Good detail to note. As I said before, a guy as politically shrewd as McChrystal should know better...or knew exactly what he was doing. Either way, fire him. And get out of Afghanistan and Iraq ASAP. How's the troop drawdown going?

Yeah. Something was amiss. Either that writer went off the unwritten rules or McChrystal didn't give a ****. Sounds like the former. If true, I feel sorry for him that he got caught up in it but the result (relieved of duty) is 100% right. We're all human: We know people question and bash their bosses all the time. But the general in charge of Afghanistan needs to be a lot smarter than that...and also shouldn't create an atmosphere that encourages it. It's one thing to complain about lack of support. It's one thing to B word with your fellow generals over some beers. It's another to insult the president in front of your subordinates and a reporter.

Adios McChrystal. Petraeus will replace him. Part of me thinks this is a bad result but if the guy was willing to say what he said and promote an atmosphere where insulting the president was tolerated, he should not be in charge. Not clear what, if anything, McChrystal's next assignment will be. Future talking head on FOX for sure.

Anyone who says "I WILL be right with my economic predictions as I usually am" and claims to be a money manager...but still posts on Bills PPP websites has got delusions of grandeur. And I really mean delusions. Basically, reality may not set in for you ever. Or maybe you're Warren Buffet. Different is step one. With 95% plus incumbent reelection rates, look to yourself to blame for what's going on. At least new blood would prove we're not zombie voters. And if the new guys suck, vote them out too.

It is nothing until the press gets hold of it and it becomes a story. Then it's something. If one of my employees told one of my partners to "bite me" or said to a co-worker that "Jay can bite me," they would lose their job in most circumstances. For the leader of a major military mission to say that about the VP is way beyond water-cooler gossip and shows a massive failure in judgment. HE WAS TALKING TO A REPORTER!

Me too, even though I know no tax is temporary. Reducing deficit is about the only thing I'm OK with paying more taxes for but it had better come dollar for dollar (or more) with equivalent cuts. Tax a trillion--cut a trillion.
