  1. What tree is the Ben Johnson offense from? Love the creativity I see out of that system.
  2. Maye looks like the truth. His skill positions are pedestrian and he has no running game to speak of, but he still finds ways to move that offense. He has great awareness from what I’ve seen and throws an even more catchable ball than Allen. If New England stays healthy, they should get a WC spot with that soft schedule.
  3. It’s super impressive that he can go to an all new offense with different language/plays and be able to run it, even if ineffectively.
  4. I remember when the Jets O was so beastly against Pittsburgh, many around here were calling them “Baltimore-Lite.” What an insult to Baltimore that comparison was.
  5. Get Fields out of there, if for no other reason than wanting a spark.
  6. Yeah, guys like a Chase and Jefferson are in the one percentile of receivers in the league.
  7. Yeah, only Lamar Jackson consistently has receivers that are “high school” open. For most in the league the receiver will usually have 1-2 yards of separation and it’s on the QB to either throw them open, or put a pass right on them when they’re open. I do think this offense needs more pick/rub routes and less WR bubble screens. We’re not getting blitzed much so those screens are seeming like wasted downs. Too much horizontal passing for my liking.
  8. Seems like there are a lot more injuries in today’s softer league. Guys were far more calloused up back in the day with two a day practices and legal harder hits. There was no “defenseless receiver.” I think because guys were more calloused, they probably knew how to protect themselves more. Soft tissue injuries also weren’t as frequent because they were on the field all the time.
  9. What is Daboll’s approval rating now after last night’s win? Are Giants fans happy with him or do they still want him gone?
  10. We need to find our version of Bills Parcells.
  11. Dart should’ve been playing from week 1. He was impressive in the preseason too. They may have beaten KC with him at QB.
  12. Yeah, Marino said going into the game the Patriots struggled mightily against multiple TE and RB sets where the QB passed and we did it a grand total of 2 times for 43 yards. That’s just piss poor scouting by Joe Brady and the offensive staff. You’re supposed to attack a team’s weakness, what they don’t do well and force them into adjustments which would then open up other opportunities. We didn’t force the Pats into anything. I almost never feel like the offensive or defensive staff schemes specifically for opponent and is ahead of the opposing coordinators.
  13. The annual lulls are like clockwork. The Bills have an excellent September, where they look like the best team in football, followed by a dreadful October and early November, and then start playing well leading into the playoffs before an injury depleted defense does them in. Same script year after year. Except this year they haven’t been as stellar in September, squeaking past the lowly Dolphins and Saints (yes, I know both were double digit wins). Maybe that breaks up the Oct/Nov lulls a bit.
  14. I’ve noticed the same: both games where Diggs was on the opposing sideline, there’s been a bit of an uncharacteristic performance from Allen. There were plays to be made that he’s made against other teams, but he presses.
  15. I’d really like to dumb down the defense, have the CBs play “man up,” physical and close to the line of scrimmage, challenge the receivers. If they get beat physically, so be it, but force the QB to make a good throw and the receiver to make a contested catch. They’re getting beat anyway right now by giving up too much space, receivers are constantly running free in zone without a defender to immediately pop them or break up the pass.
  16. I remember Oweh had ridiculous athletic traits and if I was going DE in round 1 I think I would’ve gambled on him over Rousseau. Glad to be wrong here. Both need to be better pass rushers though.
  17. KC still top 5 after a 2-3 record?
  18. Can’t have enough injury prone players. In all seriousness it makes sense given he knows the system and can step in should Milano miss extended time. Will he play more than a game before getting injured is anyone’s guess.
  19. I don’t remember a fumble, but I do remember a quick slant pass that went off his hands and Ramsey I believe it was picked it off. Would’ve been an easy TD, Keon never seemed the same after that game (and the injury).
  20. Therein lies the rub. Everyone wants a Bonafide #1 WR but I’m not so sure Brady’s passing design would allow that player to go off game after game. Diggs was a very real and viable target under Dorsey, but fell off a cliff once Brady ball took over. Seems like every receiver who comes into this offense is a lesser version of themselves - that includes Palmer, Samuel, and Moore, who all produced decently well elsewhere.
  21. Lack of foot speed, lack of quickness, and a lack of tight coverage.
  22. Another CB that was likely in consideration at our pick - Trey Amos - was all the talk of Commanders camp. Supposedly was looking like a star. I think he got banged up too, but I don’t know how he has fared. We need Max to desperately upgrade the secondary.
  23. It’s the first time that conservative offense has produced multiple turnovers in what I can remember, but I agree 100%. Joe Brady likes to play small ball in a run first oriented offense and only seems to get aggressive when there’s urgency. Let’s throw out bubble screens unless the opposing team is blitzing relentlessly. Let’s attack down the field and in the intermediate. More rub/pick routes if the receivers can’t get open. One of the things about playing against Tom Brady and Belichick’s defense was that both of those units always seemed to be “on.” Their offense was ALWAYS a threat, Belichick’s defense was ALWAYS scrappy and challenged everything. If you beat them it was well earned. I feel like the Bills think they can turn it on when they need to and that’s what concerns me most. They need more of that Belichick Patriot relentlessness throughout the entire game, not only when it’s needed.
  24. I’d like for his intentional groundings to be called. Both were the textbook definition “get rid of the ball ASAP before this player sacks me” type.
