Your right the local businesses do not benifit at all from the influx of home and visiting fans for the 10 home games every season. Because none of the fans from out of town get hotel rooms, buy food, gas, refreshments, parking, and so on. They must not even pay sales tax on everything they buy. Not to mention the fact that the team dosn't generate good will, charity, and tax moneys for the city. Yeah no benifit at all

Is the Ralph really safe to go to?
coltrane34 replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let me just enter my perfect bubble world where me and my family can never be influenced or touched by anyone who I don't like or agree with. I bet the Ralph is safer than 85% of the rest of the world. Open your eyes, there are bad things and people everywhere. You don't get some kind of pass to live in a dream world. People are dying around the world every day, and you are concerned about having more cops at the game? Stay in the safety of your own house, homeschool your kids so that they reflect your beliefs, and never become tainted with the real world, and please never go to the Ralph. -
Just to ease those spitefull Bills fans who think and seem to want the team to move to LA, it aint gonna happen. Goodell can not move the team even if he wanted to. The loss of the team would be so destructive to the Buffalo economy, that goodell would be viewed as a destroyer of cities. Just like the Saints, the Bills will not now or ever be moved to LA. The league is not in the business of destroying economies, and they would never be able to escape that monacre if these teams were moved. There are other teams with no stadium deals, less merchandising sales, less dedicated fans, and cities that could care less if they were there. Look at the Vikings, Rams, Raiders, or possibly an expansion team to fill that vacancy. So stop being a stupid Bills fan by alwayse assuming the worst for this franchise. Its this bad karma generated by fans who expect to lose that is putting the jinx on this franchise.

Don't get caught up on Manning. JP is not our problem. A poorly structured offensive system, bad play calls, no discipline, and fans that are ignorant to the sport of football as a whole are the problem. Watch the whole field and not just the QB, the team is putting Jp in situations that are very difficult to overcome. Dosn't matter who is in there.

Every car and oil company are happily and slowly killing us as they count our mon ey. They all could be producing different vehicles with different fuels. With this attitude it is not surprising that oil and tire companies ripped out all of the light rail systems in most cities to allow for highways. Yeah, spend time worrying about the song, it is exactly what they want. Keep sucking on the oil tit as we all go to hell.

My point is that giving up on JP now is giong to set the team back years. Letting him grow and make mistakes will allow the team to concentrate on other issues. A solid team around him will make him look a million times better.
-
But he did have the Team behind him and took every snap in every game his rookie and soph seasons.

For anyone who thinks Jp should be pulled, remember that 99% of hall of Fame quarterbacks have not been very productive in their first full season of starts. Almost every good QB and even the great Manning, Farve, Kelly, Moon, Elway......I could go on, have all struggled mightily in the beginnings of their historic careers. JP should not and will not be pulled this entire Season. The combination of the entire teams mistakes will not be put on his shoulders. You people that want to see Nall or some rookie QB take over this team are ignorant to the game of football as a whole. With a young Quarterback you have to be ready to take some lumps in order to make him better. When you draft a young QB you have to let him develop over at least three to four years. If you give up before the kid has even a full season of starts then you should have just gotten a veteran free agent who has all ready been developed by another team. JP has everything he needs to be a premiere QB. Build around him, let him win the team and fans over with his persistance, and he will be great. Don't be a mularkey and try to ruin this teams chances for another few seasons.

No matter what you think the future holds for JP

Isn't Warren Moon in the hall of fame? -
Sorry, but can't agree. The difference in this game was Brady, plain and simple as much as I can't stand the guy. We had more heat on him all day than NE had on JP, and when he needed to TB just calmly stepped around in the pocket and made key throws. Heck he even missed one or two or the score may have bben worse. What did JP produce? A whopping two FG's , a couple of fumbles and a horrible INT. He just doesn't show the awareness and certainly not the almost uncanny ability to sense what's going on around him that TB has and has shown since day one. This is the "it" factor. And face it, we haven't had a guy with "it" around here in many years. Very few teams have "great" OL's in this league any more-you simply cannot keep them all around with the cap being what it is. This makes a QB with "it" more important than ever. I HATE the Pats, but check out their OL. They've lost how many starters since their first SB? Yet they just plug in another guy and move on. Amazing how we can't seem to find a single OL that can play. It's got more than a little something to do with the QB, and we have no one there right now to have any chance at a playoff type season. And won't until that changes. 815414 Tom Brady is a Hall of Fame QB who has worked wonders w/ the pats. But he was put in the perfect situation at the perfect time. You can't compare him w/ JP. JP hasnt had a great and consistant coaching staff, defense, and other guys who have been able to somehow get it done. Give him time or someone else will.
-
One of which is Kitna who is playing with a bad line, who now has 3 replacements on a bad line, and one of his WR's out. 815405 Martz dosn't run the ball (except against buffalo), kitna has one of the most talented young WR in the league, and Detriot has had to throw the ball to stay in games.
-
They have proven that you just can't throw QB's at the problem to fix the team. You must build a solid team around them and put them in situations that utilize their abilities. Develop JP while you build around him, don't waste time, money, and draft picks on some unproven QB. The other players need to be there first. Look at any other great QB, they all had great players around them helping them carry the team.
-
Throw up any stat you like, people who actually know a thing or two about the NFL understand that JP is not our problem. He is protected by a poor o-line, he is throwing to undersized receivers, he has had to run two completely different offensive systems, he has not had good consistent offensive play calling since coming into the league, and he has tried to put the whole city on his shoulders. Not to mention that he seems to be the only one on the team with any heart. Any Qb from Jim Kelly to Brett Farve to Joe Montana would struggle in this situation. Stop reading stats that don't matter. Jp needs to be surrounded by a line that can block, receivers that can get open past four yards, coaches that do not make bad decisions, and fans that cheer. Getting a QB in the draft and giving up on Jp who will be a great QB is the dumbest thing the Bills could do. It would set the franchise back at least three to four years. It would also not allow for the Bills to draft some great lineman on both sides of the ball, pretty much putting them back in the situation they are in now. A situation where they have an unproven guy running for his life behind center, and a team that doesn’t seem to care.

Observations from Sectio 336 from yesterday
coltrane34 replied to TravelingDad48's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed, the tailgate is the best part. But we took someone to the game for their first nfl experience and the whole stadium feels different. No cheering, hi-fives, first down signs. I didnt even hear one pittsburgh sucks chant. If the team is gonna suck we might as well party down like the bills fans that we used to be. -

There is still passion in the stadium. I am not going to be able to speak for a week. But it seems like the crowd gives up at the first sign of adversity. Granted the team has not performed well, but it sucks when the fans fold faster than superman on laundry day. You have to believe there is a chance or what is the point of going? -
A running play without a fullback would be great too. And they should pass on first downs occasionally, it just needs to be desguised better. I can call the play about 90% of the time just based on their formation. Run out of passing formations and vice versa. It just seems like they could be covering their weaknesses better, instead of just putting everything on JPs shoulders.
-
My biggest issue with the team this season is that they keep putting themselves in bad situations. By coming out and passing a lot on first downs and third and short situations, they are giving the defenses an advantage and hurting JP. Not to mention calling fake punts, and fourth and two pass plays. A hard noise pound it out running team should be setting the tone with the running game especially when your RB is the best player on the team(besides morman). Instead the Bills are throwing on third and 2 or 3 instead of just running for it. You have to be able to get two yards. Now I know the line is having issues, but the play calls are making it harder on them. You have to set the tone with Willis, allow the play action to develop a long with the midrange passing game, and then the defense wont be able to dictate the pace and direction of the game. Make the defense stack up in response to the run and the passing game will come much easier. Then Jp can audible out of the run if he sees a weakness in the secondary, instead of trying to create one. Better calls and a consistent run game will also save our quarterback from running for his life on any pass over three yards. RUN THE BALL, THEN RUN IT AGAIN, AND AGAIN.......

dick was great but jaws feels like he is commentating some kind of highlight reel, for some reason rubs me the wrong way.

CBSSPORTSLINE Preview W/ Kirwan

it ok JP slept w his wife -
Just a quick poll to see who has the spirit. I will call a Buffalo win 24-17. Does anyone else have faith in their team?
-
ok lets give up all ready. If u noticed it was actually the coaching staff that had trouble getting calls into JP and they caused the delay. In terms of his throwing ability, he made good decisions with the ball. He skipped out two passes because he is rusty as any QB would be in his first game. Other than that he scrambled out of trouble well and threw some great passes. Two were plainly dropped by his recievers on the first series, and a few other good ones were to convert third downs. Open your eyes you neysayer and cheer on your team, they are better than you think.

Early Offseason Power Rankings from Fox...
coltrane34 replied to NJ_BillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well maybe the perdiction will be as wrong as last year -
they learned absolutely nothing by not starting JP. Actually they lost another chanch to give him some game experience, or at least give him another chance to prove himself. Any QB besides big ben needs at least 12 starts before the begin to get it. Look at Palmer, Eli, Boller, Harrington, Farve, Elway......none of these palyers looked good in their first 10 starts. JP needs experience and a line to protect him. The bills lost a goodchance for JP to gain experience against a division rival.
