  1. Not saying he's a great qb by any means (he's better than a bunch of the scrubs populating NFL rosters), but you're an idiot ( )for invoking QB records. It's the ultimate team game. The team with him at QB went 1-10 (or whatever it was). QB records are a more worthless stat than MLB won-loss records for pitchers, which have their own set of problems.
  2. LOL! That was TO, if I recall correctly.
  3. Scouting report from NFL.com - http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/profiles/kelvin-benjamin?id=2543471 ANALYSIS STRENGTHS Possesses rare size with an 83-inch wingspan. Is a physical mismatch vs. defensive backs and linebackers. Eats cushion and separates with long strides. Strong approach to the ball -- is not easily knocked off course and will enter the middle on crossers. Outstanding jumpball catcher -- climbs the ladder, plucks the ball at its highest point and regularly snatches it out of the air with superb body control and the grace of a ballerina. Creates separation with his body. Adjusts surprisingly well for the low ball and tracks it well over his shoulder. Energetic football demeanor. Confident and competitive. Strong-handed. Uses his body well to shield the defender from the ball and can beat double coverage. Good run strength after the catch (see three tackles broken on TD run vs. Florida) and does not go down easy. Strong enough to handle defensive ends when motioned inside to chip and delivered some head-snapping, crackback blocks (see N.C. State). Emerged as a clutch, go-to, big-play receiver -- caught the game-winning TD in the national championship game vs. Auburn and consistently was targeted in critical situations and in the red zone. Scorched Florida CB Loucheiz Purifoy and created mismatch problems from the slot. WEAKNESSES Lacks elite, top-end speed and many catches are contested. Hand use could improve releasing vs. tight, press coverage. Overly grabby. Is not yet a nuanced route runner and does not sink his hips and pop in and out of his breaks. Does not shake many defenders after the catch. Will make the easy concentration drop and focus could stand to improve at the break point (three drops vs. Florida). Seeks to run before securing the ball and double-catches more than he should. Blocking effort/sustainability has room to improve on the move. Has a 32 1/2-inch vertical jump and recorded the slowest 60-yard shuttle time (12.10 seconds) of any receiver at the combine. DRAFT PROJECTION Round 1 BOTTOM LINE A tight end-sized, intimidating, big-play receiver with a rare wingspan, Benjamin has the overall strength, length and wide catching radius that will demand extra coverage be rolled his way. Showed continual improvement, is still growing into the position, and possesses the traits to become a legitimate No. 1 receiver. A very intriguing mismatch weapon with ascending talent.
  4. 1.7 percent drop rate last year - 2 drops on 63 targets. That's better than average.
  5. I almost added "(no pun intended)"!
  6. He's not a blemish-free player - there is a reason he was traded. But he has upside and he's definitely an upgrade. The Bills have so many picks next year that coughing up a 3 seems like a small price. It is possible to have too many picks if a team roster is solid - at some point, diminishing returns kick in.
  7. 1.7 percent drop rate in 2016, which is very good: https://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/drops/2016/
  8. yup. there is a downside, but an upside too.
  9. Weight issues and lack of speed, but productive nonetheless. He's not a great player, but the positives outweigh the negatives and I think it's a good trade overall.

  12. Do folks think that the Bills will be willing to part with a 4th rounder for Sammy Watkins (LA)?
  13. Am I crazy to think that the Bills' o-line is ten times better with Glenn in there?? Stop the madness with these stupid trade scenarios!
  14. It's gotten to the point that on every jailbreak-ish play, i assume he'll avoid the sack (it was the opposite with Orton). Of course, he still gets sacked, but he avoids so, so many that initially look like sure sacks.
  15. I went to bed when it was 4-0 Dodgers and Kershaw looking lights out. What the hell happened??

  17. Jax's cap number for Dareus going forward isn't that problematic despite the gaudy-looking numbers - https://www.bigcatcountry.com/2017/10/30/16569484/marcell-dareus-trade-2018-nfl-salary-cap-jaguars. Bear in mind that if they want to keep him, they can convert some of the future salary into a bonus that can be prorated. Anyway, the problem he presents is as follows: other teams want the elite talent that he can be, but they're cautious not so much because of the money, but because that elite talent is one toke away from a full-season suspension. People need to bear in mind that Jacksonville acquired him because they want to win this year and think they can, and not because they're trying to perfect their salary cap situation. If you think a player represents an elite talent who can be a difference maker, then you pay the going price and don't look back. I'm not saying he's going to pan out, but in the two seasons he played for Marrone, he was dominating. Anyway, the cap issue likely wasn't a huge problem for them (they were $33 million under the cap anyway).
  18. Disagree - I think the reason his value is discounted so much is his one-strike-away-from-a-full-season-suspension status. His contract status isn't that bad for another team because they aren't on the hook for the pro-rated signing bonus stuff. Minus the suspension possibility, my guess is that the Bills get a 4th that might turn into a 3rd. The Ravens got a 4th and 5th for Ngata, who was a lesser player than Dareus is now by the time he was traded (he had worn down a lot by that point but was still serviceable).
  19. Just spoke with a friend and colleague who is a massive Pats fan. He said that scratches (which is what Gilmore was) do not travel with the team. He wasn't sure about home games, but it stands to reason that the Patriots don't shift policies simply because it's a home game and want instead to remain consistent in their policy.
  20. Lol. He's such a great player.
  21. The Bills' pass rush is terrible. They've had one good game, and it skews their otherwise awful numbers. Lawson is clearly not a quick twitch player. He just leans in and pushes.
  22. My god, Dean: the most important skill of a head coach is identifying and hiring the right staff. Parcells hired and promoted Belichick and Coughlin. Case closed. As Ive said countless times, Parcells is Morgoth and Belichick is Sauron. Coughlin is either Gothmog or Lord of the Nazgul; take your pick. But Morgoth rules them all at the end of the day.
