It won't be Washington either, he signed with the Titans today.

I agree...wanted Toomer all along. Toomer will more likely step aside if one of the young guys like Steve Johnson earns the job. Coles would have pitched a fit and would be locker room trouble if that were to happen. Also, Toomer is going to be much cheaper, as you say. A better fit for the Bills all around, IMO.

Why Do The Bills Like Backup Centers as Starters?
FightClub replied to _ROOKIE_'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, Fowler was a signing from the Vikings, not the Panthers. But, I do see your point a bit. At the time of his signing, Fowler had stepped in for Birk during a season when he was injured and "played well" so we signed him to be our starter. Now, Hangartner's situation is much the same - a backup who "played well" when he got in there the last couple of years, and we have signed him as our starter. I can only hope it works out better.... -
Florio said repeatedly in his postings over past days that he expected to go down several times. He said if this happens, to check his backup partnership with sportingnews.com at profootballtalk.sportingnews.com

Keiaho added to Brooks, June Very surprised at this move by the Colts, this guy looked like a good player to me the times I saw him play. Though Brooks is unlikely, Keiaho and June seem like real possibilities to send Ellison to the bench to me.

Amani Toomer is high on my list as a veteran who will either do the job of step aside willingly if a guy like S. Johnson develops. The rest of the guys - not so much. If we can't get a Toomer then might as well go with who we have

I'd like to see Chase Daniel picked up in the late rounds. And before you tell me he's too small, Drew Brees is the same height.
-
Exactly. Those trying to blame the staff for this are crazy. Trent stinks right now. Stinks. We can only hope it's not permanent, but I'm not so sure. And don't give me the "young quarterback" argument. What this guy had going for him is the mental aspect of the game, and he doesn't have that anymore. He never really had overwhelming physical tools, and without the mental aspect, he doesn't even belong out there.

The "Official" Bills MNF gameday thread
FightClub replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Face it, fans. This team sucks. Bottom 5 in the NFL right now. And so we start over yet again... -

4 interceptions and he must be benched. So he has one more. -

Will Trent stand up like Big Ben couple weeks ago and finally admin "I" lost this game? That would be four in a row, by the way, Trent, with no admission after any of the previous three. Be a man. -

This stretch could also scar him for the rest of his career, though -

But.... "After the next three easy games, the Bills will be 8-4!!" Just sayin' -
I agree totally. I resisted myself throwing out a post like Marc's. Partly because I knew I would get the "don't let the door hit you on the way out" posts but also because I guess I talked myself out of venting out loud like that. But the truth is, this weekend, sitting here in Atlanta like I have every Sunday for years with my Sunday ticket watching what have always been my beloved Bills...I just...didn't....care. I was sitting here sort of like the Bills were playing - lifeless, resigned to my fate that my team simply isn't good and isn't going to be good for yet another year. I don't know what it really means, other than this team has reached a new low for me. Yes, I admit I'll be back in front of the TV next Monday, but I now question how much more of this I can take.

We could just as easily win 3 & go from worst to 1st......
FightClub replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you watched the Bills game and then watched the entire KC / SD game today as I did there is no way to conclude that KC is not better than the Bills right now. Records don't matter....watch the teams play. The Bills were better than Cleveland before they switched to Quinn. Now the Browns are probably the better team. SF I have not watched at all this year so I can't comment. -
I'd now like to welcome the Bills to the AFC Cellar....
FightClub replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've seen this type of comment posted a few times now by different people, and honestly, I don't understand it. The Bills are not better right now than KC, Cleveland or SF. Maybe even with them, but not better. And - those teams are getting better week to week (except maybe SF) while the Bills are getting worse and worse. I expect the team that I've seen on the field the last three weeks to go 1-2 in the next three. I don't know - maybe they'll surprise me. -
This is not me calling for his head or anything, but what Trent played was overconfident today. Holding onto the ball like that in the end zone particularly makes it look like he thinks he is invincible, or maybe he thinks his line is invincible. Either way, he has to find a way to blend that ability to hang in there to the last minute and completing throws with his tendency to hang in there past the last minute, when bad things happen (like fumbles in the end zone, or interceptions after his arm is hit).
-
OK, here we go...this is the turnover from Warner that we are looking for. He will be pressing in this two minute situation and is vulnerable to one his interceptions. If we can turn it around quick we might get another quick FG before half.

I would think in a three WR set, either Evans or Reed would come out of the slot and Hardy would be out wide.

**Bills vs. Raiders OFFICIAL Game Thread**
FightClub replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan 2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It looked like Javon Walker was telling Kiffin he is open....assuming he's not....I smell interception next drive. That's the trouble with players like that, they talk too much - it looked like Kiffin was listening too (young coach) -
From Clark Judge's article on CBS Sportsline this morning: Five things I like 1. The Bills Backers in Albany, N.Y., who mounted a write-in campaign to get the local CBS affiliate to change the Indianapolis-Minnesota game to Buffalo-Jacksonville. They won. Link I confess I did not pay much attention to the thread calling for the change originally, because I'm down here in Atlanta with Sunday Ticket...but in light of several other posts about how great this Bills community is, then seeing national recognition like this for the fans, I commit to helping out next time, even if it doesn't affect me. This is going to be a great season.

4 DEs? We rushed 4 DEs against Seattle
FightClub replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I saw a lot of interesting stunts and personnel combinations. The only one that I didn't like is there was one version of the creep where they had Stroud drop back off the line into pass covereage and he looked.....completely....lost. I might stay away from that one and let him do what he does best, but the creativity I saw on both sides of the ball is much appreciated. Looks like DJ is letting both coordinators open things up a bit this year. -
I know this might sound crazy, But
FightClub replied to canbuffan34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is crazy...but, when my wife came home and asked how the Bills did and I told her the score, she immediately said "Must be Russert", so you're not alone in your thinking... -
JAX down 3 offensive linemen today?
FightClub replied to Charlie68's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Stroud will be a man possesed in this revenge game and the Bills may not even have to blitz much to get in the backfield with him pushing the pocket again.
