It’s funny he talks about his draft class only having 2 DB’s Xavier Rhodes and Darius Slay left playing in the league. Micah Hyde was in his draft class. 😂 -
It makes sense to bring him in. I’m wondering if they’re waiting for some cap loophole or something.

OBJ responds to rumor he signed with the Bills

Cook is basically another Slot WR. Lol. You’re losing this battle with your favorite front office. It’s not us. Allen has had success with those smaller shifty WR’s. John Brown is very small for a X as well, small arms as well. Allen and Daboll turned out his best career year. With the OC change we might see different personnel groupings but I don’t see a lot changing in terms of route concepts. Just face it, we love our smallish shifty WRs. -
All we can do is wait and see. Everyone posting here knows what’s at WR. The Bills know what’s at WR.

When you’re talking outside WRs they aren’t equal. In the traditional sense the X is the best most physically gifted WR and lines up on the line of scrimmage. The Z is an outside WR that lines up off the ball. The Z can come in all shapes and sizes because like the slot, they have an easier release being off the ball. The Bills have used a bunch of smaller WRs during Allen’s best seasons. The Bills offense spreads the field. It’s not your traditional offense. We’ll see Diggs lining up at all WR positions. -
If we’re only basing this on their last 2 games then Allen is the scariest athlete ever. I don’t know where Allen goes after last year’s playoffs. No one does. He was in the zone as he’s said. I remember the Falcons game right before the playoffs as well. One of his worst games of his career. A lot of poor decisions. Allen is still inconsistent, but we’re watching him grow into the scariest QB in the NFL. It’s a process man. Eventually he’ll get there the way he’s going. If I’m a defensive coordinator and get to choose the QB I face out of Rodgers, Mahomes, and Allen, I’m picking Allen. That’s right now. He’s in the conversation, who cares who people pick at this point? I’m not going to dislike someone’s answer if they say Allen’s the scariest. I don’t agree but I’m not hitting the dislike button.

And I’ve said a bunch of times it’s not about depth. People worried about WR aren’t sold on Gabriel Davis. Cincinnati fans likely aren’t worrying about whose the X and Z behind Chase and Higgins.

Most teams don’t have a player on the bench they can plug in as a WR1. The last couple Super Bowl teams had the unique opportunity to add legit WRs as depth during the season. No one will complain if the Bills add WR depth. There aren’t many that come off the bench and can impact. I don’t think you’ve ever actually stated a plan for WR. What exactly were the Bills options at WR? Allen Robinson? That wasn’t happening. Are you specifically talking about the draft? I don’t really know what you’re saying they should’ve done? Julio Jones and Will Fuller are available. Will Fuller is intriguing to me because we don’t have anyone like him. TY Hilton and Desean Jackson are also available. DeDe Westbrook. Are any of these players seriously changing our Super Bowl chances? Add depth, no one will complain. But reality is no one is replacing Diggs if he goes down. Sure, short arm WRs tend to be slot. Yes Shakir has shorter than average arms. I personally don’t think it matters too much in todays game. He’s stocky built WR. Most WRs are long and lean. I don’t think it’ll be the reason he can’t play outside. He’s a great contested catch WR. If his arms were 30.5” instead of 29 it really wouldn’t change much.
-
Shakir is not just a slot WR. He’s likely going to get plenty of time at the X and Z as depth. I think most teams 3rd and 4th X and Z WRs are pretty pedestrian. What teams have great depth outside? Can you name 10 teams with good depth at the X and Z wr positions?
-
We don’t really run an offense that needs a true X and a true Z. Although I guess that could change now with a new OC. I don’t think it’ll be much different.

Was your source your eyes? It was obvious he was out of shape. That said, Dawkins has been very consistent. Last year was a strange year. He was terrible the 1st half or so of the season, probably due to Covid and conditioning. He’s never been less than an above average LT. So I felt he’d rebound as the year went on and continue being that above average LT that he’s always been. He turned into a dominant LT towards the end of the season. I’m not sure what changed but he went to a different level of play. There’s absolutely no worries with Dawkins other than his conditioning early last year. I’m anxious to see where he goes this year. Does he fall back to being above average or does he continue where he left off last year playing like a top 10 LT?

There is no chance Josh Allen is scarier than Aaron Rodgers. I have no problem putting him 2nd though. Rodgers is on a different planet.

OBJ responds to rumor he signed with the Bills

That or they can make a trade in season if the WR depth is a problem. We’ve got to see how it goes throughout camp and preseason. Hopefully Shakir shows signs like Davis did. -

I’m sure you count Shakir as slot depth but the Bills feel he can play outside as well. -
I love it but Aaron Rodgers and Mahomes are still the scariest in my opinion. Allen right there close to them.
