  1. Yes, but that's just not right. Bills should not have to pay a guy who can't play because he held out. His first game check should be the first game he actually is active for.
  2. Bills 26, Seahawks 20 At halftime, the game is close, 13 to 10 The Bills have the game in hand at the start of the 4th quarter, 23 to 10 Seahawks stage a comeback in the 4th, including a late TD just before the 2 minute warning to pull within 26 - 20 But, out of timeouts, the onside kick fails and the Bills run out the clock to hang on
  3. I wish I could report to you exactly when he said this - must have been on ESPN or NFL Network - but there was a play last year where he hopped up in a hole incorrectly and resulted in a long TD run (I think it was the Jaguars game - Fred Taylor). The next week he did one of those appearances and he was asked about it and he emphatically insisted he was in the right spot and that someone else was in the wrong spot. Even if this was true (I don't see how it could be - as the OLB he had contain on that play, no question), you don't say this. Thankfully he did not try to name the player (probably because there was no player), but had he done that as well I would've been up front calling for his immediate release back then.
  4. Yes, Whitner. Typing Never after his name doesn't change the fact that he is the leader of that defense and a productive playmaker who does not point fingers at other players when he makes a mistake. Crowell's true character has come out, and it's unfortunate.
  5. Crowell was far from the most productive player on the defense. He was continually out of position and then would later claim "it wasn't me". He let his teammates down in two ways when he did that - messing up the play in the first place and then trying to hang someone else out to dry afterwards.
  6. Honestly, then, it should not be up to him. A regular employee has to ask his boss for vacation. If he is the last one to ask at Xmas, then if somebody needs to be there to man the fort, he is SOL. Carrying the analogy to this situation, if a medical doctor does not certify that he is unable to perform his duties or will risk further injury unless he has the procedure, then it is up to the team (a.k.a. the boss) to decide if the timing is good
  7. In all seriousness, if the Bills were even mildly thinking of spending money on this guy instead of Evans, this pretty much closes the book on that one. I am very disappointed in this player - this is the kind of thing I laugh at other teams when it happens...instead of having surgery when it is identified, they wait until right before the season so they can get paid for doing nothing. Crowell will come back at some point and start as was planned - but then, this will be his last season as a Bill for this little stunt (especially after being caught out of position so many times last year).
  8. Agreed - using two returners means one less blocker. Sure, the second guy can get up there and block, but neither of those two is exactly Darian Barnes. It has it's moments, but there's no way April uses that as the standard package on returns.
  9. Jauron addressed this partially in the past week by saying "they would all get time" and "players get dinged giving someone else an opportunity" (not exact quotes, I am paraphrasing). The way I read these comments is that the first kickoff we field in the Seattle game will be McGee and the first punt we field will be Parrish. Then, as each game goes on, there will either be minor injuries (hopeully not) or someone like McGee will have just got off the field of a long defensive series (for example) and it sounded like Jauron would not hesitate to put in a fresh McKelvin in those cases. If McKelvin makes the most of these chances early in the season, I have no doubt he can take over on a more full time basis as the season progresses, but it depends what he does with the opportunities. I'm sure Bobby April also has a package with both McGee and McKelvin back there at the same time (I think we saw it early in the first preseason game) but I don't expect them to pull that out but once in a while and for special circumstances. This is all my opinion anyway, based on Jauron's comments.
  10. Sorry, but I'm just watching the Browns - Lions replay on NFL Network - yes, I actually watch replays of these preseason games - and they had a live check in with Faulk, Sharpe and Deion from the upcoming Bills / Colts game tomorrow, and Faulk was asked something about keys for the Bills (I missed the exact question) but from his answer, apparently we have a new player named Paul Poshsutzky who is important for us. I haven't heard of this guy, is he new?
  11. Per kffl.com.... Browns | Daniels acquired Wed, 20 Aug 2008 13:06:05 -0700 Edgar Thompson, of the Palm Beach Post, reports the Cleveland Browns have acquired CB Travis Daniels from the Miami Dolphins for an undisclosed draft pick. There was some discussion on the board earlier that the Browns might be interested in Youboty considering they need CB help, but it looks like they made their choice already. It would be too bad if the Bills later cut Youboty and we had a chance to get something for him from the Browns by making the decision now. It seems like Corner has passed him on the depth chart, and unlike others here I do not see them cutting James. I think the corners will be McGee Greer James Corner McKelvin (in order of how much actual playing time at CB they will get - although of course, McKelvin will return a lot of kicks)
  12. I may get shot for suggesting this...but is anyone else interested in Pennington as our backup? I know that he has a noodle arm, but he has the smarts to play in an NFL offense, and it would be backup to Edwards. After this year, Losman is gone and we have no one. "If he comes cheap" (and he might, wanting to stay in the division and stick it to the Jets), he might be a good solution for the next couple of years.
  13. All congrats to DiGiorgia and everything, but you know what I notice about this article - the picture is in the throwback uniform. Not sure if I am dreaming, but it seems more often than not, on the Bills own website, when they choose a photo of a player for an article like that, they choose one in the throwback. Hey, if they like those throwbacks as much as we do - let's just change the uniforms already! Seems like we all agree...
  14. I've said it before - Tebow will be converted to another position if he wants to play in the NFL. He is not an NFL quarterback
  15. Colts have drafted two finesse centers now...a little odd?
  16. That's cool...throw out an insult. I will answer your question anyway. Because we critically need to succeed out of this draft at the WR position. And if the Bills are high on either of these players, then it might makes sense to hedge the high pick of the pick WR Hardy with another big WR that has fallen but is a good player. Yes, I watched both of these players quite a bit in college, particularly Hubbard as I see a lot of Wisconsin games and he is a very good WR. If you have another opinion, that's cool, but there's no need to ask me a stupid question about how much football I watch.
  17. Watching ESPN they are convertingme to Mike Hart...you could do a lot worse than using the next couple of picks on players like Mike Hart and Jamie Silva
  18. FWIW, my top three remaining players are: Doug Legursky, C Adarius Bowman, WR Paul Hubbard, WR
  19. Wow, Gruden really can't resist QBs, can he? (Josh Johnson) At least Marshawn's cousin got drafted - he should be happy for him.
  20. Just for grins...some good WRs that were mentioned on several threads on this board before the draft are still available. Now that we officially in the very late rounds (6 / 7) with our next picks, might we take two WRs to hedge the Hardy pick? Adarius Bowman Paul Hubbard
  21. Reggie Corner - NFLDraft Countdown Strengths: A ballhawk in the secondary...Great instincts and awareness...Nice hands and ball skills...More quick than fast but he has a burst to close....Very smooth and flips his hips well...Displays good footwork...Competitive...Confident...Excellent production. Weaknesses: Doesn't have the ideal size that you look for...Timed speed is merely average....Is not real strong or physical...Struggles to match up with big wideouts...Intelligence has been questioned....Level of competition is a concern...Upside might be limited. Notes: Was a four-year starter for the Zips....Earned first team All-MAC honors....Doesn't have everything that you look for from a size / speed perspective but manages to get the job done and is just a good football player..Probably won't profile as much more than a nickel type at the next level....Could be a poor-man's Nathan Vasher.
  22. I was ready to ask if Youboty should be worried after the McKelvin pick...now, I don't even need to ask
  23. Anthony Collins, E.J. Henderson, Owen Schmidt or Kellen Davis. That's my board for this next pick
