  1. Since no one will answer your request, except by giving you great answers to questions you didn't ask (they aren't wrong: Reading Terminal kicks ass), go to Jim's Steaks, 400 South Street, Philadelphia...It's about 4-5 blocks from Independence Hall in a kind of cool Philly area. MAny people argue it's got the best steaks in Philly--I tend to agree though I love Pat's as well.
  2. Pretty sure he's proving that you are, with your every response. Moran.
  3. Who determines staff pay? I honestly don't know. Is there some sort of Congressional payscale or is this difference attributable to the congress people? If it's right, this website says Congress members determine it. http://www.legistorm...laries/faq.html
  4. Cutting off parts or reducing libido doesn't make someone unable to commit violent crimes. Mostly it just makes a revenge-seeking public feel better.
  5. I read the Quinnepac summary this morning. Good news indeed. Romney's high road approach so far has been awesome. I hoe he sticks to it because that's become his theme: "Forget the BS issues. Obama is !@#$ing up the economy."
  6. I call serious bullsh... Not a chance this is true.
  7. I hate all of you for feeding this troll. All of you.
  8. You're late to this party Dave. We already discussed this and even invoked your name. Try again Ahab.
  9. I could only nitpick this to say Philly has an identity but there's no doubt that copying NYC does not work.
  10. Jesus. 3rd is defending me and I'm agreeing with OC. Cats and dogs living together. Mass hysteria. The problem with public schools is they are massively funded and systemically flawed. The private schools can't compete because the public schools have no need to. They are not set up or geared to compete. Unlike 3rd, I have seen a ton of really really really bad private schools. The privatization of the Philadelphia schools (which is not really completely private, but that would be a huge digression) that private advocates hoped would be a model for future school district turnarounds has been largely (not completely) a failure. But what these private schools are proving is that competition among low income serving schools is possible, which gives families and students at least some choice of which school seems to be best for their kids, and removes them from the (at least here) pit of Philly public schools. At least private schooling gives parents a choice, while avoiding the entrenched teacher and shifting political whim on curriculum issues.
  11. Despite his attack and 3rd's lack of ability to reason, you haven't launched any defense of the public school problems brought up here.
  12. Or just buy ASAP and lose 15-20%. Oh well, only a couple grand lost at least.
  13. Unless another thread got deleted, it's in the Mitt is up by 8 everywhere thread. Where else would it be?
  14. Wait, what? Conner is back?
  15. He made a dumb conclusion. Doesn't change the fact that you did too.
  16. I want to sue cell phone makers for creating texting.
  17. This topic subject evolved into a public school discussion. No one thinks this nut is typical, but you're all geared up to hear what you want. Turn down your defensiveness. We have discussed the disaster of public school no firing policies here many times. How a piece of trash like this woman teaches school, any school, is beyond many people here.
  18. Don't think I said that this teacher is illustrative of all public schools. I responded to a post about public schools in general. People can do what they want, but it doesn't change the point that most people wouldn't trust the government to control diddly in their lives that mattered until it comes to 7 hours a day of their kids education with classes, rules, and methods that change with the political makeups of school boards, national education policies, union politics, and all manner of voter whims.
  19. Most people wouldn't trust the government to tie their shoe. Don't know why people would trust it with their kids for 7 hours a day.
  20. Posts like this are why the war on women label hangs so easily on the right. And no, that's not me saying that label is good or accurate, but you do your party no good when you don't bring up a single point of criticism besides her sex and appearance. !@#$ing caveman.
  21. How did you beat Dave in Elma to this. I love that the one voice is the teacher--she is about as rational as a jar of mayonaise.
  22. You don't understand that's a hook down your throat every time you talk to him?
  23. Thanks for feeding the trolls idiots. They are multiplying, if you hadn't noticed.
