  1. Not to crap all over this thread, but they were talking aout him on NFL Radio on Sirius this morning (Randy Cross & Pat Kirwan that is). They both like him but had concerns about a part of his game. Forgive me if I'm wrong but I think it was about run blocking. The also said he's a bit "lean" at 290+ pounds. But that shouldn't be a problem.
  2. Yeah a QB would be good! Did anyone watch the playoffs? What we really need is offensive and defensive lines that are tough and physical. It will make ANY coach look like a genius.
  3. I'm still puzzled about this supposedly bad track record you speak of.......
  4. All well and good, someone tell me his w/l record with the Bears and the Lions. 579201[/snapback] Coach of the Year in 2001. Third in Coach of the year voting the year he was FIRED by the Bears.
  5. The choice doesn't suck. It's acceptable and logical. The guy can coach as he was "coach of the year" in 2001. Look at the personnel he had on offense to go 13-3. It's like "Who?" The defense was VERY good. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/chi2001.htm The only thing I had against Sherman is that I've seen him make some questionable on the field calls that remind me of what we just went through this past season. I'm convinced more and more every day that the average Bills fan wants a raving lunatic stomping up and down the sideline (a.k.a. Krumrie or Bill Cowher) because it looks cool. However, after living through GW and MM, I'll take DJ, and hopefully things will be better.
  6. I was thinking the same thing. But then I thought, this is a GOOD thing. I hope Marv/Ralph interview a few more candidates too. I'd love to hear the opinions about our team that they are getting.
  7. It was already published that the Bills told Gray he was not being considered for a HC interview.
  8. I've heard they have "informally contacted" Haslett on two occasions. I wonder if the Bills are trying to find out how much he would cost them and other contract parameters? Also obvious by absence is a minority candidate. Telling Jerry Gray he will not be interviewed doesn't count!
  9. What is this magical thing called a TE that you speak of? I've haven't heard of such a thing in Buffalo.
  10. Yeah, but I look at it another way. He was essentially coming back as a lame-duck coach with a previous hall-of-fame coach looking over his shoulder. Who is going to want to come to Buffalo as a free agent or a hot up and coming coaching talent? NOBODY! I think this could have and should have been prevented in the first place by firing everyone and starting over.
  11. Bill I agree with you 100% about GW. I think that the same thing can be applied to Coach Mularkey as well. However, I will blame TD and the rest of the ownership/management for setting up BOTH of these coaches to fail by making questionable personnel moves, and then basically dropping that in the coaches' lap and saying in a nutshell "here, coach this."
  12. The two QB signings seem odd. Unless, Shane Mathews is finally going to retire?
  13. I totally agree he's a FORCE on special teams. However, he's desperately needed on the OL right now.
  14. I think it goes without saying that we want to draft well and do well in free-agency and then make the playoffs in 2006/2007. I think a MAIN priority before doing anything is to evaluate what we have. I would like a decision made on some players who I believe are questionable NFL talent, such as; Coy Wire, "Fast Freddie", Ryan Neufeld, etc. I hope Marv & company really take a good look at some of the "talent' that we have assembled.
  15. This really burns me. The Bills O-line BLOWS and Tucker was sitting at home waiting for a call from someone. Another poor front office decision.
  16. He's versatile too. He is/was a FORCE on special teams and can play TE. I think he's a must-sign.
  17. I have been saying this for a couple of years. You are 100% right! Campbell is a #2 as far as I'm concerned, his play has been spotty and he's SLOW. Don't even mention Euhus, he's done NOTHING. Neufeld is almost like a FB and shouldnt be an NFL tight end.
  18. I'd keep Fletcher and start Crowell with him and Spikes. Sorry, there's NO WAY I draft a DB in the first round next year. This game is won in the trenches. I've seen too many other teams doing it this year and it has made me a believer. Gotta go OL and DT with the first three picks in my opinion. Protect the QB, run and stop the run baby.
  19. Ya know, I don't care. Any of the Bills coordinators or coaches (or players for that matter) could leave and I wouldn't bat any eye. We just haven't played well enough.
  20. I'd love to see the Bills really key on Gates & shut him down. The other San Diego receivers don't scare me that much.
  21. Clements has appiled for the head coaching position at Temple. OH PLEEEEZE HIRE HIM!!!
