  1. I can also add my $.02. I also never crash. (Ever.) But I did get a "failing hard drive warming" on my iMac this year. Now I have an external HD and run Time Machine (the built-in Mac backup program) so I was confident all my stuff was safe. I got a new HD for the iMac and removed the old one. I plugged in my external HD to the computer...answered a question about wanting to restore from the HD. About 4 hours later, not only was all my data there, but every application was back on my computer, including every single setting and favorite. Everything. My desktop background didn't even need to be reset. I knew my data was safe but I fully expected to have to reset up browsers, install applications, etc. Nothing. It was as if all I did was add a bigger (and not failing) hard drive. Oh, and I really appreciated my Mac warning me that the HD was failing without actually failing. Like others, I use a PC at work. I don't hate it but I definitely prefer Mac.
  2. I had parallels after I bought my first Mac 5 years ago. On my second Mac, I didn't even bother installing it. Just don't need it--but it was good for a few months until I found I really didn't need the PC stuff anymore.
  3. Chuck Norris is the reason why Waldo is hiding.
  4. Turns out your homophobia has you hating one of your own ilk. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142405...IDDLETopStories
  5. I'm all for being a good sport and not running up the score but forcing a loss on a team that does is dumb.
  6. No, you mentioning your schooling, if anything, made the point you're NOT trying to make. Namely, that hard work can get you into a college with a good reputation. The "ad nauseum" started when the group with the pitchforks couldn't justify why they want to burn the rich except for the reason that they are rich.
  7. Here's betting he uses the red size 18 font.
  8. And that one of them decided to regale us with where he and his wife went to college and grad school...an odd note that didn't have anything to do with the subject at hand.
  9. Here's betting that he posts something agreeing with you and not realizing he's also agreeing with me.
  10. You're right. I have no idea or care about your wealth or lack thereof. Doesn't make a lick of difference to me. What I can see though, is that you've got an unhealthy obsession with how wealthy people choose to spend their money. And you are bent on taking it from them.
  11. It's "coarse" but whatever. You said The ONLY way to translate that is that you want to reduce the numbers of wealthy people by taking away their wealth. And the reason you want to do that is because they are some sort of evil. No other way to read that hoss. And that is your only justification for the 55% death tax.
  12. Jesus, you're a character straight out of Atlas Shugged. So your moral justification for taking money from the wealthy--money the government already swiped at 50% in taxes--is that you want fewer rich people because rich people are de facto a societal evil? Holy ****. You're a dark, dark person.
  13. I have no idea what car Bill Gates drives or how many houses he has. And I don't know where Warren Buffett ate last night. And I don't know how many planes or boats Paul Allen owns. And I don't care because unlike you, I'm not jealous and obsessed with other people's money. It's theirs and they can do what they want iwth it--charitable frivolous or miserly. It's none of my business unless it's criminal. One of these days, you'll provide your moral justification for taking people's money at gunpoint. Or not.
  14. Once she's on the rescue boat, let's have the parent discussion no?
  15. I was getting ahead of myself...that one's our next dumb war.
  16. My corrupted morality that says you have no right to steal from me at gunpoint? That I have the right to share my money with who I choose, in particular the people I love most, at my death. As usual Eric, you're in the flat out wrong on this.
  17. And again the only moral rationale you or birdog argue is that you want the money because there's lots of it. Not much above 3rd grade morality there.
  18. And the two before that.
  19. The government does few things right and this is no different.
  20. I love how a complete unknown with almost no commercials or any political organization knocks off the party choice and "the system is broken." BTW, it does sound like something fishy happened here...but what's great is that in the end, the voters are the ones who chose this dolt despite the fact that no one knows who he is. I hope this happens in November too. !@#$ the "name" guys.
  21. I love how threads like these get started and are hot when the market is down and silent as it goes up. Of course, that's why doom and gloom Dwight Drane was here during the fall and AWOL during the recovery.
  22. I hope he wins. He'll be only slightly less-informed than most of them. And his sexual misconduct will barely raise an eyebrow in DC.
  23. Gotta like his moxy. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/06/09...ses-step-aside/
  24. Actually no, I don't give that permission any more than I give permission for the US government to wage dumb wars in Iran and Afghanistan. And whether the Constitution gives the right to tax is certainly debateable. Before the 16th Amendment's enactment, the income tax was found unconstitutional more than once and even since its enactment, the Supreme Court has not always been united in its Constitutionality. By living in the USA, I chose to live in the USA. That does not mean I permit the government to do whatever it wants. The morality of laws is certainly relevant to any discussion of laws. If your only justification is "I want your money because you've got lots of it" than you're no better than a 4th grade bully in your moral stance. Sorry but to me, it matters that our laws register on the good/evil scale. "I want what you have BECAUSE YOU HAVE MORE OF IT" is not a moral argument. I earned my money. What gives you the right to take it from me by force?
  25. Trade him for something and move on. Wonder what the Bills could get. A 5th? Probably not but I can hope.
