  1. You are of course free to say what you want but you might consider having the decency to quench your negative views on the day he died. And wishing that he goes to hell? Immature even by the low standard you set for yourself.
  2. The USA needs strikers. Defense will be OK--just had injury pileup heading into the WC.
  3. The Dutch player was getting his deserved second yellow, which is why he got ejected. It was the right call. On the Robben run, it should have been called but the ref let Robben get away with a massive hand push-off on the same play. If Robben goes down, the ref probably blows the whistle. If not, he doesn't. Robben fought through it and didn't make the play. TS. The early play where the Dutch player Kung-Fued the Spanish player (Villa?) in the chest with the bottom of the cleat was the worst foul of the match. Ref didn't red card on that because it was so early but it would have been the right call. In all, the Dutch were clawing and pulling all game long and Spain had them on the ropes for almost the whole game. The right team won even though I was hoping for a Holland miracle.
  4. Apple makes a single phone (imagine if they made multiple types like their competitors!). That was the quarter before everyone knew the new iPhone was coming out. Do you think that had something to do with slow growth for a single quarter? Care to guess what happened in June/July?
  5. So you're the guy who bought a Zune? I have an XBox. Live does nothing for me because I don't feel like playing video games with strangers. Obviously it's been successful. So yes, it's working out. Ask Sony or Nintendo (or Sega or Atari or Coleco) how the wind blows in gaming though. Being #1 is fleeting in the console market.
  6. I think you're making my case, not yours. In Q1, RIM sold 10M units or so. Apple sold about 9M units in a quarter where smarter consumers were holding out for the iPhone4 that was coming soon. Worldwide. Sure, 1M unit difference. But RIM has a huge huge lead in this market--a market Apple hasn't been selling internationally in for all that long--and Apple is poised to pass them in a year or 2. To the guy defending Microsoft, you're making my point too. Windows 7 is a good OS. But it took several iterations of lousy ones t oget there. The Zune is a bust. Windows Mobile is too. Their phone ventures are going nowhere. Bing might work but it has a tough game of catch up to Google. XBox is working out. I am not rooting against MS. I root for it--but a culture of complacency and lack of valuable (happy now?) innovation set in at MS and they have to seek to overcome that. Maybe they are doing that. I hope so. It would be sad to see an industry leader like them crumble.
  7. I left Verizon FOR AT&T about 6 years ago because of the crappy reception and calls cutting out. Granted, maybe Verizon is better now but I can tell you that at the time of the switch, I was thrilled with the change.
  8. The "It's cool to hate Microsoft" thing is something I recently said is making me root for them. But you can't deny that they are a model for a complacent company over the last decade.
  9. Are you really saying that their crappy handset is what makes them attractive to corporate users? BB is trying, trust me, to make a handset that compete with the consumer monsters. For whatever reason, they can't. I see RIM as Microsoft-ey. They are complacent with their lead because so many companies are married to them but it can't last if they don't start making better products. I have a few friends who are forced to have blackberries but also own Incredibles or iPhones because they hate their Blackberries(Eventually, one convinced his corporate IT department to let him test run the iPhone using Exchange...it was so successful that they now allow emplyees to choose the Blackberry or iPhone. Probably happening in many workplaces. Ours bypassed Blackberries completely, and corporate security is VIP here.
  10. Another guy longing for a Hossage hoofjob?
  11. The no-responsibilities Baby Boomers and now old, and still living life without consequences...carnage in their wake.
  12. RIM is sticking around because of momentum and established infrastructure. Nothing more at this point. People are abandoning it whenever they get a chance.
  13. Half the page is ads. The other half are people's graphical sigs. Looks less mature. Stop staring at his horn you perv.
  14. You're just upset because his avatar makes you question your sexuality.
  15. At least half my office uses iPhones with Exchange integration. Zero complaints. The people who opted for the Blackberries hate them. I suspect RIM won't be around much longer if they don't start getting real hardware. HTC and Apple are eating their lunch. Only momentum is sustaining Blackberries at this point.
  16. I know at least 50 people with iPhones and it's their only phone. Most have no landline.
  17. 5 games it was not true in. Considering they won 6, it means they blew 5 4th quarter tied or ahead moments. Not impressive but not the stupidity of the claim.
  18. FAIL. Besides the fact that you're 100% WRONG on your stat (The real number is something like 10-12 out of 16...I got bored looking at boxscores after I found 4)... the Bills did have a few epic meltdowns last year. That speaks more to me about poor leadership and lack of toughness than anything else. Good teams don't quit like that. And neither do tough ones.
  19. What do you mean persistence? And I'm not an atheist.
  20. Pretty sure we could put it to a vote and you'd lose: Many to 3.
  21. He's the Hatfield to your and Conner's McCoys.
  22. I assumed you closed it. Doesn't seem like much was going on in there unless there was an absurd post made that we missed.
  23. There's no way to beat a "conner"ing. Either you go right to a duel or your honor is forever tarnished.
  24. I've mentioned many times that my interaction with the family law system here in Philly is disheartening because I've met so many people for whom it is ingrained in their culture to never work. And I do mean never. It's just not part of anything they would even consider doing. I'm not going to lament that they live high and mighty either, with pictures of flat-screens and nice cars somehow. For the most part, these people live like nomads, moving between public-assisted housing until evicted, electricity constantly being shut off, etc. And these are usually (in my world) mothers with children. It's a real nightmare that saying the word "work" to them, you might as well be offering them a job as a neurosurgeon because they will NEVER work.
  25. You have Magox wrong--and this is coming from someone who has vigorously debated him on some other topics. He's far from a liberal. Just because he feels this way about nukes and torture doesn't mean he's a leftist. I see his perspective as someone who feels like the "good guys" (us) need to act like good guys.
