Steelers Blocked Punt Schematic
zow2 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Same here. Punter acted like he had time to have a coffee and donut back there. If there's no urgency going forward or to recognize pressure, he will have more punts blocked this season. -
The 4th down play, executed properly
zow2 replied to The Firebaugh Kid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Josh sold it horribly, but the Steelers DB made the play by not following McKenzie all the way when he went in motion. The Pittsburgh guy made a nice play and blew the whole thing up. -
Same with throwing 25 yards downfield on 3rd down into double/triple coverage for the huge play when the easy 8-12 yard dumpoff is right there. He can't control himself. Yeah the fumbling is an issue that he could clean up if he chooses to concentrate on it. I'm good with him falling forward on 4th and shorts...or scrambling on broken pass plays. But i can do without all the called runs for Allen. Not only is there a high rate of fumbling, but they are placing him in harms way, for what...4-5 yards?!? Often times less.

That was an awful game on Saturday. I have nothing good to say about it...from the head coach and coordinators to the QB, on down. I'll try to give one positive, I thought the D-Line looked pretty stout. They held their own for as long as they could. The athletic QB killed em.

A Few Thoughts about the Steelers Game, in no particular order
zow2 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Josh not taking the easy dump-off plays to get positive yardage was bad. Turned out to be drive killing on a few occasions. I mean on 3rd and 3 or 4th and 8, whatever...why are you throwing downfield into coverage when guys are not wide open. Just take the easy underneath stuff. Josh is just dying to hit chunk plays but against Pittsburgh they needed to adjust. -
Getting real tired of watching the Offense get to the line of scrimmage with 5 wide and no backfield. I think the jig is up with that. NFL defensive coordinators have the blue print. Not everyone can do what the Steelers do, but there are plenty of good defenses that we will see.

A Few Thoughts about the Steelers Game, in no particular order

my thoughts similar to others: - still no real threat of a running game - Pitt was super physical with our WRs - o-line is not any better than last year - Josh holding the ball half second too long - play calling was bad. too cute and pass happy. Some weird non 4th down run calls for Josh for little gain and placing him in harms way. - defensive line played more stout than last year - penalties already an issue like several games last year -KC is still better and the AFC team to beat. i’d rank Cleveland ahead of the Bills too. They can run the ball and throw. -
Miami barely beat New England.
zow2 replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
People are silly on this board. Respect the opponent. Miami and Flores will be laser focused to beat Buffalo (who they’ve been embarrassed by and defeated by several times in a row. i’m expecting a real battle in this one -
Every game worries me. but when it’s a division rival that we’ve beaten several times in a row it’s even more concerning. Kinda like Pittsburgh was due to pay back the Bills from the last couple seasons, i feel that way about Miami. Hope i’m wrong. You can say that Tua sucks all ya want, but the Bills still have to prove it on the field.

I Can't Wait 'Til The Home Opener!!!!!!!
zow2 replied to R. Rich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
too early for me to start looking forward to the 2022 opener? too soon? the theme will be Josh Allen resurrection season -
If Cleveland finds a way to lose this game that would be devastating for them.

A brand new stadium with 50% public funding is fine with me. The NFL is the only thing that puts Buffalo on the world map. Without it, Buffalo is Toledo. My only quibble would be, for the state/County to pony up a bit more to place a retractable roof on that thing. At least be able to use the facility year round. Spend the extra now, reap the benefits for 20 years.

https://twitter.com/TomPelissero/status/1432693929145737217 Washington is waiving WR Antonio Gandy-Golden, per source. Just another example of Brandon Beane being the smartest guy in the room. I was thinking last year the Bills would draft AGG over Gabe Davis. Obviously that would've been the wrong move.

Eh, i called and eventually got to customer retention, but the guy was by the book. Earlier this year I had already received $55/month off through January. So he reminded me about that and would not offer another large discount beyond an extra $10/month ($120yr). I could've threatened, but over the last decade I've "negotiated" free Sunday ticket Max at least 5 times and much larger discounts the other times. I didn't have the fight in me this year, so I just took it. Life is Ok, I can pay for the service once in a while.

Bills 2021 Training Camp will be at OBD
zow2 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry for the good fans of Rochester, but I don't think they will ever go back to SJF. I hope they don't. You think the players really love getting crammed into those dorm rooms and doubling up? as well as having to bring their own supplies and TV's, etc.. That was the norm in the 80's and 90's but things have changed. How many years did the Bills NOT make the playoffs after their SJF stays? I think it was many. I won't miss that place. -
RD 3, Pick 30 (93): Spencer Brown, OT (Northern Iowa)
zow2 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
True. and I suspect Beane has a helluva list of undrafted free agents full of fast RBs, WRs and corners -

Most boring draft in Bills history. But I trust you Beane!! -
The Lesson in the Sabres Horrendous Season
zow2 replied to IronyAbounds's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's almost as if the Pegulas have done every single thing wrong with the Sabres over the course of a decade to lead to this. Maybe the most non-competitive NHL club since the early Cleveland Barons or KC Scouts. They were only marginally better with Eichel and Ullmark but still league bottom feeders. I would trade Eichel and as many of the core as possible,,,,get a goalie and retool the entire roster. I'd only keep Reinhart, Cozens, Ullmark and McCabe. Everyone else should be traded. Ideally the Pegula's would put the team up for sale too. They have proven they suck as hockey owners. They've ruined a once proud franchise. -
Not a Trubisky fan at all. I would have preferred Nate Peterman over this guy.

Not one national sports show (that I've heard) has mentioned anything about JJ Watt being interested in...or being a fit in Buffalo. It's the offseason and Buffalo appears to be irrelevant nationally.

It's funny, a friend of mine from Tampa said even late in the season and vs. Saints and GB, the fans weren't all that into it. The city and sports talk were not abuzz. He said it's much more of a Tampa Bay Lightning town. and when they were going for the Cup the entire city had Lightning flags on cars and that's all anyone wanted to talk about. Bucs not so much. But good for them. It amazes me how we're dying up here for a Sabres playoff game let alone a Super Bowl victory. I just can't imagine how great it must feel to win Both the same year.

Talented QB's like Russ are seeing the way stars like Brady and Lebron are orchestrating player signings and want to get in on some of that star power clout action. They want a voice too. It doesn't work like that in the NFL but players are gonna try. Brady is an exception. He's earned the right. And he's also taken team friendly wages too. Doesn't hurt that his spouse is worth like $300million at least.... a little bit easier to take less if it helps build a winning team.
