Unbelievably sad video out of Greece...NY
John Adams replied to Buftex's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The kids are horrible but I agree with what another person said. That's the bus monitor? She's beyond terrible at her job. Should kids be monsters? No. But if your job is to enforce some sort of order on the bus, DO YOUR JOB. -

Guessing is your highest level of thinking. Since you find me so fascinating, keep guessing and I'll tell you when you get it right. -

He'd respond to you but his favorite conservative-lemming blog hasn't yet covered the topic. 3rd: You should score some more rhetorical points by putting the jobs you think I've had in quotes. That's sharp work. -

I saw kids doing this on the bus (city bus) in Rochester in 1986. Nothing has changed since then at least. In those Lord of the Flies moments, cruelty can take over for kids. Kids (teens especially) since weakness and fear and group together to poke it. Mob-think rules the teen mind. My bus used to stop at a mental hospital and the McQuaid students were incredibly cruel to some of the people. -
The expansion of presidential authority has been going on for a long time. See, eg, the Vietnam "conflict."

3rd a diarrhetic poster to be sure. But give him credit: Most of his topics are just a link to another story with no original thought attached. -
3.9-4.7 is a huge range of speed in the NFL, and he's yet to out muscle an NFL defender. I hope he does great but at this point, I'd settle for him playing special teams.

I doubt that the Romney voucher plan fixes a lot in the public school system in the US. The root problem in education is parents who don't care. But at least vouchers give people some control over where their kids can go to school and it will help the motivated students. This would destroy the dropout factory schools, driving them to become the worst schools imaginable. Any decent students will leave. Whoever remains will be the worst of the worst, and with the worst families. This is not going to help those schools at all (and I have no idea how you even could help those schools short of dropping an apathy bomb on the parents of kids in those schools. NY Times story

It wasn't me who brought up gas prices. This election has always been about the economy of these critical months. I thought it would be good to ok and Obama would roll. Now it looks bad...and bad for Obama. Plus Mitt is running a great campaign so far.

Bill in NYC needs to come do an "I told you this was coming" post. This proposal is a new pinnacle of stupidity.

It's due to the growth in soccer's popularity that you hear pitch, kit, boots, and keeper more than field, uniform, cleats, and goalie. People are watching a lot more games and getting used to the UK terms.

So far, Romney's general election campaign has been flawless (despite an occasional misspelling), I don't agree with him on the issue of gay marriage or immigration(he's got an Obama-like politically motivated "evolving" spin on his POV on that) but I like it so far. He's focusing on the bigger issues. He's stepping over the sh%^storm of stupid small things. He's trying to keep the superPACs on target and have them forget about nonsense like someone's old pastor. If he can run his campaign like this throughout, he's going to garner a lot of support. That article I posted before said that the more negative Romney got, the less likely he'd get support from Independents. So far, he's only attacked on issues and not been ugly. Hope he keeps it up. I remain cautious about his pandering to the right on social issues but as long as those remain low priority issues, I can live with it. I don't get the feeling that Romney is going to put a lot of effort into gay marriage and other nonsense when he's in office. The economic news will help Romney a lot. I'd quibble with you if you suggest that the mob shouting is a good thing or reflects well on anyone. I hate that crap. The left is infamous for it but it's a BS bully tactic whenever it's done.

But some things you eat just to eat them. You shouldn't live on any of them but if you're visiting Philly and don't get a cheesesteak, you're a dolt. Reading Terminal is awesome--you made the right choice to make the extra effort to get there. It's not on everyone's radar but it's uniquely Philly and got every food you'd want.

4 miles in center city is near??? Tony Luke's does a lot of things right (chicken cutlet is awesome), but not cheesesteaks. And they have zero "atmosphere."
