When did this become a Patriots Fan Board?
coltrane34 replied to apuszczalowski's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just like in the rest of every day life, people only listen to the talking heads with blinders on to the real world. -
no.....They will get a lot of players out of free agency. Players want to go to a winning team, so as long as they are winning the pats will have an advantage in the FA market. Plus there is not much of a difference between the 20 and 32 pick. There are more talented players in College than ever. The Pats will be able to fill whatever holes they have through the draft, and ten steal out free agents. Pats must lose to the Colts Badly.

Marty should be fired but the chargers wont pull the trigger.

What did the Pats do today to keep your hate up?
coltrane34 replied to ajflutie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
-um ok their coach is a glorified gym teacher, who would wear a hoodie to his sons wedding. -Their fans are some of the worst in the league. -Their not from Boston -Tom Brady dated and dumped my sister. -The Nfl invents rules to help them. -Bellicheck dosn't acknowledge other coaches, even the ones he has worked with. -Their fans are the worst in the league. -They play in the AFC east. -Harrison is one of the dirtiest players in the league, and has ended many of a career with illegal hits. -Their QB is the face of the league and gets the benifit of calls by the ref's. -They are from the same general area as the RED SOCKS. -They have some of the highest ticket prices in the league. -The Bills have been robbed of the game by the ref's while palying the Pats at least three times. -Tom Brady has been known to abuse children and the mentally challenged. Thats all that I have time to list..Oh yeah their fans are the worst in the league -
Bills Off Season Strategy Pt. 1a

Nice analysis, and it will become fact when the Bills draft a WR at 12 or earlier. Their need at wr will be addressed in the first round. -
Bills Off Season Strategy Pt. 1b

No wonder you are a writer. Good analysis, but you forgot to mention how Buster Davis was going to save this defense, and that Nate couldn't ever go to the Jets, because then I would have to burn my jersey. -
early prediction how the draft exactly will happen 1-16
coltrane34 replied to BILLS #1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually Buster Davis from Florida state will be a better LB in the nfl. But marv is going to trade willis to get Adrian Peterson and a WR in the first round. He may have to give up his second round pick but it could be worth it. If calvin johnson slips to around the fifth pick marv will move to get him, otherwise Jarrett or another big WR will be comming to Buffalo. LB's can be found through free agency or later in the draft. Marv will draft offensive players early especially since he has the cap room to sign clements and fletcher. -
Listen the Bills will be 40 million under the cap next year. They didn't want to negotiate with Fletcher or clements until the season was over to see how they would fit in to the new defense. Now they both could be signed and still leave a ton of money under the cap for them to extend players like JP, willis, and evans. Hopefully after signing all of these players there will still be 8-10 million left to sign a free agent and all of their draft pics. If they make the right moves everyone will be happy next year.

Clements or Fletcher: Who do you keep?
coltrane34 replied to el Tigre's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
keep them both -
you think if we beat the Ravens...
coltrane34 replied to SuperBills12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that by playing well and losing by very close margins this year will net the Bills at least two national games. Plus once they start wining the early games next season the new flexible schedule will allow them to get one or two more games. Look at Green Bay this week. -
I'm more concerned about hididng tendancies. Once opposing teams see that you can't run to convert short yardages, they just drop back into coverage or blitz the QB. Teams have to be able to at least OB sneek it for one yard, or have a back that can put his head down and get one or two yards. Thats why I thought a-train was brought in, to get the short tough yards. Now imagine lining up on third and short with a-train in the backfield and running it some times, and using the pass or playaction other times. The defense would have so much more trouble scheming against it. It would also take a lot of pressure off of JP who has had to pull some long third down conversions out of his arse.

Run it again
-
Question: Why do the Bills on 80% of their third and under 4 yards pass the ball out of a spread formation? Answer: ?????????? Bad play calling? They did it three times last sunday, third and short and JP is in the shotgun. They only ran a draw play when it was third and 18 to get into field goal range. Come on at least make it look like its a possibility that you may run the ball. Or better yet line up and run the ball on third and one. This is a pattern that has been repeated all season. By not converting on these third downs the Bills have forced themselves into bad or desperate situations. Many of these situations JP and the offense has been able to overcome. But they would be so much better if they could run to convert third down on some of these drives. In 2006 the bills have converted 58/186 third downs , or roughly 32%. I think the Bills could greatly increase that number just by better playcalling decisions on third downs.

Lindell reportedly re-signed
coltrane34 replied to MadBuffaloDisease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why is everyone so excited. I would like a kicker who is ready to go on the field and try to win the game for his team, regardless if he is three yards out of his comfort zone. He should have looked at the coaches on sunday and said "hell yeah I can make it, put me in." Instead he was indecisive and the team lost. He also missed a game winner at Indy. So I am a little disapointed that he would be held in such high regard. -
19,000 Titans vs Bills Tickets left
coltrane34 replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No excuses. The game is at 100. You can go to the game and even make it back to rochester by 600. It is a day game so stop saying that christmas eve and family gatherings will interfere. Suck it up. -
Al Wilson in the Pro Bowl and Not Fletcher?!
coltrane34 replied to SD Jarhead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nate, London, Evans, and Peters should have all been considered for backup positions in the pro bowl. I know that I voted for them, how about you? -
You should be able to stand and dance at concerts, stand and cheer when your team is on defense, and stand and cheer when there is a big play. Otherwise we are living in a society that sucks. People go to the games to cheer, the fans caused two false starts in the last game alone. You are a bad and very uptight person if you tell people at a concert or game to sit down.
-
Wow its amazing what the naysayers will see. I dont like you at all. You should go cheer for the colts.
-
Obviously it has to be the right veteran QB, and I am glad they didn't pick Matty L, JP can produce if her has a real team around him.
-
They should march OJ to the fifty yard line and let 80,000 people throw rocks and beer cans at him until he is dead. Then they should use the carcass to feed animals at the zoo, possibly the pigs if there are any. Then they should take his name off of the Wall and add Henry Jones.
-
A Qb like russell in the later rounds is a much smarter pick. I am not against a later round pick comming in and working his way to the starting position. I am just against using such a high pick on a player that is not going to produce for years if ever. Especially when there are soooooo many other needs.

Calvin Johnson should be a Bill next year
-
No matter what happens with JP, the bills must realize that they need a lot more than just a QB. Regardless of how you feel about JP, his surrounding cast has helped to put him in this position. Bad playcalls, a bad line, bad recievers and TE's(except Evans), and so on. The blame can be spread around the entire team. You cannot draft a rookie QB to fix these problems. These problems are exactly what can be addressed in the draft. A big WR, a couple good lineman (offensive and defensive), and possibly a LB who can help stop the run can all be found there. The only issue that cant be addressed by the draft is the playcalling, where for some reason the Bills think that they can throw on every third and short, and run on the first two downs. Drafting Smith or Quinn will still leave all of these issues and probably increase the amount of mistakes actually made by the QB. I have faith in JP if all of these issues are addressed, and they take the reins off and allow him to do what he does. But if a new QB is brought into Buffalo he must be a veteran. Someone who can allow these other lesser players over achieve. Someone who is sure of his qualifications and can help these young guys learn to win. Its a state of mind with the coaches, players, and fans. It seems like all just wait for something bad to happen in the game and find a way to lose. JP (or another vetran QB )must be the one on the field to show some heart and turn this mentality around. Quinn or Smith cannot thrive in this situation and will force the Bills fans to suffer through more difficult seasons.

Ok again with the stats. Moon and Kelly's first seasons were not even with the NFL. I remember people calling for Elway and Kelly to be pulled in their first NFL seasons. Farve was traded and then became great, and Manning did suck a long with the rest of his team. All I am saying is that no matter what JP getting every snap is going to help this team in the future more than replacing of trading him. You have to let him play through this or they will have wasted the past two years, and possibly the next three in developing another young QB.
-
Um, wrong. All I am saying is that you need to give a great QB time to develop. JP has all of the tools, the team needs to give him time to learn how to best use those tools. If the Bills give up too early some other team will benifit from their development of this guy. We all new this season was going to be tough, lets make this hard season mean something, instead of giving up and starting over yet again. Let these guys develop and build around them.
