  1. Ronnie Harmon definitely killed the dream. I'll go with Greg Jerman, though, because you can never trust ze Jermans.
  2. He left us. He can eat a bowl of you know whats. In response to the original question, there's no coach out there right now that I'm wishing we'd held on to. It seems like Chuck Knox's tenure is one that shouldn't have ended the way it did. Wade Phillips is probably the obvious answer, even though I agreed with the decision to fire Ronnie Jones. That said, Butler screwed up the cap so badly it's hard to see how Wade would have lasted much longer.
  3. Actually, the argument was just to act like a human f---ing being rather than some internet tough / wise guy. I think usually it takes some kind of personal involvement for a jerk to realize he's being a jerk.
  4. If you have daughters, I want you to think about what kinds of idiots are out there in the world to protect them from. This includes people who rush to give the benefit of the doubt to somebody with mounting evidence against them, and people who want to slander anyone who claims to be a victim of someone in a powerful position. But given your uncanny ability to read between the lines and find something that isn't there, I am not surprised that this went over your head. The troll stuff is rich, though. A-plus. It wasn't an argument, it was a statement to consider for someone who is making a lot of baseless claims about the accuser. WEO laid out the real argument, which I haven't seen you refute with any authority.
  5. Thirded. Stay classy, and may you be granted a few daughters to take care of in this world so you can wise up.
  6. who is anyone to decide where the line lies between drunk-but-coherent, and drunk-and-compromised? If she at any point said "no," it's rape.
  7. What would the market possibly be if he doesn't perform well? EJ should at least have a floor of NFL backup for his career, so it would be foolish to trade him when he is more valuable to the Bills than to anyone else. It is not like Matt Cassel has been the picture of health to begin with. The article is dumb because it makes the strange comparison to Tebow, because Rodak wants all the clicks. It's also dumb because trades require willing partners, and the Bills would be dumping an asset for nothing. I know it's hard to believe but even as a backup EJ is an asset. He has been no great shakes, but people who believe that he isn't at least a top 50 QB in this league haven't watched a lot of football.
  8. Ditka gave that up for a running back, not for the most highly-touted QB to enter the league since Manning.
  9. I'm throwing down a fiver right here, right now.
  10. I would say that Rodak is second-rate as a sh!#-stirrer but here we are with another thread regarding his foolishness. That said, I might click on a Jerry Sullivan article, where here is the only place I ever hear about Rodak's "work."
  11. I'd take Rivers as my QB. He's probably got 4-5 good years in him. I would hope he wouldn't talk much about anything besides football, though.
  12. I don't know why anyone would be judging DeBerg's value as a tutor solely based on his NFL success (or lack thereof) on the field. Most of the best coaches never even played NFL ball. He's probably a top-100 or top-150 QB in NFL history, regardless. Now, the fact that he comes across as shell-shocked in interviews might be a bit more concerning, but even, there are people who are built for being in the public eye, and there are great one-on-one teachers.
  13. I thought you won "Bo Levi Mitchell" under a Mountain Dew cap name generator.
  14. kind of depends on whether he shows growth, stays healthy, and more than anything whether the team is winning or not. If he has more games like the Houston one, I don't expect he'll find a ton of defenders here. If Rex and co actually start him and then yank him at the first sign of adversity, then he's done here whether he deserves to be or not. I think this is unlikely to be the case for a host of reasons. I think the likely scenarios are: 1) Cassel wins the job outright, keeps it. 2) Cassel wins it, struggles, is benched for Manuel 3) Manuel plays good enough but not great, keeps job, possible playoffs. 4) Somebody gets injured. Hate to say it but you have to count it as one of the likely scenarios in the NFL and both Manuel and Cassel have had a few.
  15. what about Bulger? He wasn't great but he was serviceable. that actually is good news.
  16. there are a lot of budding NFL films analysts here.
  17. I think that you distinguish yourself from some others in your feelings about EJ. Others feel the need to cut the guy down at every turn.
