  1. If they are available, Dan Connor or Reggie Smith, both of whom I believe the Bills would have considered in the 2nd if not for the WR need
  2. I would replace Jackson's name here with Jordy Nelson...and the answer is yes.
  3. Well, not what I expected, but in the end I like the pick. This has a lot to do with our expectations of what will be there in the 2nd for WR. Time to start hoping for runs on OL and CB and wait for the WRs to fall as much as possible!!
  4. The Chiefs want to jump ahead of Denver and choose the lineman of their choice, don't they? Please?
  5. Mayock asks, "Does he look like a Patriot so far!?!?" Well, Mike, given half the tackles you just showed would be horse collars in the NFL, yep, looks like a Patriot to me
  6. Bad news...these trade ups are not giving the value they should. Jags should have had to give next year's first to move up that far, but they only gave up two thirds and a fourth?? That's not good for the Bills if they are planning to trade down to late teens. I want a second, not a third
  7. If that's the case, the next 2 players on my board are McKelvin and Devin Thomas. Should probably trade back
  8. Kiper and McShay have been arguing about CB rankings for a week. Another example...Kiper loves Talib and McShay thinks he's terrible
  9. Only a third to the Patriots - that's good news; I was afraid the Saints would give up a 2nd because they were so desparate
  10. This is great if Harvey goes before our pick. We are going to have lots of options.
  11. Belicheats arrogance will lead him to think he can get the replacement later. Doubt he will draft a CB at #7, given his history
  12. Good news is that no one extraordinary fell to the Jets / Patriots. The potentially extraordinary players at the top of the draft were all just picked. Gholston might be good, but he has a lot of question marks. So does Ellis. Barring trades, these are probably the next two picks
  13. If Dorsey goes here, that could be good for us. Could cause KC to need to trade up from 17 to our pick to get the OL they want
  14. NFL Network: Was that the crypt keeper at the Raiders table?
  15. You almost made me switch over to ESPN...but nope, not going to do it. NFL Network's coverage is much better and I'm staying here
  16. I agree with most here that the price as described is too high. However, I find myself saying that I might do it if I had another deal in the works to recoup one of those picks. For example, if the trade between Philly and Tampa goes through and Tampa gives up their second (#52) for Lito Sheppard, then Philly could trade that second to us as part of a trade allowing us to move back from 11 to 19 in the first. The points work out (#11 is 1250) and #19 (875) + #52 (380) = 1255 This way in essense we would have moved back from 11 to 19, 41 to 52 and traded a 4th for Shockey. Not sure about the conditional pick but hopefully it's not too high next year so I am sort of ignoring ithe unknown. IMO, they can have a high pick (4th or higher) ONLY if the Bills make the playoffs AND Shockey goes to the Pro Bowl. Otherwise it should be a late pick with the bounty they are already getting. If we then pick a WR at 19 (Thomas, Sweed, Hardy), we have our new WR and TE going into the second round. Critical remaining needs are down to CB and C, with depth along both lines, LB depth and S depth left for late in the draft (day two).
  17. This is why I think it will be Carlson, Stevens or Cottam. All of them could play every down. Stevens would have to prove he can catch and get open consistently in the NFL, but if he can, he would be an absolute steal at where we would draft him (5th - 6th round?)
  18. How does inviting a suspended ciminal to stand on your sidelines (while collecting money from you, occupying a valuable roster spot and taking up valuable cap space) help to keep you from losing?
  19. No...didn't miss anything. But if the Bills ever sign a player like Pac-man then they might as well move to Toronto because that would be a complete embarassment to the team, organization and community. That we even have 1 fan that would think that would be a good idea absolutely stuns me.
  20. If you trade with Dallas, you will not get their 2 firsts for your first. You will have to give up another pick or at least swap spots in another round to get even trade value. They won't be THAT desperate.
  21. In that scenario, I would either trade down or take Devin Thomas. Not sold on Derrick Harvey at all.
  22. And if so, can Brad Butler play center? I know...we've already moved Butler once from tackle to guard, where he performed well. But I did not think Albert would make it to us because I thought the Chiefs would grab him at #5 to play tackle. Now that they have traded Allen and have the #17 pick from the Vikings, I see this scenario playing out more for the Chiefs: Take one of the DEs at #5 (most likely Chris Long) to replace Allen and use the #17 to take a tackle (Chris Williams from Vanderbilt?) rather than reach with the #5 This means Albert does not get picked at #5 and not in the first 10. He is the type of talent it would be hard to pass up at #11. This is right around where his value is. If the Bills take him, then we create a problem because what we really need is a center, not a guard. But if they think Butler can play center, then this seems like a logical pick, especially when you consider if a tackle gets injured, Albert may have the flexibility down the line to serve as a backup there as well. Fills several holes, IMO - new center, improved right guard (Albert is a monster), backup tackle in a pinch...
  23. Agreed. Ever since the Stroud situation where no one could even tell if he was in the darn building, I have had a high degree of confidence in this front office to mask their intentions and moves, which is exactly what you need to do in this league. For some other teams, "reporters" like Mort and Clayton know exactly what is going on five minutes after it happens because there are so many leaks. The Bills have done a good job of controlling the information that comes out in the way they want it to. There are no cab drivers.
