. I definitely wouldn't say he "brutalized" her like TMZ did...
  9. Ray Rice was investigated too, but everything changed when the video came out.
  10. Certainly a knife would make a difference. I do admit that the first time I watched, I thought he pushed her into the wall, but now I see that is not the case...
  11. That would be a bad look for the NFL. If they don't suspend him, it is just because they are contending for the Super Bowl this season.
  12. So it's ok to hit and kick a woman as long as it's not too hard? Are you sure you want to stick with that?
  13. I just grabbed him too, to keep anyone else from getting him.
  14. Damn. Should get the Ray Rice treatment. But sadly, because he is more talented, he'll get a slap on the wrist.
  15. I may check out The Standard in Roswell this weekend. They have a big sign out front that says "Home of the Buffalo Bills". Standard just opened where Diesel restaurant used to be.
  16. The officiating in this game was horrendous. They kept talking about how they were the most senior crew in the league, like it was a good thing, but it basically meant they were too old and bad at their jobs. The league needs to start weeding out some of these guys.
  17. Every year the same media loves the Dolphins then we kick their ass
  18. I fear that for his entire career, his critics will point out every bad throw he makes just to say “I told you so”. He can go 20 completions for 21 attempts and his critics will point out the one he missed was inaccurate just like they predicted.
  19. Uh-oh, Skins executive Doug Williams apparently referred to the domestic violence charge against Foster as “small potatoes”. This won’t go well for him. http://dailysnark.com/redskins-senior-executive-says-domestic-violence-is-small-potatoes-while-defending-reuben-foster/?fbclid=IwAR2_yJFJXSFjZOINAbRJcm9mNKtKmAt8pbK1Ujs4jjwpJ7F8NiCOX-jGWT4
  20. As the parent of 3 kids whose feet seem to grow weekly, I concur about the pricing, but unfortunately my kids would never wear off brand shoes. Kudos to Foster for allowing one parent to avoid having to say no.
  21. That is so awesome! I love that he is walking around town wearing his Bills gear too!
  22. I was not a big college football fan when I first moved to Atlanta but for the most part, everyone down here is way more into college vs NFL. I was talking football with a girl in my office who was a big Florida State fan and I commented on how many good teams there were in the SEC. Ooops. I felt like a fool when she informed me that they were an ACC team. I had much to learn.
