  1. sport today - is all about saying the right thing. agents tell guys to say nice things so they can be paid and get endorsements. if the fans buy your jerseys, you get paid. but it's true - comments can come back and bite a player. i appreciate the kids background, but come on, what is next, "my grandmother brought dominic hasek to buffalo - as she knew the GM of the blackhawks and worked that deal out" ??? BTW, bill - Rob johnson did play that one great game in tennessee. without that smoke and mirrors play (wychex throw to dyson ) we win, and who knows what then. not saying johnson was good, but look at the pathetic supporting cast the guy had. he was run out of here on a rail. hard to repalce jim kelly (ask todd collins).
  2. someone most likely posted this, but i think it was interesting: JP stated that he was NOT rob johnson and that his dad did cement work and his mom worked 2 jobs. while i like his modest past and candor, is he trying to hard to be a blue collar/ buffalo type guy? just be yourself JP and play hard and win games. the fans will love you for who you are on the field - nothing else. these sentences - where he relates to fans - are strange. is sam W. writting these?
  3. MW is getting ready to play his best ball - so that he can test Free agency in a few more seasons and leave buffalo. we will get 2 great seasons from him and then he will head over to seattle or the rams or something... money motivates these slobs.
  4. i like the 2 GM'S take on parrish: TD - he has game speed. TM - he has to be the first to get up off the field after a hit. these two comments speak volumns. parish can fly and will be electric for us. but nice to know he has heart too, something many and most of the little prick slot/scamper/ fly wideouts dont have usually.
  5. think deon branch with this pick. parish can take a 5 yard check down and take it 60 yards. deon branch is IMPOSSIBLE TO COVER because of his size, speed and route running. they run around LBS and safetys like pillons. it was "a down year for big 10 basketball" too, according to the experts. yet msu and illinois did pretty well right? so did wisconsin. each teams needs a slot guy. the faster the better. parish is blazing fast and WILL GO OVER THE MIDDLE. i don't know anyone who says he drops passes. as a senior, he was the 3rd down guru for the 'canes.' looks at moss, coles, steve smith, az hakim, deon branch, troy brown. he is more pollished than dante hall,. parish started at WR for the canes last year and can play in a pro set - on the weak side and will excell in the slot in the national league. very valuable player, especially when you have two prototypical stretch WRS like an older moulds and evans.
  6. correction - roscoe ran a 4.37 in the 40 - timed by the bills.
  7. someone save this post and bring it out in sept when parish is a key player for this team. paris runs a 4.5 - 40 and explodes off the line. he goes OVER THE MIDDLE, which we do not have. he drops no passes. fluid. think on 3rd downs and inthe red zone. josh reed has no speed off the line, he is a good pass route runner - but that was easy to cover. parish is like a little water bug and shifty. think theo flury like. sure he is tiny, but all the teams in the league want sure handed blazers to cut across the cover 2 zones that blanket the post patterns and deep outs by moulds and evans types. think steve smith here, a peanut who can catch 80 balls for 1,300 yards and 10 tds. plus we get a threat on S.T. - ala dante hall for kc. again, our wrs force teams to keep safeties out of the box and let mcgahee break off 5-6 yards chunks. regardless of the line we have, teams can't come at us if we are in 3 WR sets. plus willis can catch in the flats. just a GREAT pick by td, when you think about building around willis and letting JP have targets and knowing that our OL and DL are fine as they are. we replace clements next season with a free agent or draft the corner in 2006. 2005 bills are going to be verticle, willis will have 15 tds, 2, 000 all purpose yards. save this post.
  8. you are a bunch of morons. complete morons. this pick allows mcgahee to explote undernumbered boxes. teams have to cover 3 WRS now. moulds time is coming to an end to boot. further, this kid will enhance the special teams. and lastly, this kid is uncoverable in the REDZONE. he can NOT BE COVERED there. sit back and watch 2005... GREAT Selection by the administration
  9. i posted that we should go after a WR a few days back. it forces teams to only play 6 or 7 guys in the box and here willis can rush for 2,000 yards against these fronts. WOWOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOW!! roscoe parish is flat out awesome!
  10. oh,i see, you are a fins fan. yeah, saban is a terrific coach. this entire bills board will see this when the see him for the frist time in person. the majority have never heard of the guy. as a bills diehard, i can't stand to see you guys get such a talent and have no idea why wilson passed up on him. maybe TD has poor relations with him. but yeah, at msu, saban turned around a pathetic team that had not identity. he was there in the years when they had nothing. he was able to find big time players and instilled quality all positions and coached his heart out. he is relentless with his instruction, yelling and more instruction to players. miami will be prepared to play - TRUST ME. at lsu , he was jsut as effective. his personality ensured that he would be. consitant, focused, smart, savvy, creative and lucky. gutting a team like miami was necessary. look at the morons they had on the team collecting a paycheck for years and years. they will build with character guys and their offensive and defensive lines will be stout. cedric benson could be the man. i can't see them taking rogers. they may deal out of that spot and pick up washington's 2 picks anyway. ricky willaims will be traded as well when the time comes.
  11. well, TD does not want to pay to p10 pick money to a rookie - with the holdouts and bonus. but if we loose moulds soon - it makes sense. plus, willis is hot right now and lord knows how long his knee - which is held together with some dead guys knee - will hold up on that cold snowy crap turf. RIGHT NOW, you strike and get three WRS split wide, calling for nickel and dime secondary and then let willis exploit. with our defense - we could blwo out teams. yes a dream. insted, will get double TE sets and josh reed dropping passes and missed field goals and willis running into 8 or 9 man fronts all season long on the crap knee. but i again ask, is willis a to p5 back right now in this league? i say yes. he can rush for 2, 000 yards, why not go for it? trade away travis and our first next year and our 2nd this season and get a 3rd wide out. again, pragmatically speaking, this fills the moulds departure soon anyway.
  12. ah, yeahhhhhhhhhhhh, asking what the salary is, is a smallllllllllllllllll little joke!!!!!!!! are you kidding me, if the kdi goes and asks that, he is a tool. clearly, that was a joke.
  13. saban is one of the best. he coming to maimi scares me more than other offeseason move in the league this offseason. the guy is relentless and will turn miami into a force in 2-3 years. he knows talent and knows how to get guys to play. at msu - he was simply brillant and made stars out of average talents. surtain was a jacka$s of a guy and an average player, indeed. cheifs are desperate to cover moss - that is all.
  14. We got needs at various places yet - evidenced by our not making the playoffs (i.e., TE, LB depth, center OL, 3rd WR). TD should go after a 3rd WR. Moulds is slowing down now and is not a top 20 guy. the new WR could take his spot at some point. but to go after a WR NOW, and force teams to play only 6 or 7 in the box - would allow willis roam to rush for 2, 000 yards. think about splitting out moulds, evans and another speedy WR ( we could draft)? willis is a homerun hitting back who rips off chunks of yards per run. the more guys out of the box the better. imagine it. josh reed is not the answer. he is to slow for outside duty and does not have the agility to go over the middle (ala steve smith, deon branch, troy brown, santana moss, coles, all the the other midgets 80 catch guys) Do we mortgage the future and deal Travis and our first next year and our 2nd this season for tampa or cleveland (3) pick and take mike williams or braylon edwards? I WOULDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
  15. the key to a good season is as follows (and this list is in no particualr order): 1) health. Luck must keep the key players healthy (mcgahee, spikes, clements, mike Williams, moulds and fletcher) 2) depth. must be able to play. Injuries are part of the game, all the winner ask for the 2nd stingers to be ready to play when needed (ie, pats, green bay in the past, eagles, etc) 3) one or two guys have to have break out years. You need to have two or three guys who play to all pro level and carry the team for many of the must win games. Game breakers are the edge rushers who can get sacks, cbs who get interceptions, rbs who break long runs off, wrs who run past corners on posts or pk who kick long field goals with 90% accuracy. 4) a solid PK. How many games are won with a PK? Tons. Key position. Look at the points they score each year. JP will struggle in the redzone, as all rookies do. The field is shortened. 5) no mistakes late in games by JP rookie qbs maybe be glamorous, but they make mistakes late in games. Most nfl games are won in the 4th quarter. Game planning by mularky will require keeping consistant with calls and easy calls for jp. double TE blocking will be paramount 3rd and shorts - 1990-2000 pitt steelers style ball.
  16. KCCs are desperate for warm defensive bodies. Surtain is average, IMO. i dont see how he can cover Lelie, Moss or McCardell.
  17. they have all the makings for a dynasty. they are stacked with the young top blue chip = PROVEN now and experienced = talent in the league at all positions (CB< QB< TE< PK< OL< RB< OLB). LT, Breese, Gates and Jammer are names enough. then you look at their depth (i.e, look at their defensive line). BTW, any team can rush for 1, 000 yards. 1,000 was a majical number about 15 years ago. that is nothing now. back are after 2,000 total yards. not saying that the bills dont have a good OL. but look at sacks also, and pressures, and batted down passes and the respect teams are giving them with 8 or 9 guys in the box on 1st and 2nd down plays. those are the hallmarks of a good team and good OL. NOT 1,000 yards, like it used to be back in the late 1980s (i.e., george rogers). TD has done a nice job in rounding the roster off and giving us a chance with the talent. but SD has diffence makers and that was evident in the games in 2004 where they blew people out and scored 40 points here and there and had PRO bowlers galor. put it this way, if the bills played SD - they would lose by at least 15.
  18. TD has a nice job, but I agree with one of the early posters on this thread who stated that we have failed to make the playoffs. Conversly, and not to bring up old badness, if you will, but John Butler and AJ Smith have built a dynasty in San Diego. Now, while the knee-jerk reaction is to say that “they had high picks,” they also have built their team’s core with solid 2nds, 3rd and later round lineman. Also, we had the 4th pick, and tons of extra picks from the fire sale for the guys TD cut bait with (Wade Phillips old scubs(Newman, et al.)). Look at these drafts by Butler and Adams: 2001 – L.T. and Breese, ) 02 – Jammer, Fonoti, Caldwall, Leber, 03, Sammy Davis, 04 rivers, Olshansky, Keeding, Oliva, Hardwick. Plus they have added amazing depth with some of their other draft picks and don’t forget finds like: Eric Parker, A. Gates, Willaims and Dingle. They have amazing depth and will be around for years and years to come. Especially if they deal Phillips to San Fran for the #1 overall.
  19. You say: "I'll say something that clearly gives the reader the information I'm not 100% sure of my statement about history." While authoring your profound doctrinal "publications," it a FACT that you give ALL readers, ALL THE TIME, AND EVERYTIME (as you purport to do so 100% of the time) with "something that clearly give the readers the information"? Is your ego-generated mantra a contradiction?
  20. Titanic - the one english broad shows her large cans however. i vote for that movie on the can's merits. i don't understand how those twits in Lord of the Rings won all the 2004 statutes however. WTF! if you were an actor who gave your life to acting or directing for 40 years adn some little runt hobbit stole your thunder you would be pissed....
  21. hey, i'll take a sorry passer like mcnabe and his SB team rather than a: a statute, no right guard, no 3rd receiver, no TE, no PK, no turnovers on DE and suspect coaching anyday.
