  1. Tell Bessie to put down the scones and get in the gym. Television is a visual medium.
  2. Sources at One Bills Drive whisper that Michael Jasper will model the new uniform while standing atop the Field House swatting at clouds of circling biplanes.
  3. If the two words, "Friggin Lonnie" run through your mind every time you see the #84...
  4. That is a GREAT idea. IIRC 1LT Kalsu was killed serving with an 8inch howitzer battery at FSB RIPCORD in the A Shau Valley in 1970. That was a brutal month long siege / slugfest - a type of Khe Sanh in miniature. Renaming The Ralph to Kalsu Field would be a fitting and appropriate tribute. How would you get something like that started?
  5. You nailed it! Moving Maybin to OLB is an attempt to salvage something from a wasted pick and millions in lost $. He is going to have to work his everlovin' tail off just to get on the field. If he brings some value as a pass rusher he has a chance to stick but he hasn't been able to get that done yet. You can't hide an OLB that plays flat footed and can't cover. Maybe he and Erik Flowers can get together and open a bar.
  6. He sucks - i.e. he is not worth the 9th pick...glad I could help. More to the point IF all the OTs are gone, there will be an outstanding D (front 7) player available. We have other needs and this is a weak year for QB's. This team is not going anywhere next year and the Bills will be drafting in the top 10 in 2011 (assuming there will be a 2011 NFL season) and the QB class looks promising next year. No need to reach for Claussen. Rebuild the lines and purge the roster.
  7. We have a winner. Stink is calling it like he sees them. Tampa's ground game is to deal with.
  8. Fine...whatever...I think the guys in the locker room know this already. Dick can go into "Us v. The World" mode after: He tells the D how they are going to stop Brady to Moss and tells the O how they are going to protect Edwards, control the pace of the game and score enough points to win. Give them a winning game plan that they can execute. Wow, what a concept. This team has never been prepared to take on the Pats*. If this pattern is repeated then all the spirited blather in the world won't change a thing.
  9. Bills 0 - Pats* 24 at halftime Final Bills 10 - Pats* 38 It may be worse depending on how many points the Pats* want to ring up. They could score a TD every time they get the ball. If the Pats* get extra possessions as a result of this idiotic 3 & out no-huddle offense and if Brady plays the whole game they could score 8 touchdowns. I'm just glad it's the early game...
  10. Well, for the sake of accuracy, you can count all the good looking girls in Boston with the fingers from one hand. Just sayin...
  11. uh huh...The kool-aid stand is two blocks down. Pick up a packet of crazy on the way.
  12. I'd take the Pats* and give you 17 points. It kills me to say it but I don't see how Edwards gets out of this game alive. 24-0 at half time 38 - 10 final. Brady will be playing catch with Moss all night. The Bills just don't have the talent to play these guys. Fire Modrack, Guy, Jauron and start from scratch.
  13. If DJ gets the chop, how can you justify keeping Modrak, Guy and the rest of the front office people? I am no fan of DJ but the "football guys" aren't eaxctly filling this roster with talent. When DJ goes I think Brandon is going to hand out a few more pink slips. Burn down the barn, kill the rats and start from scratch.
  14. This slander stopped being funny a long time ago. Read a book on the Battle of Verdun (start with Sir Alistar Horne's "The Price of Glory") and then tell me if you still think the French soldier is a coward.
  15. True I just wonder what will happen when DJ blows another challenge or screws up time management at the end of a half or makes another bone headed game decision that costs the team points and TO goes freakin' bonkers on the sideline in full view of the cameras. Picture that post-game PC and DJ with his vacant visage and happy bromides "It's hard to win in this league..." and compare that with TO ranting in the locker room. This could get really ugly.
  16. Could be that DJ is not too happy about all this, or maybe the Bills FO is just being smart. Don't know if it has been posted but... http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true
  17. That was the worst performance I have seen in some time. This team is soft, stupid and lost. Edwards has got to be a basket case after this one. I'll contribute to DJ's cab fare to the airport. Tell him not to worry about his stuff we will send it on to him. 6-10..... Let's start taking about what the new coaching staff is going to look like and which safety we are going to get with the 8th pick in the draft.
  18. Not sure if it has been posted but... I suppose we will see: http://www.sportsline.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6315047/10142859 "The last rookie to sign ended his standoff Wednesday when Jacksonville Jaguars' first-round pick Derrick Harvey agreed to a five-year deal that could pay him $30 million. That leaves Buffalo Bills tackle Jason Peters as the only player not with his team, making him the last holdout. The Bills are holding their ground on Peters, who wants a new contract. And they should. Why? Like Harvey, Peters will show up. Nobody sits out seasons any more in the NFL. There's too much money to be made and only so many earning years in a body. Harvey wasn't going to sit out a season, and neither will Peters. The Jaguars knew it, and pretty much held their ground. The Bills know it, too. Peters is scheduled to make $3.25 million this season, which is $191,175 per game, on a deal he signed in 2006. Want to bet he's there on opening day?"
  19. Kiper is a chump. Everytime I hear him running his yap I think about the b*tch slap Bill Polian gave him on national TV. Just tell me about the player and spare me your BS about the team needs and 'value'. A 4th round reach? Why? Because it says so on Kiper's 'draft board'? When the guy is on the blame line for something then I'll be interested in his opinions on 4th round draft values and their relation to team needs. Mike Mayock is a better draft analyst. He is thoughtful, thorough and he knows the difference between facts and opinions. Kiper should study some film of Mike Mayock.
  20. Lots of disappointing losses but the most painful is wide right. There we were stuck out in that damn desert. Our days were pretty full but I managed to keep abreast of the NFL playoffs. The Bills were going to the Superbowl!! I was over the moon! On the negative side, I was getting beaten up every night at the command and staff meeting because our mail wasn’t getting pushed up. As the battalion adjutant, unit mail was my responsibility but I could only distribute what I received. The fact that nobody was getting mail forward didn’t seem to matter to the boss and higher HQ didn’t seem very interested. Let me add that I was running a low fever at the time in addition to experiencing a prolonged and rather nasty bout of gastrointestinal distress. After a few days I got tired of hearing about it so I grabbed a GPS and my driver and I loaded up the Hummer with diesel, water, MRE’s and Imodium tablets and headed out on a quest to locate the postal company back in the sprawling log bases. In the back of my mind I was thinking that we may luck out and find the REMFs listening to the Super Bowl on the radio. Long story short, we trekked back to the tap line highway and never found the postal unit. While the Bills were playing the Giants we were bumping up the trail on the way back to the line tired, dusty PO’d and empty handed. I hadn’t slept in two days and my guts hurt something awful but I figured all would be well if the Bills won the big one! My dad was taping the game and he promised to send me a copy. We arrived back at the unit in the early morning and as I pulled up to the command post I spotted one of my buddies (a psychotic Packers fan) walking over to me. I stepped out of the Hummer and puked my guts out. My bud came around, handed me a water bottle and told me the news. “I’m sorry man, we heard that Norwood missed a field goal at the end of game, Giants pulled it out. Did you find our mail?” Now I gotta tell you brothers and sisters, THAT HURT.
  21. I'd be a Sabers fan and a fan of the NHL if I could see agame once in a while. Is ESPN ever going to get the NHL back on the air? VS is lame beyond belief. That studio show looks like it was produced by a vocational high school.
  22. The man knows how to tackle, good awareness - gets through trash and finds the ball. I didn't see Ole Miss play last year. I'd be curious to know what all the SEC junkies think.
  23. Willis who? Oh yeah, he is the Ravens starting tailback right? Let it go man...I want a win over an AFC rival. If the Bills are playing good football and in the hunt, that will be story line enough. If the media mill are playing up another angle all that means to me is that we can look forward to a top ten pick in '08.
