No player is going to sign with a team that offers small signing bonuses. Bonuses are the onyl things guaranteed in a players contract in the NFL, so they will get as much as they can. You'll see a player turn down a bigger contract with a smaller bonus for a bigger bonus and a smaller contract. Thats the way it works with non-guaranteed contracts.

Nah.You do that, and you end up with half your lawn cut like a professional golf course, and the other half with knee high weeds and missed spots.

As stated above, i think one of the biggest problems with teachers (i'm not talking about schools now, just the teachers) is that in a lot of places, there are no standards for excellence. Too many people get into the teaching profession because they think its "cool" to have summers and extended holidays off. Here in florida, any retard that can pass a basic certification test can become a teacher with no background in anything (and i know a few of said retards). How is that benefiting the students? It isnt. More states need to adopt a higher level of basic standards, such as a B.S. or B.A. in education before someone can even step foot in a classroom as a permanent teacher. In many other professions, you need a basic level of education of some other type of qualifier before you can be hired. Why should that be different for the teaching profession? At the very least, this would weed out a bunch of low lifes who think its cool to be a "teacher" because they get summers and holidays off. Regarding the money, the majority of teachers are way underpaid for the work that they do. The high end salaries that are often shown are teachers that have been in the system and taching for 20-25+ years. New teachers dont make jack schitt for easily 10-15 years. Again, using FL as an example, a teacher can expect to start off at around 26K per year, and it will take at least 10 years of teaching before they sniff 40K. As for work hours, the dozen of so teachers i know maybe only spend 30 hrs at the school, but easily spend 25+ hours during the week working at home on lesson plans, new ideas, and developing new curricula.

perhaps on snow tires for the Taurus. theres no reason to cut TKO this offseason with all the cap space we have. Plus you need to give him this season to prove himself. Julian peterson took 2 years to come back from an achilles. Also, it opens up another hole on the D, which is NOT what we need. If TKO isnt himself this season, then consider releasing him next year.

Sullivan: No bashing just a decent column
Ramius replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not necessarily. The vikes gave winfield a 10 mil roster bonus instead of a signing bonus, so he had a heinous cap hit in year 1. But then the bonus was paid off and there was no more amortization. Sadly, The bills can do this very thing with their mid level FA's. Give all the money upfront as a 1 year cap hit, and be done with it. Also by doing this, ralph can only spend $30 mil, and still say we are "at the cap". We'll just have a bunch of guys with inflated cap #'s in year 1. -
Possibly losing 4 defensive starters

Correction: We wouldnt be having this conversation if the whiners that infest this place hadnt started irrationally bashing marv and saying we are doomed, just because we may not re-sign ONE decent player. -

This coming from someone who has defended both deluca AND molson.

So how do you market the 2007 Buffalo Bills?

Hulk Hogan tribute day. First 1,000 fans in get a pair of hulksters used wrestling bottoms. -
Tampa beat Calgary in the cup 3 years ago. Carolina beat Edmonton in the Cup last year. That right there should be enough to tell you that there are no hockey gods. The sabres need to buck up.

Its called reading, something you arent too fond of. We'll spend $30 mil total money on free agents. That will bring us no where near the salary cap limit. It means ralph will pay out roughly $90 mil in real money this year, and we'll have used maybe 95 million or so in cap space. The rookies will all easily fit in under the leftover cap space, and ralph will have plenty of cash left over to pay the rooks as well.

I'm confused. According to this roller coaster, spikes sucked all year and was worthless and everyone wanted him cut. Now that there has been mention that he may get cut, we cant go on without him and we're doomed? Also, most people here couldnt see the bills winning more than 3 games last season, and we won 7. -

But what good teams dont pull a few games out of their ass each season? part of being good is luck. This team is 7-9, which is around what it should have been, given the talent level. this team is a far cry from the 5-11 under meathead, or a 3-13 team. We've got good young players that are going to get better. i hate that we're losing nate, but you just gotta roll with it.

To be fair, we were only 1 or 2 plays from winning in NE, in Indy, against SD, against Tenn. So it kind of balances out.

So if i am reading this right... 1. The Bills have 30 million in cap space for 2007. (we have used up roughly 79 million in space) 2. The Bills are only on the books for 55 million in real money for 2007 as of right now. 3. But we are treating cap money as if its real money, acting as if ralph is going to have to spend 79 mil already. 4. They are then treating available cap space (30 million) as if that is the only real money we can afford to pay out this upcoming season (bonuses + salary) So basically, they are screwing us 2x. They are treating cap numbers as real money to make it look like we've spent a lot. But then, they turn around and treat remaining cap space as if thats all the cash they have to spend? What a crock of sh--. hypothetical example to see if i fully understand it: we sign Nate for 7 years, 63 mil, with a 18 mil SB (first yr salary, say, 5 mil), and steinbach for 6 years 36 mil SB with a $12 mil SB (first year salary of 3 mil) Our current cap would be 79 mil + 2.5 (nates SB) + 5 (nates salary) + 2 (steins SB) + 3 (steins salary) = 91.5 mil with 17.5 mil in free space But ralph would say that we over spent because he would add 79 +18+5+12+3, and say we went over the cap? And the actual real money paid out this year would be 55+18+12+5+3 = 93 mil. So ralph would only spend 93 mil in real money, and only use 91 mil in cap space, but he would claim that we spent over the 109 mil cap? WTF? Something sounds really screwy. I am really starting to agree with your "ralph crying poor" arguement.

I guess it takes too much thought to see that maybe our rookeis will improve and become better players in year 2, thus making this team better next year.

in one single day you've defended both molson and doucheluca, 2 of the biggest retards on this shorts bus. you;re not doing yourself any favors.
