  1. I think the Bills are in a win-win-win situation here. If the trade happens, yes, he makes the Jets a good deal tougher for now (which isn't saying much), but he also keeps them from developing a young QB and likely extends their rebuilding process by at least two years. If the trade happens and Favre retires to stay away from NJ, then it ties the Jests' front office and coaching staff up for a while as they try to hash things out and embarrasses the team. If the trade doesn't happen, there will be plenty of rumors that it fell through because Favre refused to come, which embarrasses the Jests any way and has to shake their current QB's morale.
  2. I am bringing my 1-year-old son to SJF tomorrow and would love to hear any ideas my fellow Bills fanatics have on how I may formally or ceremonially induct Joey into the Bills family. We live in Redskins' country, and my wife has been a Skins fan for just about all her life, so it is important to get to my son early and often on this. Honestly, I feel a little guilty puling him into this often-painful life that comes with loving the Bills, but that's the way it must be. He will be a better man for it. My wife, who is 8 months pregnant with another son (and future Bills fan), is coming to camp too and supports the Bills out of respect for me. She understands that being a Bills fan is a way of life. She knows what it takes, and I may convert her into a die-hard Bills fan, eventually. So, she will be fine with whatever I decide to do. I was thinking a tattoo, but I was told he is too young...maybe for this second camp. Any and all suggestions or ideas would be appreciated...even the funny ones. Thanks!
  3. He really does have an unbelliable following for a punter.
  4. Even though the game is only in week two, a win against the Jags would be a huge boost to the Bills' playoff chances. I agree that the Jags appear to be Super Bowl contender this season.
  5. My biggest hang-up with straight conditioning at the level I am talking about here is that our practice time is very limited, and we have a lot of ground to cover in getting these children ready to play. For that reason, I am working conditioning into the instructions. Running hils or doing monkey rolls has lot less value educationally than running or blocking for 10 yards down the field after each play.
  6. Problematic is that you are only willing to consider the home-grown players in this, but that is that. Now, why does it look to you the Bills wanted or asked anyone to give major discounts? Rather, the Bills simply decided these players weren't going to be worth they money they'd get elsewhere. I stand by my opnion that race did not have anything to do with those choices, whether they were good or bad choices aside.
  7. Got it. No problem. The Double Wing has four backs, if you include the quarterback - a fullback and the two wing (half) backs. I'll be interested to hear from anyone who has seen or worked with it.
  8. I understand that, Steve. Thanks. Your earlier post was very helpful, by the way. I believe we agree on what coaching youth football is suppose to be all about -- youngsters having fun while learning and practicing the fundamentals of football and teamwork. I don't think the Double Wing is a gimmick though. I may be completely wrong ion this, and that is why I am posting this question here. The old wedge is the most basic of all football, involving immense teamwork, selfless play that truly depends on everyone to contribute each play. I completely agree that no one at any level below college should try to win based on "coaching genius." But it seems the Double Wing is just straight forward, he who hits hardest and executes best wins. There are counters and bootlegs to keep the defenses honest, which is a basic part of football, but I am thinking it doesn't take much of a "genius" when there are only six plays in your book. Have you ever faced or watched a Double Wing offense? If it is a gimmick, I don't want to do it.
  9. Thanks again. I am ready for the parents. I have thick skin and a knack for diffusing madness. I have another question for everyone. I am trying to decide which offense to use. The Double Wing is one that seems to really fit what I would like to do -- power mixed with misdirection. But I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with the Double Wing, even just seeing it runin person?
  10. Thanks, gents. I really appreciate it. Please, keep posing if you have more.
  11. Damn, I am so glad to log in this morning to find so any other jumped in on this "converstation" with 1billsfan. I believe he/she is racists and stupid, which is redundant, I know. Before you go get your baby sister to tell on me, 1billsfan, read your own posts. Further, try reading all the posts responding to your claims. Do you honestly believe everyone but you is wrong? I believe every single point you've attempted to make has been soundly defeated in this thread. In case you missed the latest responses regarding your qestions/claims about Kelsay:
  12. I played football in H.S., but that was 12 years ago. I have been thrust into the head coaching spot for 9- to -10-year olds. We are new the the area, and I had originally asked a few months ago if they would let me be an assitant coach. They said the coaching staff was full. The team started practice last week, and they quickly figured out they have too many kids for one team, so they are making a "select" team and a "recreation" team, something of a developmental squad for first-year players. My step son never played before, so he is going to be on the rece team, which is the team I am the head coach of now. My assitant coaches, both of them, aren't really knowledgeable. But all six of the coaches on the select team are, so they told me they would offer any advice I might need. But, none of them are Bills fans. Really, the coaches on the select team do not have any children in the youth system, so I am not 100 percent sure what they are doing here, but I know they seemingly are just fine with thrown the kids on the rec team to inexperienced guys, so I am not expecting too much guidance from them. I won't get a chance to choose my players, but I will get them early next week. So, any advice from you?
  13. Does anything in this forum not first come from the Drudge Report?
  14. I guess he could always become yet another follower and be the 70,000th fan at the stadium with a Poz jersey. Williams seemingly has a very decent chance at being the starting right DT.
  15. My above posts have not been in defense of the Bills' judgment, rather I was disputing claims the Bills are basing their decisions on race, a preposterous claim, IMHO. As for cost-benefit analysis, I think a big part of that has to start in the analysis of the player's worth. And I think the Bills badly misjudged Pat Williams' worth. As for those drafted, teams whiff big time every year in the draft -- either drafting a bust, someone too early or passing on a future Hall of Famer. To effectively make a cost-benefit analysis, one needs to know both the cost and benefit -- neither are clear in the NFL, so it is tricky and risky business.
  16. I could argue until I'm blue in the face with you, but the fact is you have your agenda and nothing is going to get in your way. You openly pretend to know what the Bills are thinking, what players are thinking, what is happening in closed-door contract talks, that you are a better judge of a player's ability than those who choose who go to the Pro Bowl. With your sources and insight, why hasn't ESPN, SI or at least the Buffalo News approached you yet? You want to focusing on a small sliver of what the team does in a feeble attempt to continue this claim that the Bills are mistreating minorities , and then you even distort that sliver. You want to the throw out the fact that the team pays out millions and millions to non-white players, constantly paying high prices to bring in more and more. I'm not going to argue against claims that past Buffalo regimes have let players go whom the team really needed, Pat Williams is still missed. But I will say I am glad the team didn't overspend to keep Nate. I firmly believe the Bills' decisions have had nothing to do with race but rather cost-benefit analysis.
  17. No, but I do follow the team closely and have for many years. Although you say you disagree with me, you haven't been able to dispute one fact I've stated. And in my opionion, you're the one -- not the Bills -- who seems to be hung up on the race of players. Your claims of possible racism by the Bills were thoroughly debunked here last week. I asked the “very white” question today because you ignored it three times last week and because, to me, it leaves a lot of questions open as to where you come from ideologically. Why do you continue to ignore the fact the Bills rewarded McGee, who was a Pro Bowler, with a new conract? Is it because that proves your repeated statements about the Bills not signing black players the same as they do white players? As I said, Schobel had to show up to camp before he got his. McGee's contract came in the October after is Pro Bowl year. You also look right past the fact that the Bills have used its top draft pick on non-white players the last 16 times and running. the big trade this year? For a black guy. Damn raciststs.

  19. Go ahead and continue to spout your hatred for the team's front office as long as you're ready to eat your hat when they sign Evans to a new contract before August is over. Yes, I am ready to eat my hat if that doesn't happen. Further, keep in mind they didn't give Schobel his contract extension until late August -- the 24th, I believe. As for Winfield and Williams, it was TD's team then and they were in some cap trouble. As for Nate, he wanted to be a free agent because he correctly guessed he could get an insane amount of money for some team with stupid people running it. We are all much, much better off having not paid Nate what the 49ers gave him. Lastly, what did you mean by "very white" when you wrote that about Schobel last week?
  20. He posted the other day that he has a Smartphone and is still learning the software.
  21. This week will be a big test for the young guy. The fines are really going to start adding up. I believe they will top $100,000 by mid-week. I wonder if players make it a stipulation in negotiations that the already incurred fines be waived?
  22. Thank you, bad news for the stinkin' fish is always good news for me. I need that being a Monday morning and all. The artilce has a great, great lead... SQUISH THE FISH!!!
  23. Mr. Peters, take notice. Mr. Hester got what he wanted, but he had to pay $30,000 in fines first! Mr. Peters, you are now working on $75,000 in fines, unless you van get to Pittsford in the next two minutes.
  24. My point is that I don't believe there is another agent out there who has/has three holdouts this season. The Bills, and now the Rams, are saying this agent's tactic is not the way to do business.
  25. The Rams told Jackson they are willing to talk about a new deal but not while Jackson is holding out. As already mentioned here, the Bear's Hester held out the first couple of days of Chicago's camp. Hester has the same agent as Peters, too. Hester reported without a new contract after losing more than $30,000 in fines. Am I the only one thinking this agent (Eugene Parker) just might be giving his clients bad advice? Linky to Chris Brown's report on this...
