  1. I agree with the "NOT competently coached," but I thought the team (all strings) looked quite comfortable in the no-huddle. As has been said MANY times now, the Bills are not trying to recreate the offense Jim Kelly ran. Rather, it is more of the offense the Colts use -- not "hurrying up," so to speak, just reading, constantly reading, the defense and calling the plays from the line. I think it fits our offense quite well, even those lacking NFL experience.
  2. Yeah, I was laughing hard when they showed Mort as Corner took it all the way back, nailing the door shut on his son's chance of making it in the NFL. I am sure this will go a long ways in helping him get over his hatred for the Bills. I'm guessing he had a little conversation with his kid before the game. "Son, I know you're just the fourth-string QB, but you're going against the worst team in the NFL. I mean, the Bills have been terrible every since they fired the best mind in football, my best friend in the whole wide world. Go out there and light them up. And whatever you do, don't throw a pick-six." We cannot let him live this one down any time soon.
  3. They handled it quite well. I didn't think they look unprepared at all. In fact, it was Tenny that was unprepared on the second play from scrimmage, with their d-linemen still standing and looking backward on the snap. They obviously used this game to get as much playing time for the newbies. Only the top stars came out after the first series (Trent, T.O., Evans and Lynch).
  4. The hit came just as the ball was releasing, keeping Trent from completing his full body motion. It looks like he was forcing it in there, but we won't know if would have been able to because the hit took a lot off that ball.
  5. Outstanding, as always.
  6. It won't get to that. It's that simple.

  8. Agreed. I would be surprised if Mr. Wilson and company did log some kind of complaint. The NFL shouldn't allow it, plain and simple.
  9. Yet, posters here continue to say Byrd is going to bump Whitner from the starting lineup rather than Scott.
  10. Here is the link, by the way: http://bit.ly/45v9Hs
  11. Not exactly, Burress' case will still be pending, and innocent until proven guilty. Lynch was convicted before he was punished.
  12. Clearing Pierce was the right move. I'm willing to bet Burress will be on the field for some NFL team by opening day.
  13. I was going to post something along the lines of "don't underestimate what another season under Chambers' belt can mean," but then I remembered this is Chambers' sixth season. I would think the Bills have good grasp of just what he can and cannot do.
  14. I read the Wall on my Blackberry a lot, which limits how much I can see at a time, so I have it scrolled to the right to read the posts. I can usually tell who most of the posters are, but every now and then, I'll scroll to the left after reading the post to see who said "that"!
  15. Why won't these coaches just listen to us?!
  16. To be clear, I am hoping Butler's back injury is minor and keeps him out for a very short time. But DJ didn't exude confidence on this issue yesterday. So, if it turns out Butler will be sidelined for let's say the rest of camp, would that force the Bills to bring in another decent (near-starter quality, at least) offensive tackle? I ask because I would love to see the Bills move Walker back over to RT and sign Levi or someone else with experience starting at LT. And if it does require bringing in someone new to start on the 0-line, what does that do to the potential use of the no-huddle? Remember, Turk blamed the late arrival of Peters for not implementing the no-huddle last season.
  17. The article said Levitre is getting all the first-team reps and looked good in the running game. I think that is quite positive.
  18. Two major flaws in the article. First, Whitner is not going to lose his job. If Byrd had come in and played great all through camp, it would have been Scott getting the demotion. That's a pretty huge error for the writer. Second, the stinkin' fish are known for often being blessed with decent weather when they come to Buffalo late in the season, not "blizzard-like conditions that always encase Ralph Wilson Stadium when the Dolphins come to town." But overall, not a bad look at the match-up. I agree that the fish's weak secondary could really help the Bills get at least one if not two division wins at their expense this season.
  19. Yes, as of right now, he my favorite player in that league. And by default, I'll make Vegas my favorite team. But I don't think I'll be buying his jersey anytime soon -- or ever, really.
  20. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2009/07/31/o...pened-with-sam/ I presume this will mean another WR will be needed for the next couple of weeks.
  21. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patr..._to_work_o.html Yet more camp fodder, or a legit special teams candidate?
  22. An excellent article from Lindsay Carucci today regarding the no-huddle and how one new Bill will have some insight to share... Rhodes knows no huddle
  23. Yes, Chris Brown reported a little while back that Jim Kelly has been consulted about the no-huddle and provided insight to the coaching staff and directly to Trent.
