Would you buy a former rental car?
Ramius replied to Buford T. Justice's topic in Off the Wall Archives
In the words by jeff foxworthy, "buying a rental car is like searching for a wife at a whore house. You dont want anything thats been driven that hard by that many people." -
dead on, tater.

Either 1) Dwight Clark, who will recover cincy's onsides kick attempt at the end of the game, or Eric Wright, who picked off a pass, but more importantly, forced a fumble early on. The fumble stopped the bengals from tying the game at 7, and instead, lead to a 14-0 9ers lead. 2. Bud-weis-errrr 3. Coach Klein (Henry winkler) in the waterboy. 4. John Elway to the Broncos instead of the colts. 5. Michael Jackson in the mid 90's.

He should break both the all-time TD and all time INT records this year. I think he needs 6 TD's to break the record.

Lee Evans is down at Fox Sports Radio's Super Week in the Bahamas, and he's been interviewed a couple of times this passed week. A lot fo the questions are about the Super Bowl, Indy, Chicago, and his days at Wisconsin, but they've had a few Bills related quesitons. What was the reason for your huge increase in numbers this year? Lee: Being Jp's main target, and being the X WR in a lot of play calls. He liked knowing the ball was coming his way and that he was the firs toption on many plays. Allowed him to make plays when the ball is being thrown to him. Also said that this year's new offensive system really help him play up to his abilities. What was the biggest difference in JP this year? Lee: Said in the second half of the seaosn, JP really became a leader on the field. Was more confident, atking charge in the huddle, leading the team, and the players really started to trust his abilities. The game winning TD pass (hou) gave him a ton of confidence. Also, Lee mentioned that the team loves that JP is willing to stand in the pocket and take a hit to deliver the ball. Says he knows JP can run, but standing in there to make a play with his arm means a lot more to the team than running around does.

The NFL is definitely getting too full of itself. Banning the use of the words "Super Bowl"? WTF? you tags, goodell and the rest of the mental midgets that compromise the league offices.

The fact that you are questioning statements 2 and 3 show just how little you know about genetics and molecular biology. But then again hell, what would i know. I'm only a PhD in molecular biology. Changes in microenvironment can and do cause changes in cellular metabolism. And no, differences in cellular microenvironment are NOT cause by genetics.

the best part about his arguements? i just re-read the thread, and his arguements change over time, incorporating our corrections of his wrong assumptions, yet he still takes the stand that he's somehow right. So he basically takes our ideas that are right, and then tells us we are still wrong.

I'm confused. Is this bushbad, or liberalsbad? Either way, i think that our border troops need to be given the order to shoot on sight when they catch illegals trying to cross the border.

And when the pats keep samuel for 1 year and then he bolts, how is that different than the Bills? We franchised nate and got 1 more year out of him.

its almost as overused as the "we dont get any respect" card. Urlacher said that the bears have been underdogs all season long, and only favored when they are home and even then, onyl favored by 2.5 points. News check brian: the bears were favored in 16 of 18 games they played this season. The ONLY homegame where they were favored by as little as 2.5 was the saints game last week.

ahhh, this is priceless. First off, g is not IQ. they are entirely different entities. g correlates strongly with the brain's glucose metabolism, but intelligence is NOT affected by environment. Your g is decreasing on a daily basis. In math terms, in this thread, we are watching the limit as Holcombs arm's g -->0. Without going through the entire metabolic pathways of a cell and trying to keep things simplified, here goes. Glucose metabolism by any cell is DIRECTLY affected by the environment the cell/tissue/organ/organism exists in. change the microenvironment of the cell, and you will directly affect its glucose metabolism, by increasing it, decreasing it, or by shutting it off. Place a person in a home who does not get proper nutrition, is going to affect their glucose levels, thereby affecting glucose metabolism. hence environment having an effect on glucose metabolism. and since g is affected by glucose metabolism, it reasons that g is affected by environment. Thereby, intelligence is affected by environment. And 1 twin study that gives a .86 correlation does not override the general consensus by science (real science, like biology, chemistry, neuroscience, NOT psychology) that heritability of IQ is roughly 0.6.

NFLNetwork's SBXXV replay confirms Reed no HOFer
Ramius replied to mikecole1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
good post. not to nitpick, but in the 1990 season, we did NOT play dallas, nor did we sweep the NFC East. We beat the gants in NJ, beat the iggles and the cards in buffalo, and LOST to the redskins in the final week. we had everything clinched, and IIRC, Gale Gilbert was leading the way against the skins that game. -
But every player doesnt have to be exceptional. Of course, you need good players, but so does every defense. No defense works with piss-poor players, and the Cover/Tampa-2 is no different. You need players to be good at different skill sets than other defenses, most importantly, speed. The MLB needs to be ale to cover the deep middle, but also play a role in run support. The ends and the D-line in general needs to provide the pass rush. Stop the run with numbers. And very importantly, you need fast, athletic safeties that can cover WR's deep.

I dont think they will. Tripplett really stepped up his game later on in the season. McCargo is still an unknown, but you dont give up on a 1st round pick after 1 season. I think the learning curve at DT is too steep to have 3 second year players or younger manning the position. I think that levy and co. will grab a rotation DT in FA this offseason, and maybe one later on in the draft. As you RR, i dont oppose the pick of a DT at #12, but i dont see the Bills doing it.

the offensive coaching was non-existent down here the last few years. Look what Leon washington did with the jets this year. I know it was the coaching, because when put in a position to do well, the players, booker included, usually produced. But our offensive staff was a cluster!@#$. Hence the reason the entire staff was replaced this offseason. I really cant stress how bad they were and just how bad they messed up the careers of some really good players. Notice in the Emerald bowl, when booker was given the chance to shine, he ran 22-91 with 2 TD's, and caught 5-117 (long of 39, so all of his yards didnt come on 1 catch). Used properly, he's a warrick dunn clone. High end potential could be that of reggie bush (run-catch-return homerun threat)

just an interesting aside i head on the tube today... Barbaro's mother is pregnant with his FULL brother at a farm in kentucky. the foal is due sometime this spring. With the same parents as barbaro, it'll be interesting to follow this horse's development.

Alright, heres anothe rplayer update from FSU. http://seminoles.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/..._lorenzo00.html This past season Booker put up some reallly paltry numbers, but anyone who has watched FSU will easily tell you this is due to the lack of a decent coherent offense, and piss poor offensive coaching. Booker is a hell of a scat back. Consider him the poor man's reggie bush/warrick dunn. Paired with a bigger back, he could be a huge threat. Booker doesnt have the size to play every down right away (5'11" 193), but will make an excellent 3rd down back. He's got the moves, the intial quickness, and has the speed to outrun LB's and quite a few DB's. Can also make defenders miss. Booker was lethal in catching passes out fo the backfield, and tore it up in the emerald bowl, when FSU paid him a farewell by letting him carry the load. He's a threat to take it all the way each time he touches the ball. Bottom line: Booker will make an excellent addition to whoever drafts him. He can run, catch, and was VERY effective here at FSU on punt and kick returns. A bit on the smallish side, but if used effectively, can be extremely dangerous. Get him 5-7 carries and 4-6 catcher per game and he'll do some damage. Poor coaching cost him here at FSU, not allowing him to reach his potential. Draft: I'm not sure where he's projected to go, but if he falls to day 2, someone is getting a hell of a steal. If the Bills were looking at add a RB in the draft, Booker would be an excellent middle round candidate. Booker is at the very least as good as FSU counterpart Leon Washington, with a differnt skill set. (Watching Leon's play elevate at the NFL level over his college days gives a good backdrop about the horrendous offensive coaching/play calling down here)

So YOU"RE responsible for his John Kerry like flip-flopping and his irrational ability to understand anything he reads. finally we have the culprit!

The NFL has banned all tailgating at the SB
Ramius replied to erynthered's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
wont be long before the no fun league and the fear mongers ban tailgating from everywhere. you NFL! We are going to see football reduced to a bunch of stiff doing golf claps from luxury boxes in the next few years. -
you cant define variance. you cant define heritability. you dont understand the fundamental concept of genetics, that phenotype = genotype + environment And the most laughable is that you are too stupid to realize how wrong you are.
-
I guess i need to tell my entire lab and the authors of the 200 ro so papers sitting on my desk that all of their and our work is a bunch of bull. We are all studying the effects of microenvironment on various cells. And our research results show that the exact same cells, with the exact same genes, grow vastly different under differing environments. But, since environment doesnt effect phenotype and genotype is the only determining factor, i guess that our research is wrong, and that the significant differences shown are just error.

i like how he conveniently left out this little blurb... or these... but again, should this surprise me? no, because reading comprehension continues to elude holcombs arm. as well as defining variance.
