  1. the old grey bearded guy with the deep voice who played nick nolty's dad in "affliction"? he was truely a mean bastard.
  2. the old itialian mom ("hey you guyssssssssssssss") from goonies? enrons' ken lay?
  3. jones is a starting back in the league, bruising - 20-30 carry hoss, much like marion butt, but faster and with really soft hands to catch. you watch - i'm saving this save this post...
  4. we don't need another guy in the backfield with a dead guys knee ligament holding his knee together ala the 'horse'. s. williams and Q are similair. Q's balance is horrible. shannahan wanted him because he can catch in the flats. but he is at 80%.
  5. i have never owned a cat - and never purported to do so. however, own's opinion (such as mine were i state, and were you have taken out of context "i have always found them...") is true. in this, in my vast experience with these critters, i have found them to be rather distant, etc. my experience and commentary is based on observerations, literature and unbias, non-prejudiced third party allegations. but hey, as i mentioned 4 or 5 pages ago, i'm open to the ideas that cats are indeed 'cool' animals, and came to this conclusion after reading some of the pro-cat posters comments (as they were very convincing and warmed my heart to the cat theory) really, i mean this. i mean, the cat story in this thread have been terrific, profound, telling, interesting, enlightening and with merit.
  6. Indeed, it is the paper that purports that the jags WOULD need TH. the jags have jones, who is excellent - del rio is very high on him. he could rush for 1300 IMO. but why did this guy write this artilce? does the buffalo news all the sudden write a story about a marginal wr or qb or running back out of the blue? look for the spoking gun here, the grassy knowl if you will. "gee, TH needs some press, get the florida writer on the horn to spreed his value and stoke up the coals." i speak from experience with this type of media duping and pressure technique. while i cannot definitivly say that this FLA writer is partaking in a sinister plan - germinated and orchestrated in TD's living room - it can happen and has happened (not with TD per se, but with other teams, in other sports, etc).
  7. ha. lol. move in with the in-laws? yikes. pabst is indeed a man's/woman's drink. after you dig a hole, or cut down a tree, or move a pallet of rocks or get into an alley fight or get into a car accident or have an oral fight fight with your wife/ husband you pop open a cold can of pabst and reflect upon all that is good in life. the can is simply, classic and the taste - consistant. sing along, pabst loves us and we love pabst...
  8. teams and owners are pawns of their fans my friend. if fans get a 'lets get torches and burn down the courthouse mantra going" the owners and slaes guys and marketing people start listening. losing team are suckers for for media reports and pandering my fans. pt barnum stated that a "sucker is born every second." sure, while gms might balk (as they know the value and ramifications of player moves) the owners are usually professional business people looking to turn a profit, shelter their taxs with the team and have never played a second of organized sport. its all about selling tickets right? an example is hard to quantify and factually prove, indeed. but if you are open to what i have stated above -rather nicely i might add - then you will believe that: 1) atlanta gave up a 1st to get peerless price - after thier owner (home depot owner) decided that vick needed to throw to someone and TD inflated price's value and snookered them in. this would never have happened if rich makay (falcons current gm) was there. 2) i believe that belichec snookered TD. TD HAD TO HAVE A QB to wear the new uniform and regenerate the bills fan base. TD gave up the farm for a statute - mostly because of the pressure of NOT having a qb to sell tickets. 3) drew rosenhaus (willis agent) was calling willis on the ESPN camera to make it look like teams were calling him. while willis was great in 2004, this example displays the mentality that there is duping going on and pressure can fool people. 4) arizona signed emmit smith because arizona is filled with texas and oklahoma transplant workers. his role was to sell tickets, not rush for 1500 yards. 5) john butler (old gm) was a master at inflating a guys value - predraft - in order to have stupid GMs pick that player in a quest to get the guy we actually wanted. butler basically sold stockar mcdougle (lions RT) so that we could get flowers (who was a NO miss prospect at the time) at 26 - the 5th defensive end /tackle taken.
  9. i dunno, i mean, this is not a yes or no answer. it depends on how the individual player responds, how severe the tear was and how hard the player recoups it. some players never regain their speed - due to genetics - and go for the "bulk" up mode. jerry rice did this, so di kevin lylod and others who could not gain the speed they had - so they go bigger to compensate. it is like the bald man growing a goatee?
  10. yeah, stella is excellent. i concur. the belgians are terrific beer makers. why is this? research needed... where are the board scientists...
  11. sounds like a bogus article (i.e., ralph wilson has a a friend of a friend - in the press (florida of all places!) ) write an article - basically stating henry's status and value and simply re-enters his name - as to keep it fresh in the media. other teams are peer pressured often times into moves.
  12. Then of course there are working dogs. The dependence thing is completely turned around. Can you imagine a cat finding someone in an avalanche or buried under a building after an earthquake?
  13. Luca Brattzi? (Coreleon goon who dies by the 'turk' solatzo knife at teh bar)? same movie, the irish cop who punches mchael in the face and breaks his jaw?
  14. Red Stripe? any russian beers?
  15. the detroit pistons of the 1980s - "the badboys" dr. sack leon seals scrouge
  16. saranac is nasty. too hoppy for me.
  17. crackur, again, excellent counter point - that being that the cats these days are pampered and not really vermit killing machines as purported by the pro cat lobby.
  18. miller is a nice project. but his melt downs - LATE IN GAMES IS suspect IMHO. regier said this too, that late in games the netminder makes his salary. who gives a sh-- in the 1st and 2nd periods, it is when the ice is choppy and the ref put the whistle away and the grinders score late in playoff games where a goalie is key (see brodeur, roy, belfour)
  19. wonderful - so we have scientific evidence to go forward with. i will sleep well knowing this - the skunk question is over. i am on pabst # 55555555555555555! where is my SF buddy sing the song again we love pabst, adn it loves ussssssssssssssssss twobills drive all sing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. brad lamb - nuff said!
  21. TD fired the first shot at fort sumter, in south carolina, and started the civil war.
  22. come on man, you got to be kidding with this right? this is a pipe dream. deals like this in the league don't happen. the salary cap implications of this dream would ruin the idea right off the bat, not the mention the merits of the actual trade. owens takes moulds spot with a qb who will throw no more than 3 passes over 40 yards per game - due to his not being able to read blitzes and coverages yet? what worth is owens if we got slot guys then? further, we are riding willis this season, we build around him - not an aging over prices cowboy jackas$ WR. i would love to get simon, as he might be the best tackle in pro ball today next to williams for the viking. but i can't see philly giving him up for henry - we denny green passed on as a 4th rounder worth the talent...
  23. hell nO! s. williams fills to roll of the scat back - light weight. quentin leg is 80% still to boot. just because denver has surplus does not mean that we are after him. were is the rationale for your post coming from? writ down why we should take him and why we need him considering what we have and his health.
  24. it is a bad idea to take to legal advice from anyone that is NOT a lawyer and for anyone that is NOT a lawyer to give advice. be careful here...
