  1. I agree. If anything, they're tipping their hand that they WILL be taking a RB with their first pick. Maybe they should just zip it shut till it's their turn to make a selection.
  2. I doubt that either. I was just saying that Lewis won't be keen on teaching any RB they might draft. He wants to be a starter and position himself for a big contract in 2008.
  3. I don't buy it. I don't think Jamal Lewis took the Brown's offer to serve as a teacher for his possible replacement. With the astronomical contracts and money being thrown around there will be very few players willing to mentor their backup that would take away a huge payday if he were no longer the starter. Lewis is on a one year contract and I'm sure he'll have little interest in teaching any RB they bring in. I think they are going to take Quinn.
  4. I wouldn't trust any comments coming out of NFL organizations given that it's a month before the draft, even the Bills. Tis' the season of disinformation. They could be saying this because they want Green Bay thinking the Bills aren't going RB in the first round. The Bills brass my be paranoid about Green Bay or any other team trading up to get Peterson (if he fell) or Lynch. I know there's a lot of fans here on this board that want Willis or Okoye but the Bills may in fact be seriously thinking of taking a RB before those positions.
  5. Well during the Donahoe years it always seemed like the Bills showed up with a stick while the Pats brought a sword. It always seemed to be over before the game started. They may not have been frighteningly good, but compared to us they WERE frightentingly good.
  6. You misread what I wrote. The Giants are the ones who'll be having the abominational 2007 season. I could see Belichick jumping the Patriot ship to the Giants if all of these FA moves fall flat and they either don't make the playoffs or they get taken out by a young upstart. I look at the Pats roster and I see a lot of bigtime players in decline. Harrison, Bruschi, Vrabel and Brown are ancient. They've also lost a ton of the members from Superbowls past in recent seasons. Think they'd wished they could have a do-over in their decision to let Deon Branch walk? So far they've tried Chad Johnson and this year they're trying Wes Walker, Donte Stallworth, Kelley Washington. That there says how desperate they've become. They're throwing anything up there at wide out and hoping it sticks. Wes will be a gamer, the other two? Not so sure about that. They're still good but the Pats no longer look frighteningly good anymore, even after these moves.
  7. The Pats are clearly getting desperate this offseason. They used to laugh at all of the other teams throwing around cash the first week of free agency and what do they do this year? Start chucking cash at one of the highest priced free agents. Then they give away a high draft pick for that spot receiver/return player from Miami. Then after this flurry, they start throwing darts at questionable receivers D. Stallworth (one foot on the suspension banana peel) and K. Washington who has never amounted to anything of note in this league. It's becoming quite obvious that the Pats see the writing on the wall and are doing everything they can before the draft to fortify an already crumbling foundation. Like the Bills of the mid-nineties they're starting to look tired and worn from age and the extra playoff games from the past 5 seasons. They'll still be a good team but they won't see another Superbowl with what's left of that nucleus that got them there. Why else, other than desperation, would they be acting completely opposite during this offseason than in season's past? I don't see them being as smug about how their "great" draft picks are fitting right into the "system" as yet another veteran leaves for whatever reason. Chad Jackson, David Thomas, Garrett Mills anyone? After Maroney, their 2006 draft kind of sucked. Yes, they'll probably make the playoffs again (barely), but then they'll get taken out by a young team like the Jags once did to the Bills way back in the day. The Pats are a scared team right now because they know the end is near. Eventually, Belichick will be having thoughts of jumping ship and "saving" the Giants organization after their sure to be abomination of a 2007 season. You wait and see.
  8. I guess Bob doesn't put too much stock into... A team's young core of players improving on last season's promising performances. No coaching staff turnover means only rookies will have to learn a new system. Team chemistry, the slash and burn backstabbing players are all but gone. McCargo (broken foot) and Youboty (Mom's death) living up to their pre-draft billing. The 2007 rookies making the same impact as the 2006 rookies. As for the division... The Pats are petrified they are getting past expiration date (see Harrison, Bruski, Brown ect), some could also see their new additions as a desparate attempt at staying younger. Not sure I buy it, but they are still holding on by a thread. Eventually youth (see Bills) will beat the aging veterans (see Pats). The Jets will of course be in the fight. But depending the final rosters I think the Bills will be right there with them. The Dolphins will not be as good as the Bills in 2007. Without a doubt.
  9. Questionable hands? Lynch had 34 receptions for 328 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2006. Those are great receiving stats for a runningback.
  10. My problem with this strategy is that I think the dropoff from Peterson/Kynch to the next viable RB is very steep. While I think the dropoff from Willis to the other top LBs isn't as big. If you take one of the highly rated tailbacks, you still have a shot at trading the 2nd and the original Bill's 3rd round pick to move back into the later part of the first round and get a shot at Puz or Timmons. If they take Willis at 12, I will be praying that they are working San Diego for a deal for Turner because I think this team will have a really tough season if we are forced to start one of the also ran RBs like Bush, Hunt or Irons. I sense our defense will be shaky (even with a Willis), so this offense needs another homerun threat besides Evans (ie Turner, Lynch or Peterson), so we can have a shot when our defense breaks down. Either way we are sure to get a hell of a player at 12, can't wait to see who it is.
  11. Feeling's mutual. You wore out your welcome a long long time ago.
  12. Dude, you've seriously overreacted to something that is known around these parts as a "joke". You got bent out of shape about this comment????... "What's that characters name on the Sopranos?...Big kitty? That should've been McGahee's nickname last season since it's what he reminded me of when he ran with the football." This is very tame stuff. Through my eyes, McGahee ran like he was afraid of getting hurt (and yes, I would be afraid of getting hurt and would run like a kitty going towards the hole. However it happens not to be my JOB to do this). I saw very little that resembled the McGahee's fierce stiff-armed running style of his 2004 season, so hence the "Big kitty" zinger. You've gotta try to lighten up if you're going to hang here man.
  13. 1. I don't make my living as an NFL runningback. 2. I don't pretend to think I could ever be an NFL runningback. 3. Numbers 1 and 2 have no bearing on the fact that Willis ran like a kitty last season. 4. You're the one who was bawlin after I gave your hero Willis the "Big kitty" moniker 5. Either learn how to take posters making fun of your boyfriend or go home.
  14. Yes, but are they trying to target the next Jerome Bettis or Marshall Faulk? I'd bet on the Faulk type back. I'm starting to believe that the Bills have made up their mind on having Crowell as our starting MLB and they'll draft Lynch at 12. With the 2nd and two 3rd round picks I see the Bills trying to find Spikes replacement at OLB and depth at corner. They may have already decided that they won't draft Willis because they already have Crowell.
  15. Hadn't seen him play, but at 250 lbs and running 4.60 forty there is no way he'll ever be an elusive back in the NFL. Even if he were somewhat elusive, I'm pretty sure he still doesn't fit the offense Fairchild wants to run here. Lynch, Turner, Irons are the players the Bills are probably looking at. I'd be shocked if the Bills took Bush based on the 250 lbs size alone. http://www.mymockdraft.com/RB/PositionRank.aspx
  16. I really don't think that Bush is in the Bill's draft plans. He's a big bruising type runner and we're a team that's clearly going towards that Steve Fairchild/St. Louis Ram offense that relies on the runningbacks ability to catch outlet passes (a la Marshall Faulk), along with being a slashing elusive type runner. Bush does not fit this profile at all.
  17. McGahee's ran like a kitty last season. He ran like a kitty before the rib injury breaking the 100 yard mark only once and he ran like a kitty against Baltimore in the last game of the season. I'm damn tired hearing about that knee injury, if he can't get the job done and run with intestinal fortitude like he did in 2004 then maybe he should retire. By the way, I was saying this BEFORE he made his dumbass Toronto comments... http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=57990&hl= The guy acted like a little child who held his breath until the team had to give in and give him the candy bar he wanted (his ticket out of Buffalo). He then said that his ex-teamates did not have a winning attitude, the same teamates who were THERE during the off season training sessions that he SKIPPED. He didn't stop there, he then had the audacity to disparage JP and the offensive line as to the reason he failed to gain 1000 yards. McGahee = kitty.
  18. What's that characters name on the Sopranos?...Big kitty? That should've been McGahee's nickname last season since it's what he reminded me of when he ran with the football.
  19. Like us, the Packers have a huuuuge gapping hole at runningback after losing Ahmad Green. So if the Bills go past the 16th pick they would have to settle for the runningback scraps like Bush, Hunt or Irons. None of which have the size, speed and all around ability that the Steve Fairchild offense thrives on. No way the Bills are looking at picking up a jumbo back like Bush. As for Hunt, he'll become a very good backup in this league and Irons is a third down/change of pace scat back. I think the next Bills runningback will be Lynch, Turner or Peterson. The only way I see we get Willis and a true runningback would be to draft Willis (if he's still there), then start negotiating with the Chargers on compensation for Turner (on condition Turner signs an extension since this is his final year under contract). If we go the Lynch route in the first, I see the Bills drafting the best CB in the second then the best two linebackers in the third round when their picks come up (Shaw, Alexander, Burgess, Waters, Durant?).
  20. Boston's first album was one of the greatest rock and roll records of all time. It was a groundbreaking achievement and the musicianship was flawless. The other bands you mentioned never came close to approaching the greatness that was Boston's first album. Make fun of these old "corporate" rock bands all you want, at least they all had an "original" sound. Something of which the recording industry is completely devoid of today. If you want to take pot shots, I suggest you take a look at the current top ten of todays music charts. As far as Boston being a great "band", it was more of a rock and roll project than a band. They hardly ever toured and their subsequent records never came close to the greatness of that first album.
  21. Was definitely one of the greatest rock and roll lead vocalists ever. Way back when people with talent were actually the ones who made it big in the music industry. Sounds like he was a cool guy too... http://bandboston.com/
  22. Here's goes mine... 1. Marshawn Lynch RB 5'10" 223 2. Tanard Jackson CB 6' 190 3a. Tim Shaw OLB 6'1" 235 3b. Anthony Waters MLB 6'2" 240 4. Marquay Love DT 6' 310 Look for a FB, OG and CB to fill out the last 3 picks
  23. Much obliged. I heard the interview and can't wait for the Bills to knock them giggles out of him.
  24. I can't wait to see that ham sandwich eatin, workout skippin, play forgettin, line of scrimmage dancin, baby mama makin, mush mouth talkin, Buffalo hatin numbskull get his brains bashed in by those players without the "winning attitude" at RWS. Bring your A-game you classless moron.
