Copy of Marshawn's Police Report
ROCCEO replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with that , I think Lynch is a family guy and its probably a family member or someone he considers to be one and he's likely trying to avoid giving whomever it is up until he absolutely has to. We don't know whats involved here, it could be someone under 21 for all we know and that could be part of why its so touchy or maybe they only had a permit etc. Who knows, the point is we'll find out the end result when we do and until then theres nothing any of us can do about it unless we have a mountain of dirt on the DA/mayor/police commissioner. -
Seriously Reed was dynamite with the ball in his hands, not like Devin Hester is but in his own unique way.
-
Gandy was adequate most of the time but sometimes could be reduced to a turnstile. So far walker has been more consistent if you ask me. Also, its amazing how playing in the NFC west will make you look.

It should be noted that at the time in question 3:30 am on a saturday its impossible to move through that intersection at any pace other than a crawl. At first I was pretty peeved to have woken up to this news but upon considering that notion, which anyone whos ever been out late downtown can attest to, Im not so worried anymore. I doubt that felony charges will arise from this. Clearly its not a good thing in any way and must patiently await more details but 1-we are all worried about marshawn being drunk etc etc. but if this "woman" was out on a sat. night at 3:30 she was probably well wasted herself. her recollection could be heavily suspect. 2-Additionally she may have only been grazed by the vehicle as mentioned above at a very low speed. Some !@#$ probably saw this occur or she overreacted and someone called an ambulance, I know from experience where I work(patrons seem to always be in need of emergency medical assistance) that sometimes EMS shows up after things have already come under control but they like to take you to the hospital and stuff anyhow to make sure everythign is ok. Im going to stop rambling now......but look at leonard little, he killed a lady while DWIing(can I make that a verb?) and sufferred minor penalties so I dont think we're looking at a pacman/vick situation with marshawn here. Hopefully things work out and this is enough to scare marshawn (and possibly his entourage) into thinking before they act next time.

Im pretty sure JP used all of his college eligibility.

The workouts are only meaningless as long as the player is in attendance because it seems if a guy skips a few of these that the world is coming to an end.

Question for serious Bills fans
ROCCEO replied to CaliforniaCheez's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives

at least clements was on the field.

I for one, am glad that this ambush turned out better than the last one involving a Bills running back.... http://drx.typepad.com/psychotherapyblog/i...07/07/02/oj.jpg

This sounds very encouraging, although that beers thing sounds like a scam. I barely have the money to buy myeslf one. Also, we are not big stand all game guys. We do stand on big third downs sometimes though and other critical moments. More than standing we are prone to popping up and high fiving the hell out of each other and often pretty much anybody in a reasonable distance. Lots of popping up. The two members of our party who are prone to puking and fighting dropped out htis year because one moved to pittsburgh and the other was busy with work.

I see this as a good thing. Also, good thing it wasn't the recievers coach, since we're not sure what James Hardy's idea of "playful" might be.

Ok, so its section 334, row 13, but still. Thats not that far back and provides a good vantage point. Last yaer I was in row 4 in the 300's at the 5 yard line which were decent seats so I can only imagine these being better. Does anybody else have seats in this area?

Clearly you don't see it in baseball becasue the contracts are guaranteed and players rarely outperform their deals after they sign free agent contracts and they have little leverage before they become free agents. Their arbitration system works well for young players who are going above and beyond but to guarantee contracts in the NFL would screw up the whole system. The rate of injuries which either end careers or reduce a player's ability to perform at their previous level are far more common in football than in baseball. It would be chaotic.

with the crazy rookie money......
ROCCEO replied to BuckyFillUps's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
QBs generally command slightly more money as it goes down the draft order. Top QB picks(top 5 specifically) tend to get ludicrous contracts that go above and beyond that of guys who play other positions. That being said, a lot has to do with contract structure. -
preety cool draft interview of Leodis McKelvin

Didnt you read that Mike Lombardi article. He used to be a top front office guy for the RAIDERS (OMG!!!) and he says there is no such thing as a SHUTDOWN CORNER. Wasted Pick -
excellent piece by Mike Lombardi in SI
ROCCEO replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I read the article yesterday so forgive me if Im a little off on a few points of it, but this is what I recall. It is not a fantastic article IMO , it offers some insight but I agree with what another poster said about taking one point of view and just pushing it forward. The QB thing is a big factor, look at the teams he uses as an example. Oakland and Minn, they had two of the worst QB situations in the league last year. When your QB is Tarvaris Jackson and you have a beefy O-line and C. Taylor and AP, what is one supposed to do? Also, the teams that he cites as being great by getting out to early lead have all-pro QBs. We all know that if ur QB is bunk you're probably not going very far. Also, the turnover battle is critical, i think that his denial of this idea is used to illustrate the concept that missed FGs are turnovers. I agree, they are equally valuable as a turnover if not more. We wonder why coaches punt inside of the opposition's 40. Does anyone else think that maybe Lombardi chose to illustrate the point about the Raiders running successfully but not winning much as a jab at his former employer? Ive enjoyed some of Lombardi's articles but this one merely had its moments. Whomever edited the story needs to step up their game as well. That thing reads like a community college term paper. -
He prob wants one but since we just re-upped him with a four or five year extension not long ago and we picked him out of obscurity and nurtured his development into a tackle, Id say he should def. wait til the end of the year. Does he deserve it???? yeah, and he'll get it, when its his turn. Its Lee's turn right now.

Why isn't Fowler practicing? I saw him last night and he seemed to be moving around fine, of course theres not much agility strength or speed required to eat Thai Lettuce Wraps or Ahi Carpaccio.

Evans offer close to $10 million a year?
ROCCEO replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you have an upper eschelon reciever who is pretty good at staying healthy. SIGN HIM. Because when you have the other pieces but lack a great reciever it can drive a team to get desperate. Look at the Jaguars, they are so desperate for WR star power they signed Jerry Porter to a big deal this offseason, and traded for TROY WILLIAMSON. Oh yeah, they've also used two first round picks in the past four years on WRs and one on a TE. -
1999 Bills-Dolphins playoff game question
ROCCEO replied to Ramius's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont think so, Moulds IMO will always be remembered for the sweet things he did. The only problem is that during his tenure with the team we had minimal success. -
Plus, they traded down and proceeded to draft three consecutive pass catchers: one-year wonder, the sleepy TE and mr. McSlow bad-knees-and-attitude. That being said, I wouldnt have been unhappy had we landed one of those guys in the 2nd. Btw, nice LAMP. As for the raiders fan, I agree completely. Only an idiot would've drafted McFadden for that team at that spot. However, say McFadden is a star, none of it matters. Add the fact that if the Raiders don't take him, he ends up a Jet/Patriot, then he becomes a star......not a chance I prefer to take. I was very happy the Raiders picked McFadden though because I thought it made things stack up well for us. I also don't think he's going to be all that special.

Available Free Agents.
ROCCEO replied to Wilson from Gamehendge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
FYI, you can't sign restricted free agents after the draft. -
This may sound sarcastic, but I completely agree that seinfeld is critical.

Watching the Bills-Bengals replay on NFL Network
ROCCEO replied to udonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well I wasn't that surprised, he was fighting for his job at home against one of the worst defenses in the league. Ive said it before JP has all the skills to burn you, but his execution is lacking. Given the time he's had to prove himself I think its fair to say hes clearly not the next Jim Kelly or even close. If Edwards is so much as the next matt hasselbeck we should be ok. Also, I dont believe having JP on the team this year will be a detriment to the development of edwards. Generally its good to have competition at every position. Quarterback should be no different. -
Just wondering if Spikes has signed w/ anybody?
ROCCEO replied to JStranger76's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah we were running the 46, with the absolute worst compilation of 46 personnel ever. I doubt we would've re-signed Cowart, he was not a Donahoe guy. Donahoe only liked Donahoe guys, I can't remember him re-signing anybody from the previous regime at ANY point(although I can't remember when Moulds signed his deal) . We let Antoine Winfield and Pat Wiliams walk. Cut Ruben because he didn't get along with the coaching staff/administration anymore. Meanwhile Ruben signs with the Bears and plays at a respectable level for another few years while we fill his place with scrubs like Bennie Anderson and Tutan Reyes. Brilliant. The point is that I think its unlikely we would've kept Cowart, who earned a pretty hefty payday in spite of the fact that he was coming off of a major injury. As for Spikes, I think his situation could fit under any of the following categories: 1- Expects to make more than the vet minimum. 2- Is pondering retirement(unlikely, Spikes seems like the kind of player who will play until his skills erode past the point of competitiveness. More likely he hasn't generated much interest) 3- He is still rehabbing his shoulder and teams are waiting until he is healthy again to kick his tires. I'd say the most likely scenario is #3.
