  1. Consistent cheating helps that number. My life hasn't changed much since XXXVIII, except that my hatred for the Cowboys was exacerbated by a boss I worked for about 10 years later who (to this day) still doesn't let me forget about Superbowls 27 and 28...and how the Bills are an annual joke.
  2. Didn't think that, but a friend suggested to me that this might be The Greatest Show on Turf Part 2. The only thing missing is a stud second WR for the Falcons - Julio is an absolute beast, but Sanu or Gabriel don't scare me as much as Torry Holy & Isaac Bruce did.
  3. But it would at least be someone different. Green Bay is pretty much my second favorite team, but I wouldn't be upset to see Atlanta in there. I saw something yesterday that said every Superbowl (except for one) since 2004 has included Roethlisberger or Brady. Talk about ZZZZZZ.....that's 13 years of the same old crap. EDIT - I meant that every Superbowl since 2004 involved Roethlisberger, Brady, or Peyton Manning.
  4. A very close friend of mine for the past 30 years (also the best man at my wedding) is a big Cowboys fan. I feel bad for him... ...but nobody else affiliated with that franchise. I cheered when Crosby's FG was good. I will continue to loathe that team to my grave.
  5. He was thinking "look at me" like every other athlete today. Keep that stuff in the locker room, AB.
  6. Dak played well, but Rodgers was better. This was a GREAT game played by two very good teams. No need to stomp on anyone for this. Bayless just says stuff to get reactions out of people. It's why ESPN got rid of him and it's why he's on a second-rate network that most people don't even get. Just ignore him and he'll eventually go away.
  7. This. No way the NFL will allow this to happen.
  8. It's been a week and four guys have been interviewed (that we know of). With all the initial rumors that Lynn was the front-runner, it seems to me that may not be the case anymore. I would've thought that he'd have the job by now if they were that high on him. McDermott makes sense and the current personnel on the team would fit into his zone-based scheme. I'm not sure if he runs a 4-3, but the defensive linemen and LBs on this team fit into a 4-3 better than what Rex/Rob were trying to do.
  9. I'd rather take Bo Scarborough at 10.
  10. Why is Vance Joseph considered a HC candidate?
  11. I remember the spin being that Rex (not Rob) would run *his* defense in 2016, not the "hybrid" between his D and what Schwartz was doing. This was supposed to have made things simpler.
  12. The free agent crop of QBs is weak and there's no Andrew Luck or Peyton Manning in the draft this year. Work out a deal to keep Tyrod for another few years at less money, then start drafting QBs every year.
  13. I had been recording every Bills playoff game...I stopped the VCR at halftime, but something convinced me to keep recording. I've almost worn out that video tape, but eventually got it onto a DVD.
  14. Seriously?? He was hit as he threw the ball...how was that grounding? How has NFL officiating gotten to be so god-awful bad?
  15. This. I don't know if a "players' coach" means he just doesn't hold his players accountable, but I certainly feel that players are comfortable around the coach. To me, a successful coach has the right balance of being someone the players are comfortable with yet someone that can discipline or keep everyone in line. I don't think we've ever heard people say that Bill Belichick, Bill Cowher, Bill Parcells, Nick Saban, or Urban Meyer are/were "players' coaches" - those are coaches whose teams have been (or were) continually successful and every one of those men struck me as a disciplinarian of sorts. At the same time, I can see that if you're on the same page with that type of coach, you can be comfortable playing for him. Rex just didn't have that swagger and respect that the coaches I referred to had/have. If you made a mistake, I don't know if Rex disciplined you...but he certainly took the blame.
  16. It still baffles me to this day why the Bills hired him (outside of the Russ Brandon-like marketing crap) when he had shown to the world how he just lost his team with the Jets. His brash act was refreshing when he was hired in NY, but it grew stale after a while. As much as the players loved him, he wasn't motivating them enough. His playoff guarantee was nice...I guess...but he never put his money where his mouth is. On the field, the players were undisciplined and I'm sure were constantly out of sync - just look at how many times they wasted a timeout because the play call wasn't in on time or the wrong personnel were on the field. You don't see stuff like that from winning teams.
  17. This. A lot depends on who the coach will be, but since McCarron is young enough and will not likely replace Dalton anytime soon, I think this is a good play. I'd endorse getting Romo, but only as long as it doesn't cost too much.
  18. Chan Gailey & Dave Wannstedt said the same thing
  19. My take on "continuity"... If you're winning, maintain it. If you're losing and not showing any improvement, it's an excuse to keep the coaching staff. Why use the "continuity" defense if the existing staff isn't getting it done? I'll also argue that you should give a coach 3 years to win, get to the playoffs, improve the team, etc. In this case, Rex has a history. He showed his last few years in NJ that he wasn't inspiring the team. It's obvious he's doing the same here. Time to move on.
  20. They haven't won in Oakland in something like 58 years. Raiders 31 Bills 23
  21. We've all seen this movie before. Let's wait until a spot is actually clinched before we celebrate.
  22. I only wish the offense could've finished a couple of those drives and put the ball into the end zone. When your defense plays like they did the past two weeks, you don't need a lot of offense. However, the D may not always play like that. I'll admit...the win is a little tempered by NE not having Brady in there, but I won't complain. A win is a win.
  23. If we want some positive vibes, Lawson is supposed to be ready sometime in October, Dareus will be back in Week 5, and the offense is supposedly going to be re-vamped under Lynn. I don't necessarily mean that all of this will translate to the playoffs, but there are some things to look forward to.
  24. Brandon Tate just made Reggie Bush expendable.
  25. You don't use a regular season game to "warm up". That's what preseason is for. I think this was a bad game plan combined with players being out of sync.
