  1. So they basically just drafted Neufeld, but ten years younger? That makes good sense...
  2. http://www.aiabuffalo.com/ccb.html Just curious. Sounds like a good event.
  3. Cieslak will get cut again this year, along with Everett. We'll draft a TE on day 2. We'll keep 4 tight ends - Royal, Neufeld, draft pick, Murphy and will not keep a true fullback on the roster.
  4. Not going to happen - the Bills would need to decide that they don't want Royal around - it's not often that teams would keep two high profile, expensive TEs on the same team.
  5. Neufeld clearly has more value on the team than Everett. Everett goes before Neufeld does.
  6. I think Everett gets cut after camp, but I don't see us drafting a TE. We have far greater needs at other positions.
  7. You think? I think Neufeld would have emerged towards the end of the season had he not had to deal with that injury. I'm guessing he's already had surgery and will probably be ready for offseason mini camps and training. I was excited to see what Cieslak could do this year. He's a tough player and showed some sparks. But I wouldn't necessarily like to seem line up as an H-back. He really struggled those last couple games when Shelton was out. Neufeld seems to be the better blocker of the two, and based on what I've seen, a far better special teamers. I was at the Miami game and saw Cieslak out there on kick off - he was the last guy down the field! Really slow. I was a little disappointed that he didn't do better - I was rooting for him. I think these two will be going at it again during training camp. Both of them won't be on the team, unless the coaches don't see a need for a true fullback on the roster and decide to keep 4 tight ends (could happen). If they don't, Neufeld makes it over Cieslak if he stays healthy. And that's a big "if."
  8. I'm sure you can agree that with Jacksonville missing two of its top defenders last week because of injuries, it's defense was definitely weakened.
  9. I figured. He had a great game last week against a week defense. This week was going to be a big test for him. Now, he did have the one catch, and he seemed to do okay blocking. But I don't think he's the next big thing in Buffalo.
  10. I don't think Cieslak did anything special - the difference in this game vs. any other is that the coaches finally included the tight ends in the game plan. Neufeld has the only TD catch out of any of our tight ends - I wouldn't say he was a waste of a roster spot. The coaches saw something that made them keep Neufeld over Cieslak (I move I agree with) - no doubt that will be an interesting camp battle between those two again next year.
  11. Ah yes, Cieslak has a four yard catch and he's our savior. His blocking skills are questionable - he totally whiffed one early in the game. Had he been able to cut it, he would've made the team initially instead of Neufeld. Curiously enough, has Everett seen his last days at TE? First Neufeld replaces him in the line up before he got hurt, and Cieslak was out there instead of Everett. Is he hurt or did the coaches finally get tired of his penalties every week?
  12. I think Evans has had more penalties than Neufeld this year. I know Everett and Royal have. I'm sure there are others. Cut them too?
  13. Cieslak ain't squat. The coaches were handing him the #2 spot during the offseason and he quickly worked his way down the depth chart. Neufeld will be a big loss, especially on special teams. He started on just about every unit. And based on the last two games, it looked like Neufeld had actually replaced Everett as the #2. He's definitely a loss. And with Villarial out, JP better watch his back.
  14. Actually, Neufeld will be a big loss. He started on all the special teams units. He's done really well blocking on the wedge. I bet our special teams will suffer without him and Stamer out there. And Neufeld had actually replaced Everett as the #2 tight end. Lord forbid Royal gets hurt - then it's Everett and I'm guessing Cieslak as our tight ends. Scary, very scary.
  15. Anyone else notice that Everett actually got benched? Neufeld went in in the second half last week with Royal and looked like he was the #2 yesterday until he got hurt. Hopefully his injury isn't too significant - Neufeld seems to be the better option than Everett.
  16. I've said all year that he should be our #2. Put him in with Royal and sit Everett on the bench!
  17. Shelton got hurt at the end of the second quarter on the last kick off return. He wobbled off the field. Not sure what happened. Neufeld actually did a pretty decent job as his replacement. Saw him do some good blocking and he got open a couple times - but JP was clearly looking to throw to Evans in triple coverage down the field, so I'm guessing he didn't realize he had guys open.
  18. Oft-injured. What does that mean? He had a knee injury at the end of last season and sat out a week in training camp with a minor foot injury. In the three years he's been here, it's the only time he's missed playing time because of injuries. That's oft-injured? True that. Great assessment. I'm excited to see how things go. I like the notion of the Bills being their own worst enemy. It's true. They've got the talent. Hopefully they can bring it all together and have a solid showing this year.
  19. But you'd be the first one pissing in your pants asking for an autograph if you ran into one of them...
  20. If I recall correctly, I think Neufeld spent his first year in the league as a fullback with the Cowboys. Makes sense that he's more of an h-back and can fill in as a back up if necessary. I guess he showed enough in that last preseason game for the coaches to feel the same way.
  21. If it's strictly a numbers game, Cieslak's gone. He can be on the practice squad. And Neufeld managed to show his versatility in the game Thursday with all the back up FBs out with injuries. Neufeld stays, Cieslak goes.
  22. Well, it looks like he's going to stick around. Cieslak got a ton of pub during the offseason but faltered once he got pads on. Neufeld continues to start on special teams. The third TE is going to be a special teams contributor, so it appears that Neufeld will again be on the team.
  23. Cieslak gets cut - Neufeld stays. And who's your back up fullback - Goldsberry? He's been hurt most of camp.
  24. Stamer's situation will be an interesting one. With the signing of Odom last week, and now this, it doesn't look good. The Neufeld-Everett move isn't surprising. Even when Neufeld moved up the depth chart a couple weeks ago, it still looked like Everett was going in as the #2. And with Neufeld out all last week, his slipping isn't a surprise. What's more interesting is that Cieslak is still in that 4th spot. Looks like he's headed to the PS.
