I disagree on Wells - this would be a good pickup, IMO. He strikes me as similar to Nick Goings on Carolina - keeps getting pushed down on the depth chart but when he gets in the game he fills in admirably or in some cases even outperforms the starter. I would be more comfortable with him as backup than some rookie drafted in rounds 5-7 or S. Williams, as long as he comes at the right price of course.

Well I am one of those people in my mock draft who suggests picking Huff, partially because he is "worth" the #8. I think if comes down to how much you value a guy like Huff (or V. Davis, or whomever) and still feel that it is a hole on our team. We all agree the lines are holes but I happen to think a difference-making safety is important too (ala Ed Reed in Balt. for example). As another example I don't particularly think TE is a huge hole because I believe Everett should be given a chance and Royal will be out there a lot for blocking as almost another tackle. So when others suggest that V. Davis should be taken, I tend to not agree. All that said, I believe in Marv's evaluation and if he picks Bunkley, Ngata or Justice, I will still be happy that we filled a hole I just will also be watching Huff's career because I think we will have missed out on something special.

I can appreciate that but my e v a l is from a value standpoint Huff is the one worth the #8. I would have no problem if we get to #8 and Cutler, Huff, Ngata, Bunkley and Justice are all there that we might trade down to someone who wants Cutler (Ravens?) and then still hope to get one of the above. If it were, say, the Browns, that would put us at #12 with another pick and it might go something like 8 Cutler Browns 9 Huff Lions 10 Ngata Cards 11 CB Rams 12 Then sitting here at 12 we still have a choice between say Justice and Bunkley This is guesswork of course but the point is that if all of those players are available at #8 then we could trade to somewhere between 11 and 14 and probably still get one. It's taking a chance but possibly worth the extra pick. If we stay at 8 I think it's Huff.

Just thinking out loud about how some of the QB movement around the league might affect the Bills bringing in someone to compete for the job...now that Frerotte has signed with the Rams, I wonder if they might someday cut loose Ryan Fitzpatrick (former Harvard QB). Given the connections to the Ivy league and Fairchild, I would think the Bills would scoop him up. I know odds are he will be the Rams' 3rd QB, behind Bulger and Frerotte, but it's worth some thought...in fact if we lose out on Wells, it might even be worth a late round pick in a trade if Fairchild believes in the kid and he fits the new offense well. The other place I was looking was the Lions. With the recent signing of McCown, they now have 5 QBs on the roster: McCown Kitna Shaun King Harrington Dan Orlovsky We know Harrington is gone, and we also know we don't want him, and think we know that Jauron doesn't want him either, given he generally played Garcia over him when he was there. But what aobut King and Orlovsky (particularly Orlovsky)? If the Lions keep 3 Qbs, one of them is going to get cut, and Jauron might find Orlovsky interesting. I thought he showed some flashes last year for a rookie. NOTE: I am a JP supporter; think he deserves another chance, but it never hurts to bring in some competition with upside. Thoughts?

I have thought this, as a Bills fan, for a long time. Face it, we are not one of the teams the NFL has on it's list of "make sure they get there if possible". I agree with an earlier post...the games are not "fixed" so much as "pushed" to an outcome if possible. Sometimes, the other team plays so well that this pushing by the refs does not help, but in a game like last night you see how apparent it is. What I always tell my buddies when I claim this theory is...think about the NFL...how everything is planned to the minutest detail and how well run the whole league is, how "managed" everthing is...then you realize it is actually LESS likely that the games would not be pushed in this way. It's all about the $$$ with the NFL, and pushing the games is a part of that too

Here's an interesting OT prospect that we might be able to nab in the 5th or 6th because of injury concerns. It's a gamble but I've seen him play and without the injury he should have gone already. Wesley Britt T, Alabama War Room analysis Strengths: Is a leader who loves the game and works hard on and off the field. Is one of the best run-blocking tackles in this class. Takes excellent angles, and shows explosive initial pop. Plays with a mean streak. Uses large wingspan well in pass protection. Weaknesses: Durability is a big concern because of a hairline leg fracture during Senior Bowl practice. It's the same leg into which doctors inserted a permanent rod and two screws into his tibia in October 2003. Must add bulk and lower-body strength. Lacks great technique in pass protection. Must learn to use hands more effectively and play with more consistent leverage. Must improve footwork when moving laterally. Lacks quickness. Bottom line: Britt has a chance to be a solid NFL lineman. He was downgraded for medical reasons but is an interesting prospect. Expect him to go in the early third round but it is possible he will rise into the late second round in the days leading up to the draft. Dan Pompei analysis Is a big left tackle pass-protecting prospect with long levers. Uses hands well. Shows good footwork and can slide. Is both smart and tough. Needs to get stronger and play with better leverage. Bends his waist a bit too much

Doesn't make sense to me. McCareins and Burress are the same WR. They already wasted money on McCareins last year, why spend more on the same position this year. To me this is good because their D is getting decimated and their WR corps isn't much better than it was last year, except maybe when they put three WR on the field. Maybe they are planning on doing that more this year.

I really think Edge is going to end up with the Dolphins. I have thought that all along. Don't think the Colts are going to be interested in Henry - I think if they lose Edge they will spend the money on D and see if Rhodes can carry it. Therefore I think the best bet of trading Henry is with the Cardinals. Now that it sounds like Emmitt is retiring, I think Dennis Green might step up efforts to deal with the Bills. Agree?

Good point. I see a signing on the OL this year as personally I think we will keep Williams but not Jennings. Jennings is a lot like Price was - in fact living down here in Atlanta I have heard him on local radio shows more than once sounding like he already plays for the Falcons because I think he wants to come back down here (he's from GA)

All, I have not posted in a while...I am a huge Bills fan living in Atlanta with a sister still in Buffalo. Long story short...her scumbag husband is cheating on her and I need to help her get everything she can in the divorce. Have you been through divorces? Anyone have a really good lawyer in the Buffalo area to recommend? Or even one to recommend staying away from? Any info is appreciated...she is heartbroken right now.
