  1. I don't really fear that. Without Clay's contract, the people who would say that would find something else to complain about.
  2. Safer in Tallahassee where the cops have got your back.
  3. If Clay is the versatile piece they want for the offense, I think the money is justified. It's a bit steep, but justified. Now, here is one issue. They really, really need to draft and possibly sign a depth TE who is in Clay's mould, even if he's not as good. Injuries are too frequent in the NFL and the team needs to be prepared for that scenario. On the plus side, I do like what I've seen of Gray thus far -- I think he could be an underrated pickup -- and maybe they think he and Gragg can cut it.
  4. He is truly carrying on in the tradition of James Walker.
  5. Excellent move. Yeah, pre-Doug Marrone. Just a coincidence, of course.
  6. Really. Not many jobs pay people for talking about a game, either. Dude needs to get over himself. Meanwhile, the money Borland "robbed" the team of was basically vet minimum for one season, the cost of a replacement-level player, when the guy was at least a "B" prospect in the NFL. A bit of me thinks that those rushing to disparage the guy are a bit scared of what this augurs for the NFL. If NFL popularity wanes, fewer guys like Schefter will have jobs.
  7. Smart move for him. Rivers is gonna love him. I will root for him out here.
  8. Man, the Niners are having a dumpster fire of an offseason. On another note, the poster who pointed out the low rookie wage scale has a great point. I hadn't thought about that. There is definitely less incentive than there used to be to take the risk.
  9. what does Connecticut have to do with us?
  10. Prop Joe could dew that OG sh-- no problem. RIP.
  11. It's a great low risk move. I do like that we're not BSing around given the limitations. Still like Moore as an option, but at least we go into camp with two guys with 10+ starts, one with some reasonable success on multiple teams, and a bit of an athletic wild card guy. An improvement on prior years where we were touting the merits of Mr. Glass, waiting for Ort-man, praying for Craig Nall, or inflating Brohm.
  12. hey why not, as long as we're entertaining the idea of playing guys out of position.
  13. i feel you. Once we get Barksdale in control of the towers, this sh-- is over.
  14. Maybe Percy Harvin can fight him.
  15. Does he swear on his non-existent daughter's life?
  16. They can't sign him. They have to offer the best trade.
  17. Hey man, if we did that Mario-for-Skelton trade we'd have TONS of cap room right now, and we could probably trade that Gregg Jeffries Donruss rookie card for Peyton. Idea sounds pretty smart now, huh?
  18. If Locker played his money right, this could be the smartest move he'll ever make for his health and well-being. If he doesn't want to be there, why should he have to be? NFL football is not all there is in life. Let me put it this way -- I have more respect for this decision than playing the game and sliding short of a game-changing gain to avoid getting hurt.
