how many OLs league wide have pro-bowl talent across the board? The vikings have a highyl regarded line, and have a number of "1st round picks" alogn the OL. And exactly how many playoff wins has that gotten them? Hell, how many playoff appearances has it gotten them? Perhaps theres a bit more to winning games that simply drafting a bunch of OLs.

If theres one thing about you bill that i will never question, its your desire to see the Bills win and do well, no matter what road they take. Its a shame i cant say that about everyone who has posted in this thread.
-
remember, its not about the talent we draft, just the positions we draft. who cares if we draft the next robert gallery or mike williams? the fact that matters is that we spent picks on the OL. Drafting talented non-line players doesnt fly too well 'round these parts.

perhaps i went a bit overboard. You did seem to be looking positively upon whitner towards the end of last year. Not dawgg, however. Whitner isnt elite yet. But his play was extremely strong last season, especailly given the fact that we had a poor front 7 that he was playing behind, and got virtually no help from the other safety spot. He was alone out there. But, he did play well, and you can see that his play is steadily improving. The kid appears to be a budding star, and i think its easy to see that he's got the potential to be a top-5 safety in the NFL. I would already consider him in the top 12 safeties in the NFL. And for the record, NO, i dont agree with you that drafting him was a dumb idea. Just because there may have been perceived "better" options available doesnt make his selection dumb.

i see this thread has dug up the last 2 remaining whitner bashers, dawgg and bill. Nothing he does on the field can ever make him good enough in their eyes. Hell, the guy could turn into a HOF safety, and these 2 would be at his induction ceremony unfurling a giant sign that reads "Reach." When interviewed, they would proclaim "well, he is ok, but the bills could have traded down 2 spots, gotten 6 1sts, 2 seconds, 8 3rds and a 4th round draft pick and still taken him."

better to hit one innocent bills fan than to let a scumbag pats* one get away free.

how many teams in the NFL have "quality" backup LT on their roster? answer: 0. When a good to great starting LT goes down, thats it for that team. The team is left scrambling for an answer. Most of the times, you see the starting RT switch over to LT, or kick a guard out to tackle, and the new backup will be put in at G. Theres a ton of shifting Why? Because no teams have "quality" backups at LT. Now, back to your ignorant crusade.

Yanks fan allegedly runs over, kills Red Sox fan

there is a difference: piss bombs. That, and opposing eurotrash fans would just laugh at you if you tried to run one of them over with a smart car. -

I'm not saying she should have killed them, but i understand. Boston azzholes are everywhere and have easily surpassed NY fans as the "most hated fans" on the planet. -
i learned this lesson when i moved south and started wearing flip-flops all the time. Theres a big difference between the $10 target flip-flops and the real good $40-50 pair flip-flops. There's a reason they're expensive; they're worth it. A cheap pair will kill you in the long run.

Professional Sports on the Rise and Fall

Watch a 6 yr old pee wee football game and then go watch an NFL game, and notice the difference. Then go watch a bunch of 6 year olds chase a soccer ball all over a pasture for an hour and compare it to a high level soccer match and you'll notice the only difference between 6 year olds playing and 26 year olds playing is the lack of orange slices. -
great stuff eball!

No need to. As soon as they look at you funny, just flop on the ground and cry like a B word as if your head has been ripped off. A shot that fast doesnt matter when they rarely hit the net, which is the size of an apartment building. It doesnt take skill to randomly kick a ball and hope it goes where you want. It takes skill to employ the "pick a direction, dive, and hope" tactic of soccer goalies? Face it. Soccer is just a second rate boring-ass sport. Sure i'll watch the World cup, because i can root for the US and because it happens once every 4 years. I dont see how it is exciting to watch 10 guys kick a ball back and forth for 2 minutes to gain 40 yards, only to have a defender blast the ball 60 yards back where it came from. Woohoo! then the other team gets to try move the ball again! Think how bad hockey would suck if there was no whistle for icing, the players couldnt hit the net with their shots, every bit of contact resulted in a candy ass dive and flop with a stretcher coming out onto the ice, the 3rd period didnt stop when the clock hit 0:00, the ref just randomly stopped the game at some random point thereafter, the people lobbed urine bombs every game at the rink, and the refs ran the risk of being shot each time they stepped out on the ice, and you'll understand why most people think soccer sucks. -

There was also the little fact that trent failed to adjust to Revis blitzing, which he did on about 29 consecutive downs. -

good post. What i wonder is that why so many here are so absolutely confident that JP is so terrible that he shouldnt even be on an NFL roster, why are they afraid of letting him compete against trent? Trent should mop the floor with him, according to them. I'm also wondering why they feel it was ok the way the Bills handled/developed JP, but Trent should be treated completely differently? -
Clark, thats the gift that keeps on giving the whole year.

rookies picked in the top 16 picks can be signed to a max of 6 years. Bottom half of the first round picks have a max contract length of 5 years, and from the 2nd round on, its a max of 4 years.

JP must be gone, Bills sign another QB

I'm sorry. I took the Trent's name in vain. I will retreat and do my penance. -

See, to me, if i was running a team that had questions at the QB position, i'd trade a late 3rd or a 4th for Grossman with the notion that he could compete for the starting job. Sure the guy has been a turnover machine, but in the right offense, i think he could do fairly well. Then again, he may just stink it up some more. However, i would not trade for him without some minimal re-working on the deal and a minimum extension. For Grossman, i would most likely set up a 2 year deal with a large roster bonus after year 1. That way, after 1 year, you cut him with minimal losses if he's bad, or if he turns out to be good, he's fairly compnested in yr 2 and you can hammer out a long term deal. As for JP, oi agree with you that he's going to want to start wherever he goes, and that, combined with the fcat he's got 1 year left on his deal, makes him untradeable. If he had 2-3 years left on the deal, he's be somewhere else right now. Mostly, i was arguing that JP's situation is what makes him untradeable, NOT his talent and ability. There are too many knumbskulls on here that cannot grasp this seemingly simple concept. -
