  1. I think it was Todd McShay who said, take most of the QB's and move them up about one full round from where they should really be drafted.
  2. Levi Brown of Troy is another prospect I think merits some consideration.
  3. I think the Bills are a WINNER in free agency. There's not much out there that can really help us except to just fill a roster spot. Antonio Bryant just got $7 mil per year from the Bucs. That's Anquan Boldin money. Crazy.
  4. If the Bills are that worried about getting Dan Williams I think they can trade down and still get him. There's better players than him at #9. Picking Williams at #9 is like picking Whitner again---overreaching for need. I actually think Stroud, Williams, and Spencer Johnson could do a respectable job in the meantime. I'm more worried about converted DE's at OLB trying to handle passing downs.
  5. I'm starting to lean that way as well. If three OT's go before Buffalo picks, I'm not sure if the fourth OT is the best player on the board. We know OT is a NEED pick, but the Bills linebackers are they currently stand do not inspire confidence as at least two could be DE's making the transition (Kelsay/Schobel). If Schobel retires I think that McLain or Sergio Kindle might make the most impact and are the best available players.
  6. The complete transition will take 2 or 3 years. Whether they are a perfect fit or not, we have to keep some of the 4-3 guys. Release anyone who isn't perfect and the Bills will definitely go 1-15.
  7. 1) Bad free agent class period unless you want to give up multiple draft picks for restricted players. 2) Top-heavy in the draft at LT, not much depth. QB class is very weak. 3) Marv's picks were lackluster, especially in RD #1. Terrible free-agent moves. Hopefully that changes. 4) Trades are easier said than done. Hard to get any value when the rest of the league knows you're selling.
  8. How would we ever know? We had the beginnings of a young and up-and-coming O-line last year and it fell apart. Until you have five guys who can start most of sixteen games, the offense isn't going to function.
  9. The thought I heard today on Sirius NFL was: if you have a pro-bowl left tackle who has maybe two good years left, then this is the guy you would draft. Sit him a year or two; he's a bit of a project.
  10. I was watching the coverage of the tsunami via feeds on CNN's website, and "Captain Jenks" got through with an obscenity. What a fool.
  11. I'd feel better because we have 3 QB's under contract now, and I'd rather see one or more traded for just about anything rather than outright cut.
  12. There was a conversation on Sirius NFL specifically about Williams and some post express what they said: YOU DON'T TRADE GOOD PLAYERS for nothing in return. We're going to have enough holes, don't trade a good player away just because he doesn't seem tailor made for a certain scheme.
  13. Truth. This is not a year to be impatient. The Bills could end up being worse an any year in recent memory. Free-agency isn't going to be great either. I was listening to Detroit head coach Jim Schwartz yesterday, and the Bills have to strive to do what Detroit did last year, find five new starters via the draft. I hate to use Detroit as an example but it's true.

  15. LB is a sore spot if the Bills are going 3-4 and it was going to be an issue anyway if we stayed 4-3. Poz and Mitchell will be inside (Mitchell won't be back until May-I'd be worried about that injury). Ellison is a RFA and I'd be shocked if he's back because he doesn't fit a 3-4 at OLB, same with Corto. Maybin and Schobel would be OLB, but inexperienced. I'm glad our new asst. GM has personnel experience with 3-4.
  16. I heard this conversation on Sirius and you have to take it with the spirit intended. Peter King was saying how Gerhardt would be a great fit for Chan's offense and the fact that the Bills play in the Northeast (bad weather, etc). He equated it with the way Le'ron McLain of Baltimore played in 2008. Not as a FB, but as a RB. Straight-ahead smashmouth power! Will it happen? Seriously doubt it. If he were there in the mid-third it would probably be great value and really tempting.
  17. He had a bad late season knee injury. Wonder how that is coming along.........
  18. Trades aren't that common but maybe the Bills have some 4-3 fodder that another team could use. And extra pick or two could help either in a trade or stockpiling through the draft. It's asking a lot but I hope that the rookie DT the Bills picked up (Lonnie Harvey) can make some sort of contribution until they get some more bodies in.
  19. I don't think Campbell is a good enough leader, that's my problem with him. Besides he's been in a different offense almost every year of his college and pro career. Not good. I think the WR position is a hidden pothole for the Bills. With Owens and Reed possibly leaving that's 82 receptions gone, and would leave Parrish as the 2nd most tenured receiver. I'd think about dialing up Antonio Bryant or maybe T.O. again. NO ONE believes the hype about the Bengals. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...aging-receiver/
  20. I caught both interviews. Nothing really earth-shattering to report. The Saffold kid seems impressive and remember what Buddy Nix said about having "a complete body of work--not a one year wonder", this kid was a four-year starter at OT!! http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dspro...0&genpos=OT
  21. I don't like our lines either and I agree somewhat on the Bills existing QB's, but if Bradford is there at #9, one could argue he's the best available player.
  22. I think #9 is a good place to be. Either you get a good player, or I think it's a hot enough spot to generate some trade action.
