  1. Not sure, but I think I've seen fines announced on Fridays past weeks, so may still be coming. (sorry, not time to check into it now...)
  2. from Chris Brown press release:
  3. Here we go again The new most-important game This time the Giants
  4. That piece on Sunday Night Football did not show Rogers or Brady or any of them throwing the ball .27 or .3 seconds after the snap! The measurement was from the start of the throwing motion to the release of the ball.
  5. Paul Hubbard? Felton Huggins? Justing Jenkins? Josh Reed? LOL @ EZC saying Drew Haddad. I assume the real answer is Aiken... Kamar that is, not Sam. Though I don't think he's really quite ready, but am eager to see what he can become. Too bad no Marcus Easley this year. (Any info on that heart ailment at all? That might be better next year somehow...?)
  6. If I could choose, I'd prefer to sweep the AFC East....
  7. I was just thinking the same thing. Do you think Keith Ellison would look out of place on this year's defense? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_Buffalo_Bills_season#Final_roster Look at our end-of-yeear LBs 2 years ago! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_Buffalo_Bills_season#Final_roster
  8. Win when you're the underdog (vs Chiefs) ...check! Come back after being significantly down against a similar team ...check! Win a game against the evil empire, a game you're a significant underdog (...and add in a comeback to boot!)...check! Win against a team where you are favored ...fail (barely)! Bounce back from a loss ...TBD The most important game is always the game you're playing this week.
  9. I am believing that Shawn Merriman for a breakout game too. But who knows on the sacks. Vick is the type of QB that may give us some sacks by running out of bounds, though I don't see our coverage holding for long against the Phili receivers.
  10. I lost my longer response by clicking into the reply box and hitting the backspace (which activates the browser back button)... I think this is a dumb argument. The top 5 defenses based on scoring this year are a combined 16-4, and none are in the top 5 for offense. This is not much different than the 17-3 that was cited as evidence for scoring being key. Looking at last year to get more data, Atlanta was both 5th in scoring and preventing scores so I’ll toss them out an just look at top 4: Top Offenses: NE, SD, Phili, Indi. Combined record = 43-21 Top Defenses: Pitt, GB, Baltimore, Chicago. Combined record = 45-19 So, really, scoring more is the surest path to victory? I’d agree scoring more than your opponent is. I don’t see any substance to this argument.
  11. I have little problem with the pink. I think it's a great campaign and is helping raise awareness, and looks like it will also directly raise significant money. Pertaning to earlier comments: Pink is not just a 'girl' color. Men and boys can and do wear pink as well, and that's just fine. Aren't there more important things than getting worked up over clothing color choice? Try not to be so small-minded. A boy "looking like a girl" is also not something that should be seen as an insult. Is there something wrong with being a girl? That is patently chauvinistic. I understand there is a cultural stereotype about pink. I just don't agree with it. On another front, confronting people and making them feel bad about themselves (for clothing choice or whatever) is reprehensible, and can be very damaging to children. If you act this way, you ought to really feel bad about yourself. I agree this is part of the NFL marketing to attract and broaden the female audience. The complaints that the pink made it harder to see the ball and might have effected the call on the Johnson reception are legitimate, and I agree with them. I think in that regard the pink is distracting and should be farther from the ball. Can anyone confirm that the pink will be this prevalent for the whole month? Didn't they do this last year (awareness month) but were only this saturated the first week, and more subtle after that?
  12. I'm glad to see he caught on somewhere. This will keep him in shape in case we need to call him up! http://www.giantsfootballblog.com/2011/09/29/qb-perrilloux-released-from-ps-lb-coleman-signed/
  13. I agree we eased up on KC (except for the bomb thrown to Parrish by Brad Smith). My point is "so what?". Do you want to adjust your personal forecast from the Bills being a 14 point favorite (or whatever you thought) to a 15 point advantage because the stats you value are skewed, or to 13 because they ease up when the game is in hand? Or do you think they now have a 68% chance of winning instead of 66%? So let's say the Bills advanced another 15 yard in the KC game and were the 2nd best offenses based on yards per game. How does that change your prediction? I understand fine, but really, so what? Sorry, I probably should have just read (or not) and not responded....
  14. You're trying way too hard, Scrappy. KD is right. How the Bills and Bengals play Sunday will determine whether they win, not what happened in the past. If you pretend that all we had to go by were the stats, so it's really important to see the accurate numbers to know just how likely it is the Bills will win (or lose ) this Sunday.... Be sure to analyze all of the Bengals games as well to see if there's some reason that they could have looked better too. And, look at all the lucky plays the Bills have had and see what the stats look like if Fitz was intercepted or the long PI penalty hadn't been called etc.. S Does all this leave you somewhere different than you started?
  15. These last weeks have been great, but definitely not as good as the comeback game for me. But, then and now I was sure the Bills ("we" if you prefer) would rally back and take a real shot at the game. In both games I counted how many scores we were down and looked forward with some certainty: "okay, we score a touchdown here, then we'll only be down by two scores and that's only one play away from tying it up (i.e. pick-6)." It was only because we'd rallied back previously that I had that feeling in the Oilers game. This game is laying the psychological foundation for this team to achieve great things. I will say though that this is as enjoyable a three-game span as I can remember.
  16. It's called "basking in reflected glory". It is natural and psychologically healthy for people to associate themselves with others who are more successful, saying "we" and "us" etc. even when they didn't contribute to the success. Studies have shown that this is done less after a team's loss. "We won!" and "they lost!" is completely normal. What is abnormal is all of the fans who say "we" and "us" after the team loses, or loses for a long time....
  17. You mean Lawyer Milloy?
  18. As I remember it, Pat wanted to stay in Buffalo, but the Bills didn't end up offering him a contract at all.
  19. The best of the worst of the worst. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The Chiefs message board is unbearable and is over-run with immature posters. That said, the Chiefs fans in the parking lot and in my section were great. They were nice, polite, generous and knowledgeable (at least about their Chiefs). We had 3rd row seats in the upper deck at the 40 yard line, which was a fantastic view of the full field. When we first got there, the next car over pulled us into their tailgate, feeding us taco salad and giving us ice cold Bud Light. The son of one woman was dressed in his firefighter uniform and helped hold the flag on the field before the game in the 9/11 recognition / national anthem. It was the best away game NFL crowd experience I've had by far.
  20. I think Smith has accuracy problems with his throws down field. I think they want teams to see that he might throw instead of just run each time he touches the ball. That play was just way out of whack with the other plays that proceeded it to think they cared much if it was complete. They were very vanilla with White for a full series leading up to that play. Who knows, maybe it was an FU, or maybe it was about Parrish, getting him some yards, or something else.... I thought the most encouraging thing about the win was the coaching and front office. Sure, the players stepped up and looked much better, I think both because of what players were on the field and how they were coached: everyone seemed prepared; and the parade of poor challenges, time outs, penalties etc. were absent. As mentioned by someone else, I really liked that they sat Dareus after that 4th and 4 offsides. (Jauron would have clapped his hands, shaken his head, looked down, and shuffled his feet.)
  21. I just don't agree with this at all. I thought this pass was called to get it on film for future opponents, not to humiliate the Chiefs. IMO, Brad Smith's biggest value is in short yardage plays. That play helps back off the safties a bit when he takes the snap in future games. They have to respect his arm after that 50 yard bomb. The Bills were already up 41-7 and had just run J. White up the middle five times in a row when Smith made that pass. The Chiefs fans were saying they thought the runs were a classy move by the Bills. I was thrilled to see the Bills win overwhelmingly without ever being jerks.
  22. Wow, so sorry to hear of your loss. (You too, Frostbelt.) I'll think of you and your family when we win, I'm sure. With it being 9/11 I think there will be a lot of reminders today of what is really important. Being able to be safe with family, and relax and watch a Bills game is a luxury. We should all enjoy it if we can, and be very grateful to all the people and forces that have come together to allow that to happen.
  23. And i thank you for that!
  24. Well, some existing franchises.
