I'm a bit biased since I thought the "stunt" was lame anyway, but I can't stand people who want to back out of or change a deal just because the leverage may have shifted in their favor after the fact. As others have said, you follow thorough on the terms of the deal. -

I absolutely LOVE the fact that Super Mario prefers to play the left side...that's where the signing of Anderson will end up being absolutely HUGE. We're able to have an upper echelon pass rusher on the line, but still line-up a pass rushing specialist at the other end in a role that will maximize his effectiveness. I really feel we're going to see a lot of production from Anderson this season. Having four legit starters on the line who can put the QB on his back is such an amazing feeling... -

Gotcha...I like that approach. Comparing the film relative to both Nolan and/our our expectations based on the previous two films, and then relative to moves and/or the summer season as a whole. Very smart! -

I haven't made my list yet, but when I do, if I end up not including you on it then I'll at least be sure to regret my decision in your honor If it's of any consolation, you're one of my favorite posters on TBD -

Was 4/5 your rating of the movie? If so, I would never have guessed that based on your review of it. Very well-written! I actually had the same thought as I was watching it...I sort of pictured Nolan in my head as he was writing the transition scene, and then just sort of going, "ehhhh, fuggit". -

Not only that, but Michael Shannon will be playing him. He's on par with Tom Hardy in terms of his acting chops, just isn't quite as far along as Hardy in terms of exposure yet. He has a ton of range and he can be intimidating as all hell. I have no doubt his portrayal of Zod will steal the show...maybe not to the degree that Ledger did with Joker, but this will be a villain that leaves an impression as you're leaving the theater. Nice...I'm going to have a Batman marathon once this one is out on video in a few months...and I totally agree, the issues with the film were small enough for me that they didn't detract from my enjoyment. -

Agree with everything but the last part. If we can keep Skylar to just a quick glance into her oversleeping and a brief bit about her depression at bedtime, this will rock! I'm loving that Hank is doing his thing...I hope he remains front and center and really starts to get hot on the Heisenberg trail. I thought his wife was brilliant in this episode...she got just the right amount of screen time. Also thrilled that Mike has an even bigger role (seemingly) so far...he brings a calculated, reserved intensity that keeps you on edge. Truly impressed with Aaron Paul at the beginning of the episode...show just wouldn't be the same without him. I'm fascinated to witness more of the deconstruction of the Fring empire... If we can keep the focus on Walt, Jesse, Hank, and Mike, this season will rock! -
Happy Bday, my friend!!!! I hope your day is a great one!

Agree totally...good points. I don't get the criticism of the Bane v. Batman scenes...as I was watching it, I less concerned about Batman winning and focused on whether he'd be able to just get the fug outta there. Also loved the fact that Bane pounded in his head gear...that was badass. If Avengers was any indication (in terms of fan response to a multi-superhero film...I know DC and Marvel are different), a Justice League film would be pure epicness. Sometimes these hardcore comic fans just aren't satisfied unless EVERYTHING is how it is in the comics. From that standpoint, I'm glad I'm not a comic guy. I know how cool it is to see a book, or comic, or tv show, etc to come to life on the big screen, but I think the writer/director should be able to have some license in terms of the story. I'm a fan of Harry's, but I agree that he's a bit over the top on this one. -
So true...this little guy had a very healthy sense of depth perception when we got him, and he's been reluctant to jump down off of anything. But he's so addicted to his little monkey that he just went flying right after it lol. I ordered him his first football off amazon, so looking forward to getting it on Tuesday to see how he takes to it. I'm predicting it'll become his favorite toy LOL!

I love how you say, "addiction to power and influence"...we have a show that, on the surface, focuses on an educated man who can synthesize an incredibly pure version of one of the most addictive drugs on earth...one that you need to engage in with greater frequency over time and in increasingly higher doses in order to get the same high, to the point where it can entirely consume you. It's almost like Walt's character mimics this, even though Walt never touches the stuff. His drug arises from within, and with every successive use and increase in dose, his Heisenberg persona becomes more and more consuming. If we equate the "dark side" to the drug addict, then Heisenberg is akin to the strung out, homeless junkie on the streets, whoring himself out on a daily basis just to get that next fix... ...okay, I don't really know what I'm going on about, but I can't wait to see tonight's episode! haha -

Well said. This is really interesting...as I was watching it, and even after it was over and it was settling in my brain, I really didn't figure this film would be so polarizing. Even with the mild WTF issues, I was completely entertained for the entire 3hr (including previews), so it's really surprising me how much some people disliked it. TDK held up really well with me...I've seen it several times and each time I have a blast with it, particularly Ledger's role. I'm going to be interested to see how eager I am for repeated viewings of this one. -

Wow, Harry Knowles, someone I agree with way more often than not, is just KILLING this film...I guess if you're a diehard comic guy and well-versed on Batman lore, this film was pretty controversial...I guess that's why I didn't have this same reaction. Wow, I'm really shocked by this! He does make some good points, particularly about Alfred, which is something that did bother me a little during the film. http://www.aintitcool.com/node/57109 -

I agree, but it's entertaining That's what makes Walt so interesting, IMO...his motivation wasn't to break bad, it was to provide for his family. Heisenberg was created by the circumstances that arose as a result of his choice to follow this path to financial gain. It's sort of like Anankin Skywalker...he loved Padme so passionately that he allowed jealousy to creep in, which led to such extreme circumstances that he was consumed and transformed into something evil. Certainly neither character can be seen as a victim or sympathetic, but I think there is a difference between an inherently "bad person" and someone who allowed circumstances and his environment to feed the beast that is his dark side to the point where it completely takes over, stomping out all but a small flicker of morality and compassion.
