  1. I particularly liked the part of the press conference where he said "we might need to re-arange the huddle, im not sure roscoe can see aronud these guys"
  2. 1) Lets say you own a company. You know if you develop a cure for cancer, you can only sell it for a dollar a tablet....how much money are you willing to invest into finding this cure? Is it more or less than if you could sell it for $5/tablet?
  3. Ugh....you dont want to government funding medical research. At least not in the method typically talked about. Perhaps put a 10M award or whatever out there to the person or corporation who finds a cure for cancer, but to just have the government fund research....it sounds good, but in practice, it would be a huge and inefficient burden on our tax system. There is very few thing the government should be publiclly funding. Medical research is not one.
  4. Umm....they just traded for Thomas Jones....
  5. I agree Peterson is better than lynch, at least it appears that way. But the difference is not so great that it warrants giving up a 2nd round pick or next years first round pick to move up and get him. Why do you assume that houston will take Peterson? 1) They passed on Reggie Bush last year 2) They just signed Ahman Green to a 4 year/23M contract 3) Besides A. Green, they also have Ron Dayne, Samkon Gado, Wali Lundy and Dominick Davis/Williams on the roster. 4) They have not had a winning season EVER (correct me if i am wrong here) and have a ton of holes to fill, not just RB. And, 2nd round RBs have had a VERY GOOD track record. Probably as good as 1st rounders. Point is, its likely that Kenny Irons or Tony Hunt will be as good or better than Peterson/Lynch. You cant say this about most any other position. All things considered, unless Cleveland moves down and stays in the top 11, or Tennessee moves into the top 11, I have about a 95% confidence that Peterson will be available at 12.
  6. Crayons, I dont know what it is, or how you can use it, but you have a talent...you need to somehow direct that into something very advantagous to yourself.
  7. This is one small Pro to the argument...the list of cons is not only longer, but carries much more weight
  8. Who the hell do you work for? ESPN? This is the kind of drivel you can only find on ESPN (and I guess TBD). 1) Lynch WILL BE available at 12. If we want a RB, lynch is our guy. Peterson is not that much better than lynch anyway. 2) Peterson very well could be there at 12. 3) 2nd round RBs have had alot of success in the NFL 4) A trade up costs ALOT. We have too many holes to fill This trade up for peterson nonsense has to stop. There is only one guy the bills should consider trading up for, and thats Calvin Johnson. That wont happen (and probably shouldnt happen), but he is the ONLY player worth trading up from 12 to get in this draft.
  9. Okay, i'll play....who do you think will be willing to trade up to 6 to grab peterson?
  10. You're close to having the correct solution. The answer here is that we should not spend alot of resources on a running back. Whether that is alot of cash in the FA pool or an early round pick. There is nothing wrong with a FA back, but there is no need to go crazy and throw a 50M contract on the table. On the flip side, spending a first round pick on a RB seems silly due to the short shelf life, and your not really getting value for your pick. So bottom line, dont spend alof of resources on a back...but explore all options to get someone of quality in here.
  11. Just throwing out some other recent names...Boomer Esiason, Randall Cunningham, Kurt Warner, Warren Moon, Mark Rypien, Bernie Kosar, Phil Simms Looks like we started watching FB around the same time. My Top 10 1- Montana 2- Manning 3- Elway 4- Favre 5- Kelly 6- Brady 7- Marino 8- Young -----------Big drop off after 8----------- 9- Aikman 10-Phil Simms
  12. Hence the devil smiley! I need to learn how to lay on the sarcasm around here!
  13. So, what I am hearing you say is that illegal aliens may be good for the economy because they keep prices down and we dont have to pay them them minimum wage? Explain to me again why raising the minimum wage is a good thing again?
  14. I'd be okay with it.... I mean, I know there are better options out there, and I would rather persue those options, but at the end of the day, if we dont have those other options, I guess I'd be okay with this.
  15. Clarkson defeated Quinnipiac in Albany, taking over the #3 slot in the nation, and will head to Rochester next weekend to continue their quest towards the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP! Congratulations Techers! Onward and Upward!
  16. True, but Desmond Howard was hardly good. He had some good seasons, and some good games, and he is one of the top guys on this list, but I cant really call him a good pro. If you include howard, you have to include whickkkky... But I think the point remains, the prognosis for heisman winners in the NFL is NOT good.
  17. Really? You would actually be EXCITED to vote for hillary? You must be one of about 50 people in that camp. I'm sure she will get alot of votes, but you are the first person I have ever heard express excitement about her candidicy.
  18. I think we will draft a QB. Will be 2nd day though. I see us cutting Holcomb (perhaps nall, but i think Holcomb is more likely) and keeping a rook on the roster.
  19. Wearing a whole lot of Green (and Gold), turning on ESPNU and watching Clarkson University take home another ECAC Hockey Championship! Bring on the NCAAs! Frozen Four here we come, I feel it!
  20. Gino Teretta. For a while there, the hiesman was a curse in the NFL draft. I stand corrected....Teretta was apparently drafted in the 7th round. Some Heisman Busts: 1989 - Andre Ware 1990 - Ty Detmer 1991 - Desmond Howard 1992 - Geno Teretta 1993 - Charlie Ward 1994 - Rashaan Salaam 1996 - Danny Werfuel 1999 - Ron Dayne 2000 - Chris Winkie 2001 - Eric Crouch 2003 - Jason White If past history is anything...its not looking good for Troy Smith. I knew this list was going to be bad, but not THIS bad. In fact, since 1989, the only heisman winners who have hit it big are Eddie George, Ricky Williams (kinda), Charles Woodson and Carson Palmer. Jury is still out on Linert/Bush. Thats FOUR of SEVENTEEN...
  21. You missed the 5th round!!!
  22. I think they have the right to negotiate and sign him...just if they do, the saints get two first round picks...could be wrong as I dont really understand the intricacies of the franchise tag.
