  1. There are a bunch of below average starters they could’ve signed. There will be a lot cut in couple weeks. Knowing how McDermott runs his defense I would rather have Settle and Phillips DTs than a quality backup WR.
  2. CB was an obvious need so why even mention that? I think most people agreed having a developing WR with talent is smart. We don’t have that guy as of today. Shakir has played all over the field but he’s built as an inside WR. So we know all that. Hopefully next draft they add another Gabe Davis or better type prospect or 2 to keep the WR room full. But this year we’re thinking more about veteran depth IMO. Someone who can come in and run all the right routes for Josh for a game or 2 if something happens to Diggs or Davis. We don’t have that guy either. There will be cuts. Right now our top 2 outside guys are set and we have depth at slot and TE. WR depth is not something to get all worked up about unless you don’t feel Gabe Davis is a WR2.
  3. What does that even mean? DJ Chark and OBJ aren’t depth they are starters. I want Will Fuller but would he sign here to be a backup? I have to be realistic. Maybe. OBJ also a maybe. But these guys definitely want a path to targets at some point. I think I’ve said it a million times. The Bills are sold on Gabe Davis. No more split reps. So when you talk depth you have to be realistic and look for backups, not starters. Did they do all they could? I would think so. Tim Settle and Jordan Phillips are probably going to play at least 50% of the defensive snaps without an injury. So when people say spend cap space on a backup WR instead of a rotating DT they don’t make any sense. That DT plays an important role. The backup WR we hope we never see.
  4. Not at all. Many acknowledge the lack of depth outside. The question I have always had for those critical of the Bills depth outside is what would you have done? Easy answers are sign someone like DJ Chark. But he’s not coming here to play behind Davis on a prove it contract. So that’s just not realistic. So when you start getting realistic and look at the options I think they can still address depth today and after cuts. As for what Beane says, yes it matters. It’s hard to get players to just come here and play behind Davis. That’s why I don’t think we’re going to sign OBJ, TY Hilton, or Will Fuller. But when he says he’s looking I believe him. In Tampa Julio can still get a lot of snaps in 3wr sets without disrupting anything. Godwin moves inside 60% of the snaps. He and Gage will battle for snaps. I think once cuts start happening we can find a solid depth WR.
  5. Offense and defense are going at it this camp. Iron sharpens iron.
  6. Did you happen to catch Brandon Beane on WGR yesterday? He agreed with you, we’re slot heavy. He also says Shakir is more of a slot guy. He said we’ll continue to look for outside depth.
  7. I like Chark. He definitely would have added depth and challenge Davis for his position and targets. I dont think that was realistic unless you signed him as WR2. He definitely would’ve improved depth. He turned down some bigger deals. How about anyone available now or possible cuts/trade? Honestly the guy I think Buffalo should look at is in Tampa. Breshad Perriman.
  8. I’ll ask again, who did you want? You never answer.
  9. I think what happened is everyone got their hopes up for Jameson Williams in the draft. I would’ve loved Williams but he didn’t get close to our pick. Olave, Burks, and Dotson all went much higher than expected earlier in the draft process. The Bills drafted a WR that plays all over the field. He’s also having a great camp so far. In free agency I’m not sure what exactly people wanted them to do? Who exactly are you feeling comfortable starting if Diggs gets hurt? Julio Jones, Will Fuller, and OBJ on the bench sounds amazing. None of these WRs stay healthy. After those guys who makes you feel comfortable starting?
  10. That’s Tampa. One team. Godwin is also coming off an ACL. Tampa has great WR depth. Bills have great DL depth. That’s where they wanted to pour assets into. So basically you believe Julio Jones wanted to come sit the bench in Buffalo on a cheap contract but Beane said no?
  11. Scariest QB in the league right there.
  12. The offense was sizzling last year in camp. This year they’re struggling. I think it’s the defense but it is something to watch with the new OC. Josh is way more active in drills this year. I’m not sure how to take it yet. Talking more and going through things with the WRs.
  13. Tom Brady about to turn 45? Why did I think he was 40?
  14. I still don’t understand what people think the Bills are supposed to do? Just stockpile starting WRs on the bench just in case? I do think they’re going to sign a WR before the start of the season but if Diggs gets hurt he’s not going to replace him. Tampa makes sense for Julio. Godwin plays a lot in the slot. Julio has a chance to hit some incentives.
  15. Having a female coach do the cup check is true equality.
  16. Here’s my argument. On almost every play we think Edmunds took a bad angle resulting in a long run the all pro safeties we have also took bad angles. Lets also add this defense doesn’t give up much so those plays stick out.
  17. Sign Edmunds to a 5 year extension locking him up for the next 6 years. The money will look huge but structure it to keep cap hits reasonably low this year and next. Give yourself an out after year 3. Use the extra cap this year to extend Poyer 2 years.
  18. Never complains. He’s not a rah rah guy. Goes about his business. Always in shape. Biggest ILB in football. Athletic freak. Voted team captain of a Super Bowl contender. Hardly misses games. Plays hurt. Plays every snap. Never comes off the field of a number 1 defense. Calls the plays. There are people on here that think AJ Klein replaced Edmunds and made plays but the reality is he replaced Milano and made plays. We hated Klein vs Indy when he replaced Edmunds. The other game I believe was the Jets he replaced Edmunds and the defense dominated as predicted.
  19. His tackle depth was better than Milano. I’m not sure what you mean he doesn’t tackle well? It’s better than most LBs. And he makes a lot of tackles so that should tell you something. Edmunds grades poorly on analytic sites. I’ve never felt Edmunds was a consistent problem on defense. There are plays I watch back and think Edmunds could’ve been better but it’s not a that pops up often. His coverage for me is hard to grade because he mostly covers space and not a man. Milano is typically used in that role. Edmunds lacks game changing plays. He’s mostly a space eater in this defense. That’s something that is hard to grade for me. I know analytic sites grade him poorly.
  20. Edmunds is probably exactly how McDermott draws up his perfect player. We can debate about the lack of big plays forever, but he’s such a professional in everything he does.
  21. On schedule means between September and December. September is 9 months. Conservative timeframe is typically 9-12 months. Some players can return earlier than the 9 months with aggressive treatment. Without any setbacks I think he’ll be ready to play in September. But I think the Bills will take it as slow as possible. Using a 4 week IR seems likely.
  22. This one will do. Kay will be blessing our screens soon enough.
