People hate the JPL Rumor for One Reason
1billsfan replied to Arkady Renko's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Try another reason on for size...Brett Favre. We don't want the Bills to end up being the 90's version of the Atlanta Flacons. JP has the skills, yet hasn't been given enough time to fully develop. -
Chris Kelsay Bennie Anderson Mike Williams Trey Teague Chris Villarial Nate Clements Eric Moulds Sam Adams Mark Cambell Daimon Shelton So you think that these "veterans" didn't play like amateurish a-holes in 2005??????? The sad thing here is that so many Bills fans buy into the myth that this team has a very good group of veterans who are being forced to play with a lousy player in JP Losman. I have little sympathy for these fans. BTW, every single one of those guys sucked in 2005.

A couple points about Losman and Moulds
1billsfan replied to Gambler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If this is true, it's amazing how much pull a bunch of lazyass players have on this sorry Buffalo Bills team. I seem to remember a 2005 defense that played like whimps and players on the offensive line that were even worse when it came down to intestinal fortitude. At least Losman look like he was trying and he has the excuse of being thrown to the wolves too early. This team, it's front office and some of the fans here who are grabbing at the pitchforks looking for a scapgoat on a team that if full of losers sicken me. -
A $7,000,000 annual salary, while a couple of million too large for the one of the Bill's best offensive weapons is not that outrageous. Has anyone seen what Charles Woodson was making last season? At least Moulds has been a team leader (sans Miami game) for the Bills for a long time. Moulds has also been the main draw for those season tickets TD was selling for a long time. Eric Moulds made a TON of money for Ralph. The man can still play at a high level, pay him his money or trade him away from our division.
-
Huh? Not sure what you meant here. How is it teaching him a lesson if Moulds plays for the Bills this year? He did sign a contract, correct? If you mean that Ralph will pay $6,000,000 after he fails to show up and play a full season, well then there's a better chance of pigs flying before that happens.
-
Eric Moulds will not be getting cut by the Bills and you can take that to the bank. Doing so would be opening up a huge pandoras box on all future player negotiations on a team that is one of the least attractive places to play in the league. If a player wanted out all they'd have to do is hold their breath to get their release. Aint gonna happen. Eric signed a contract and if another team wants him they will have to trade with the Bills to get him. Otherwise he will have to play football on the Bills or he won't get payed. There are no high priced free agents left that the Bills will be needing Eric's salary for so they are not going to be blackmailed by his or his agents threats. So the Bills will either be getting draft picks for Eric or he'll be on our team in 2006. I laugh when I hear these so called NFL experts saying that the Bills will release Eric.
-
IMO the Bills can still build the lines with their 2nd and 3rd round picks. But JP needs more weapons than just Lee Evans and a player of Davis' pedigree will not be there after round one.
-
If we were to trade down for 2 first round picks I'd take a DT and a OT, then a OG in the 2nd round.
-
Unfortunately the Bills will not be able to address this need with the 8th pick unless they're going to reach on an offensive lineman or if Dbrick falls to them, which he won't. What offensive lineman would you want the Bills to take at #8?
-
With Moulds likely gone next season and the Bills being last in the NFL in red zone offense and third down efficiency drafting a player like Davis would no doubt do wonders for our team. Yes there's a gaping hole in the defense, but what about our being last in the NFL in the redzone and in converting third downs? The Bills will be able to find a possible DT starter in the 2nd round, but they won't find anything that will fix the worst offense in the league. That's for damn sure. IMO Davis is by far the better prospect between him and Ngata. With Moulds likely gone, the hole at DT will take a backseat to the hole in the offense.
-
I didn't realize he had Williams available, I'd take Williams over Davis. No way he's there at number 8 though.
-
I'd go with Davis because he is one of those game changing players that teams will have to game plan for. Although I do think our interior defensive line is in dire straits and is the biggest need position, I also think that having a player like Davis will help this team play ball control and have much better red zone success. These two factors will help out our defense.

With TO going to Dallas & Keyshawn to the Giants..
1billsfan replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup, because the other players on the Bills need to see that if you sit and sulk you'll get no money. The man writing the checks runs the show, not the player. If Mouds wants to be the guinea pig for this exercise, he can try it out. But here's two words why he won't be doing this, child support. -

This is not an option. Moulds fits under the cap and the Bills need a starting wide receiver oposite Lee Evans. If a team is willing to trade a draft pick or player for Eric then the Bills should absolutely be considering it. But caving in to disgruntled players while making your team weaker in not a mode of operation the Bills will start advocating now or in the future. In other words...aint gonna happen. -
To all who say 7 games isn't enough to judge JP
1billsfan replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Joey has had 55 NFL starts. JP has had 8 NFL starts. What's sad is your weeping for Harrington as not having had a fair shot and then throwing Losman under the bus when he's had only half a season starting under center. Every statement in your paragraph was bogus, all the way down to JP's 64.9 and Joey's 59.9 first year starter QB rating. -

I love it how completely off-base and unfounded speculation from out of town papers and sports talk hosts saying that JP Losman could be cut has led to fans here as seeing this as a real possibility. Even the most ardent of the JP haters has to admit the guy has proven he can get the long ball to Lee Evans and he's also made the most of Josh Reed since his first season. JP's also proven he can avoid the rush and not pout when he gets benched. These are all traits that I saw from JP, and I'm as amatuer as it gets when it comes to player evaluations. I'm sure Marv and Dick saw them too, he aint going anywhere but under center as a starter this season. Marv said he was going to bring in another QB to compete with JP and Kelly. Please don't buy into this fantasy that JP could be cut. It's just plan silly. -
Could JP Losman be on his way out?

A team that uses their 1st round pick for a QB 3 out of 5 years is just plain stupid. There are 22 positions to fill and we have a team that's weakest in the NFL in both of their interior lines. The smart ones here want these to be addressed because we're tired of watching teams run all over us up the middle and cream our quarterbacks every time they drop back to throw a pass on the other side of the ball. First round QBs have become crack for this team, just say no to first round QBs. -

I didn't assume they'd fail. I just suggested that the Bills are in no position to gamble on one of them. -

Picking a franchise quaterback in the first round is a total crapshot. History tells every GM and football fan this fact without a doubt. The Bills can not afford to do this because they currently have gaping holes in their interior lines. The Bills either must pick a can't miss type like Ferguson, Williams, Hawk, or Davis or they must trade down and pick a lineman like Mangold in the first round. If you've ever seen Leinart play you'll realize that he stands a snowball's chance in hell behind our offensive line. At least JP Losman has wheels and can throw the deep ball, these are two things Leinart can't do. -

Ok, who's going to be blocking for your new improved QB of the future? Or for your buddy Willis for that matter. The Bills need to address the offensive line for the 1,000,000th time. -

My thought is that Pat Kirwin pulled that idea out of his butt. His half-assed offensive lineman detector must have shorted out or something. -
Moulds likely to be cut very soon!
1billsfan replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
John Clayton is the absolute worst "insider" out there. He's just brow-beating the Bills because his prediction still hasn't come true. He saw the Reed deal and figured it was time to bang the same stupid "Moulds will be released" drum. The Bills would be absolutely foolish to terminate ties with Eric without getting any compensation for him. There are plenty of teams that want Moulds and all Buffalo has to do is wait for someone who's willing to give fair compensation or he'll just keep Moulds for the 2006 season. The Bills will be well under the cap and dumping Eric would blow a huge hole in our offense. A hole that won't be filled in 2006. Marv's a smart man and he knows releasing Eric is a stupid idea. I can't wait to see Clayton's whiney face when he has to follow up on this one. I think it's 50-50 on whether Eric stays or the Bills deal him for a second round pick.
