  1. Capers was released today. Have Waters and Stinchcomb reached the end of the road? Or are they waiting on contenders? Brian Waters-G Selvish Capers-OT Jon Stinchcomb-OT
  2. Hartford was going to be the interesting team, too. Wasn't that Jerry Glanville's squad?
  3. I have dubbed next year the "O-line draft". They have addressed the D-line and LB pretty well I think through draft and free-agency. Now it's time to probably spend two out of the first three picks on offensive tackles.
  4. Thank you! Actually ZERO game-planning goes into pre-season games. Teams don't plan for their opponent. It would be worthless to do so since you are only playing 1st team players for a quarter or maybe two. I don't feel anything about a pre-season game. I saw some good individual performances and some things that will hold the Bills back. Ready to move on to next week.
  5. I think there is a bit of a youth movement going on under Gailey/Nix. However, I'd watch this game tonight and see how the receivers play. If guys like Easley can't have a solid game, I'd get Housh on speed-dial.
  6. Myself, I haven't liked the OL in the 1st round the last two years where the Bills picked. Based on Buddy's comments to the AP "We don’t have enough offensive linemen", I'd say we're primed for some OT help early in the 2012 draft.
  7. I think heard he didn't dress the other night. That's why we didn't notice him.
  8. Normally I'd say "b.s." to this however Saturday nights game gave me reason to think. I noticed one of the Bills commercials has only Fitz and Stevie in it, not Lee. I don't think they shot the spot before the game. Maybe the organization had moved on awhile ago.
  9. I was an early supporter of Levi Brown but he looked awful the other night. Reminded me of Losman...his throws are late and he's going to get a receivers head taken off.
  10. I was listening to Sirius NFL last week and they were saying someone should have gone after RT Sean Locklear (ex-Seahawks). The Redskins finally did and they're using him as I guard I guess. I think what I would do if I were the Bills is give Bryant McKinnie a 1-yr deal at about $3 million with incentives that take the contract to about $5 mil. Put him on the PUP list until he's in playing shape, and ride out the year with him either starting or as backup and see what happens. Kinda like Merriman's deal. I really can't stand McKinnie but I think it's a sensible move to make. And I find this article (probably already mentioned somewhere here) to show that's exactly what McKinnie wants. http://thevikingage.com/2011/08/08/bryant-mckinnie-emails-teams-asks-for-2-5-million-for-one-year/
  11. I'm almost hoping they get a player in return if they're going to do something this late. Maybe they think Buster Davis is the answer? Wow, there is no evidence of that. Not that it figures in to the discussion, but I believe Parrish contract is up after this year as well. Can't wait to see how this plays out.
  12. It's probably been mentioned but I think Naaman sticks on the 53-man roster. At this point Easley has lots to prove; he was hurt last year and he's coming back from a second injury today. If he doesn't play lights-out in the pre-season I think they try to clear him to the PS.
  13. David Nelson is really this teams receiving TE. If you look at the types of routes he runs he almost takes the place of a TE.
  14. I'm beginning to buy into the coaching/front office philosophy in regards to the draft. Hopefully The 2011 draft helped the defense/special teams quite a bit (on paper at least) and that the 2010 picks come of age. For 2012 if the Bills look at LT/RT and possibly a franchise QB with their first three picks the Bills could be a marquee free agent away (pick a position) from something special. It's a lot to ask, I know. And no, I haven't been drinking.
  15. Why not, the Bills are well under the cap. There's teams looking for WR's maybe they can trade some surplus at some point.
  16. According to ESPN that Tulloch deal is a one-year deal @ $3.35 million. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6820696/detroit-lions-sign-linebacker-stephen-tulloch-one-year-deal
  17. The Bills have signed three players; one of their own and two FA's. The only thing that would make me happier is if they were an LB or an OL, perhaps a TE. Wait and see.
  18. 4yr deal. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/26/takeo-spikes-joins-the-chargers-clary-re-signs/
  19. If he signs with the Jags its only about the most $$$. Del Rio is one more losing season from being canned and the franchise is a better candidate than Buffalo to be moved to L.A. Having said that Kirwan/Ryan thing Kevin Burnett of SD would look awesome in a Bills uniform.
  20. I thought that was because the Bills DL was a gaping sieve. Maybe it's just me.
  21. Bills should be a force in the UDFA market. There were some good players not drafted this year. That should be really interesting.
  22. If a backup is what the Bills want I think someone like Gradkowski, Tavaris Jackson, Alex Smith, or maybe even Chan's last project Tyler Thigpen could be worth a shot. Why not?
